  • Beautiful AnAn Creek flows within the Tongass National Forest. Located 30 miles southeast of Wrangell, it is home to one of the largest pink salmon runs in southeast Alaska. With so many salmon, black bears and brown bears converge on the creek in the summer. With different fishing tactics, both species of bears might feed side by side. Trying their best to stay away from each other sometimes causes tension, but with so many fish staging downstream of a small waterfall, the bears simply must take advantage and eat.

This is exactly where my video of black bear with salmon is from! I have loads of videos of the black bears here. Incredible experience. Only saw a couple brown bears though.

Yes, it's a magnificent place. We only saw a couple browns too. Suspect its more of a black bear area.
