- Excuse me… am I a Harvard girl now??? I am deeply honored to be the recipient of the W.E.B Du Bois Freedom Medal Award at the historic Sanders Theater. Never would I have imagined being among these seven incredible humans receiving this award. Special congratulations to Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie, Agnes Gund, Raymond J. McGuire, Deval Patrick, and Betye Saar. And what’s a Laverne Cox speech without a quote from the scholar that led me on my critical thinking journey?! The one and only bell hooks. Words cannot describe how moved and thankful I am for this honor.

These are truly troubled times in United States. Why is there so much hatred there? I admire your courage doing this in front of everyone. I’m proud to be a transwoman especially because you’re there and proving to everyone that we are normal and beautiful people.
You are an inspiration to so many. Congratulations!

Wow wow wow Powerful
She's a very interesting transwoman and a good actor. However, I disagree with her advocacy for the use of puberty blockers on children who present as biogender nonconforming. I was an effeminate boy and would have been very susceptible to this gender ideological stereotyping of being gender nonconforming, where anyone, including a child, should consider whether they have gender dysphoria. After going through a normal puberty, however, I'm an effeminate man who is gay. What a horror it would have been had I been put on puberty blockers (with the various negative side effects) and then subsequently transitioned into a transwoman after numerous intensive surgeries, who would need to take hormonal drugs for the rest of my life. Gender-affirming care sounds alluring, but in truth, there is no standard way to for any doctor to diagnose if a child truly has gender dysphoria or if they are just gay. And most often no one will know, including the child, until that child has gone through a normal puberty.
The only factual comment
We live in troubled times.
beautifully poignant 🙏🏾💜✨🪐
