This nature strip had a lot of grass growing over the concrete, we used our Milwaukee tools to get it back into shape and looking great for the neighborhood!
Whenever the grass gets this tall it tends to shield the base of the grass from getting sunlight causing the grass to die. After being cut for a week or so the grass generally regains color,

What is the purpose of the strip of land between the sidewalk and the street (besides being a pain in the ass to maintain)
Good question. My property doesn’t have side walks so everyone just walks through my grass
