- The famed song - Lilliburlero - with various images of British soldiers throughout the Colonial era including Queen Anne's War, the 7 Year's War, and the American Revolution.
"Lillibullero" (also spelled Lillibulero, Lilliburlero, or Lilli Burlero) is a march attributed to Henry Purcell that became popular in England at the time of the Glorious Revolution of 1688.
One of my favourite marches
One of mine as well - especially this rendition of it, the build-up etc, its a very good rendition of it.
@@imperialglory Here's another brilliant version of Lilliburlero czcams.com/video/m_7uKPyVkjY/video.html
I remember marching to this as a young man at Pirbright barracks and been told that the British army's boots had been crunching gravel all over the world to it since the 15th century, I didn't know what he meant, youth is wasted on the young!
So true
English Army until 1707, British Army thereafter. D

Not surprising have you heard The lyrics to this tune I just have and was once a rebel song though that’s not to surprising either when you consider that the national anthem also was a rebel song in the the king referred was Bonny prince Charley’s father when he tried to claim the throne twenty odd years earlier
