    I'm surprised it's not mandatory in all new dwellings yet, with LED lighting more reliable these days it would be easy enough to include 2 or 3 emergency lights on all floors of a house. Good info boss. 😁👍

      Indeed. And one of the brightest ideas I've seen from one of the CZcams Sparks (sorry, I forget who) is fitting an emergency light that illuminates the consumer unit. Because the damn thing is always in some particularly dark spot and you can never find a working torch when you need one.

      Easy to fit but would they be tested or if self test will it be recorded?

    There is a lot to take in when sorting out emergency lights as most equipment has to have an emergency light as well. The list is endless.

    What country/s does the regulatory reform...2005 document apply to?

    • @calmeilles
      @calmeilles Před 2 lety

      It would be UK wide, otherwise it would have a specification in the title.

    My company has given me jobs to test emergency lighting on blocks of flats and I've found a number of failures which I've reported back , they've asked me to replace faulty units however the new ones have different fixings and some require extending mains cables , I'm not a qualified electrician and I told my company I feel uncomfortable carrying out this work , but they say you only have to be a competent person not a electrician, can you please advise me where I stand .
