And it's exactly why this is happening. Clubs like Arsenal, Tottenham and United can't easily skate through to a champions league place and the corresponding revenue anymore, and as a result they feel there's too much risk involved. American owners are used to the socialized style of franchising in the US where there is no risk of relegation, consistent revenue flow and profit sharing; as a result they want to create a guaranteed way to that revenue regardless of results on the pitch. It's anti-sporting and disgraceful, if this comes to pass, these clubs and european football is dead to me. What a shame.

Fabian Constantineanu I think with nfl and nba the no pro rel is fine because those sports are more based on equal shares and equal competition between the best of the best. However, in football this idea would destroy the game. Smaller clubs with roots close to home wouldn’t be able to dare to dream or bring up their young players, the pyramid would lose its value. I think that in more enclosed sports like nfl and nba it works in practice, but in football it would be a tremendous failure. Sorry for going on a tangent

Agreed as a City fan. Hundreds of years in Manchester and now their greed knows no limits. I hate Liverpool and United but at least I can be proud of the collective history the north has in the greatest sport in the world. My family included (even if they played for United lol). We're the home of football. Just a few miles apart and we have 3 of the biggest clubs in WORLD SPORT. This is a middle finger to all that history. I despise fans that call City plastic like we have no history. But how THICK can you be as an owner to play into this "money" stereotype and push for a super league. I'm embarrassed. I agree with Gary Neville. Dock us all points.

PSG is owned by Qatar and Qatar have already invested heavily for 2022 World Cup. So they don't want to get on bad side of FIFA before WC happens. This is the reason PSG haven't signed yet.
