b-2 flies other ordinances outside of nuclear warheads. They actually have a 50 thousand pound bunker buster bomb that is specifically designated for that plane, which the b-2 can hold 2 of. That can quite literally level entire skyscrapers, but is used to annihilate bunkers and ebony combatants underground
The B2 guy wasn’t excited because he was shocked it’s incredibly hard for you to qualify to fly a B2 as there are only about 80 people in the world that can fly it , this pilot must have passed EVERY SINGLE test with flying colors. His missions will all be classified and let’s not mention the amount of destruction and death this pilot has at his finger tips. Not only that his missions will probably all be more than 24hrs at a given time so if you’re wondering about pay, it pays VERY well.
This is my dream and goal man. Everyday I pray and hope that one day I can not only attend UPT or ENJJPT, but be able to graduate and be able to take part in a drop night and get to fly A-10’s (although I’ll be blessed flying anything). These videos are so much motivation. I’ll get there one day. UPDATE: 05/16/24 As I have mentioned in the replies to this comment, I am still pursuing a pilot slot in the military, however I switched to the Navy instead of AF. Not that I couldn’t make the AF, however my goals and aspirations changed so I want to try for Navy. I have my ASTB (Navy’s equivalent to the AFOQT/TBAS) scheduled this coming Tuesday (05/21/24) and then MEPS on the following Thursday (05/23/24). I’ve been studying my butt off to pass this test. I had to reteach myself math as I was horrible at it, so having to relearn algebra has pushed me back a few months. I’ll update once I make it through both! Im keeping the goal alive! I’m gonna fly one day with the Navy! I still feel as if I have so far to go, but I gotta keep moving forward. UPDATE: 05/21/24 Just finished my first attempt at the ASTB, scores a 5/8/6, not overly thrilled but not entirely disappointed. I’m gonna submit them to the board and see what happens! If not, then I’ll retest. 05/23/24 Another setback today… went to MEPS and passed everything except the distance vision test. I’m not meeting with my recruiter until next week to go over my options, but since I have worse than 20/40 uncorrected vision (which is the requirement), I’ll need surgery. Which if that’s what it takes, I’ll do it! I’m not letting this stop me.

Why do other Drop Nights at other bases have more heavy assignments, where these here have considerably more fighter jets? Is there a correlation between the base you train at and your assignment? Or perhaps that more jet slots needed to be filled at that time?
My A/C reveal in the Army (1982), we were handed our orders in a class formation by the TAC Officer 2 weeks before the end of our Instrument phase. No celebration, and honestly no choice of mine. Watching this is exciting. What many of them don’t realize that they are on top of the world now, they’ll be rookies again in the next phase. LoL
Congratulations. I don't remember much of my drop night other than I got an F-15 (before there were Mudhens) and getting kicked out of the O-Club for breaking glasses in the fireplace.
I’d bet that the F-22 is the most fun to fly and right behind that would be the F-16. However that’s going to change with the new F-15EX which is adding enough thrust to basically be the equivalent of strapping on a third of their currently operating engines. They’re all fantastic machines though I’m stoked for these pilots I wish them all the best!

In the uk atleast you can request to transfer after a few years. Regardless the worst you can get is an f16, like common; sure you can be disappointed not to get f22 but it’s still a dream to fly any
My dad went through this. Basically your pilot training class consists of about 15 or so guys/gals. It’s about a year long and you get graded on every practice flight you take. At the end, there will be a ranking established, and you send the instructor your top few choices for what you want to fly, and based on how you finished you may or may not get them. Plus, the Air Force may not have slots for your airplane at that time, so NOBODY gets it. B-52 always seems to go to the bottom guy. Sometimes they also pick a really good pilot and put them in a T-6 to be an instructor, which also sucks.

That is a first assignment instructor pilot (FAIP) but they are supposed to receive their first choice as a follow on assignment 2 years later.
