CEO of Boeing. Probably.
Ha!

Interesting timing, huh?

What about good old leaky Starliner from Boeing, they got our astronauts stuck in space in the ISS due to countless helium leaks smdh

On the bright side, the C17 is an incredible cargo aircraft.
It's not gonna work... I feel for the astronauts stuck on the space station... they will probably die on reentry.. dum Boeing..
If boeing yes, but look at the bright side….they’ll get the pronouns right 😂
Its main purpose is to fall apart mid flight to confuse the enemy.

Gotta trust boeing in their experience of yeeting things out of their airplanes 😅😅

I was hoping to find a comment like this. Do we even have hypersonics btw?
First you need a working hypersonic missile.
It'll probably work, given they stole the design
@@timspiker The US has been flying hypersonic missiles for so long, that they not just had a functional air-to-air one (the Phoenix) flying for decades, but it has been retired.
@@Xenomorphine That's not a hypersonic missile. I mean it got close, but it's not quite there. The current design is a direct copy of the Zircon 3M22
@@timspiker Incorrect. Mach 5 and over is how hypersonic is defined. Mach 5 was how fast the C model of Phoenix reached (and that was just according to unclassified data).
No, there is zero evidence that the US has copied Russia's attempt. They don't need to. They have decades upon decades of existing research to build designs on.
@@Xenomorphine Nope. The top speed was 4,680Km/h, it falls 1545Km/h short of Mach 5. It's actually Mach 3.8
Have you seen the Zircon 3M22? If you did. You can't tell me they didn't copy. It looks almost identical.

The work conducted there was Top-Secret; no information was to come out. The revolver was open; Dad had been cleaning it, but now was just twiddling with it, entranced. He spun the cylinder while looking through the bores at the TV.
He told me later it was the inspiration of that gun's revolving cylinder that caused the Air Launched Cruise Missle to be designed for a rotary launcher that fit a B-52 bomb bay.
Those are god damn cruise missiles.

" BOEING UNVEIL THE ANIMATION OF IMAGINATION OF HYPERSONIC LAUNCHER "
We're not playing catch up with hypersonic tech, lol. We've had minutemen rockets for 60 years and they go Mach 23.
As he mentions, there seems to be a growing trend with U.S. cargo transport systems to be able to launch munitions. Rhinemetal's new unveiling of the containerized launcher system for launching 126 Hero 120 Loitering Munitions works off a Military Truck and I suspect the US Marines will be very interested in that vehicle since they already use the Hero line of loitering munitions.
Let's just say.... You're not wrong
@@BroadcastRyan22 In the trade shows you've been too, have they talked about the option of sending those loitering munitions through the bridge room of an enemy ship to just disable the ship? My theory is you don't need to necessarily sink a ship, just keep it from reaching its target.

Damn, just think about how many whistleblowers they could take out with this baby
This revolver launcher has been in use on the B-52 probably at least since 1969 and the AGM-69.
So they got the chance to take taxpayers money for nothing.
The rotary launcher in the B-52 doesn't reload itself like this one does. This one seems to allow for continuous fire.
@@ILikeTuwtles The B-52 had multiple rotary launchers. The main difference is that cargo planes with HUGE cargo capacity can be converted to the attack role which VASTLY increases the capacity to carry offensive air-to-ground missile capacity above the capacity of all designated bombers and purpose-built bombers and attack aircraft. The ripple-fire capacity is AWESOME and the effect would be overwhelming if all used together. The US capacity for precise targeting is UNIQUE and UNPARALLELED.
They gonna shoot bolts and fasteners from that canon
The ones which cost $100K for 10-pack only because they are for USAF?

Well lads, looks like it's time to deploy some advanced enlightenment.
I was a mechanic on the C17 and I have never heard it called Buddha. It’s fitting I guess but I have never heard it until now.
If Boeing is building it, it will fall out of the sky. The Ramjet door plug will pop loose eventually
“And deliver freedom from stand off distances” spot on.
Boeing should focus on Starliner, doors and leaks, get our astronauts home safe!
Na they should focus on the 737 max doors and leaks to get millions of people home safe
The basic concept is brilliant. The revolver seems like it’s silly. I don’t know what I don’t know here, but racks and ramps with some labor by the crew would seem to work just fine. If that revolver fails, you gotta turn around.
Its probably going to use the Common Strategic Rotary Launcher that has been used in B1/B52/B2's since the 1980s. Safe to say its tested technology that will work well.
@@trevorgoebel1211 Not if the cartoon was close to scale. Those missiles are BIG. Even if it’s tested, not seeing why it’s a good idea.
U could probably just fit more rockets than if u had to have people on board and being able to do it remotely and faster than humans is a big plus. Its just indeed risky with malfunctions
Boeing: Hey journalists, reporters, and whistleblowers, look what we made!

The Yanks tend to hold their cards close to their chest, appreciating the benefits surprise affords on the battlefield. They simply don't brag, though I suppose they really have no need to.
B-1 has launchers like that too.
Uh not really the same thing dude. The missiles don't drop out of the launcher, they are yeeted backward out of a cargo hatch...
@@HailAzathoth One releases and launches forwards, the other releases and launches backwards. Yes, completely different...how again? I guess since the rocket ignites inside the cargo hold instead of igniting harmlessly under the plane, that's different. I'm sure bathing the cargo hold and other missiles in flames won't causes any problems, Boing is such a sold manufacturing company, they never make costly mistakes.

I had that revolver idea a few years ago but in my design it would be in the middle of the plane and 2 hatches under the plane would open and the mechanism would lower to shoot them out. A bit more drag that way I guess and the missiles would be shot forward instead of backwards.

Those cargo planes are only good enough vs ragtag insurgents or poor armed third world countries vs a real army they would get shot down before delivering anything.
Yeah no shit Sherlock.
By your definition of what a "hypersonic missile" is Germany had them in the 1940's. Chinese and Russian hypersonics all rely on ballistic trajectories. Again, stuff that's been around since the V2 rocket program.
The US doesn't define ballistic glide vehicles or delivery systems as "hypersonic" so what they're bringing is hypersonic ram-jet and scram-jet technology that doesn't require a ballistic missile or air launched booster to get upto speed. The US hypersonics will also be able to constantly adjust course. Monopolies on technology never last forever but those folks in the defense industry work really hard to bring us all these overpriced toys we'll never be allowed to play with lol
Yessss they use their own continuous propulsion 🎉
It makes sense to launch them from an airplane though. The rocket already has height and speed and doesn't need extra heavy moving parts or even another rocket to get them into the air. It makes the missile very 'simple' in the sense that it is lighter and has almost no moving parts.
The zircon is an air breathing scramjet, whit surface lauch capability. Also the kinzal can change course in flight. Stop drinking the coolaid.
spot on
Ok that's terrifying. Can you imagine seeing 12 missiles maneuvering at hypersonic speeds within a minute on radar from only 1 bogey (airplane) as in a full out war you'd have more then one plane or 12 from 1 for as a preemptive first strike capability. That's sick.
The missiles would be fired from a range that's beyond of the radar, so I doubt the radar is gonna see the plane or missiles until they close enough.
Ask Ukraine and nato about it, they’ve seen it in Ukraine. Today it was several airfields.
@gatoslokosforever they should play comical music which would arrive after the explosion

@@fallencrow6718 No lie.
Russia doesn't have hypersonic weapons, not unless your definition is simply anything that goes at that speed. In that case every ICBM is a hypersonic weapon, and Iraq already had hypersonic weapons during the gulf war with their scud missiles.
Yeah we just let the world think we were behind on maneuverable hypersonic weapons. We have many completed systems in service for years now, we have actually had stuff like that since before Vietnam. Russia and China are way behind.
It's unbelievable how few people realize that MRBMs and ICBMs travel at hypersonic speeds of up to 24,000 KPH (14,000 MPH) and are _very_ hypersonic. Indeed, as you pointed out, Saddam's scuds traveled at a speed of mach 5.
Russia and the Yanks have a near diametrically opposing method of showcasing their military prowess. Russia is boisterous and brags of the capabilities of their weapon systems (which often don't offer the performance promised). The US seems to hold their cards close to their chest, allowing their adversaries to only guess what their true capabilities are. Like an MMA match where one contestant is a braggard and focuses on showmanship while the other is feigning a limp and focuses on subterfuge and actual skill/performance.
