    Started the ordering of my sim build for my garage this month. I have been back and forth between EZ tee and the monster mat, but I couldn't find a lot of great reviews on the EZ tee hybrid. Thank you for this! I was convinced that this was the way to go and put the order in right after I finished watching. Keep up the good work!

    Thanks for the video! I’m in the process of putting together a simulator in my garage and the hitting mat is one of the more critical components, in my opinion. I’m very much looking forward to your follow up review. Thanks again!

    Yup. My favorite mat I own. I have strips that are 1 foot by 4 feet. I was told they aren’t the best for standing on and hitting so I have stance mats that are separate. I have obviously stepped on my strip and it is a little “loose” feeling under the feet but not to the point where I think it would cause issues. If I didn’t have stance mats I would have ordered a bigger size. But love this mat.
    For your other followers, like you, I contacted the main office and they set me up with the local distributor. He had tons of strips that had been cut from big country club installs he had done so getting the 1x4 was easy. It was around $10 per square foot so the strip cost me $40 and I drove to pick it up as it would have been $40 to ship. lol. But even at $80, it is a bargain. I assume with prices up eveyehere, it will be more today than 2 years ago.

      I haven’t. I’ve only hit the 3D version. Here’s a link if you are interested. I know the SigPro products are very highly regarded, my only
      concern with their products are the thicknesses. The SigPro products are all in excess of 2” thick and the typical hitting strip products are around 1.5” thick. As a result of this, if you ever want to move in a different direction, you’ll have to figure out how to modify the thickness so that it fits. Hopefully that makes sense. Here’s a link to the 3D product video I mentioned:

    Questions:
    When using an iron on the SimTurf Mat, does the iron go down into the mat simulating a divot for a center hit, or does the impact hit low on the face. Using foot spray has helped me determine this with hard surface mats which impact very low on the face.
    Like you I suffer from tennis elbow, however on my right arm and I have to be very careful. Does an iron glide through the SimTurf or does it grab with irons. Range mats are very low pile so there is no grab, but I can no longer use range mats as the impact brings on pain so any insights on the elbow issue are appreciated.

    • @TheGolfNerd
      @TheGolfNerd  Před rokem

      This is why I stress to folks to not skimp on hitting mats!! Cheaper mats like what driving ranges use are just so hard on the body and not worth it. I updated this video with a final review which you can see on the channel. I offer some additional input after using it for a month if you are interested. Anyway, I’ve used the mat now for several months and I’m glad to report I do not have issues with tendonitis. It’s been great for allowing me to practice indoors without concern of injury. As far as hitting it heavy, it will let you hit one heavy and the corresponding strike will be higher on the face. Let me know if I can help further and thanks for the question!!

    This seems like a similar style to the Country Club Elite. And in all of my research I’ve seen people complaining about eventual joint pain from using the CCE mats - or supposedly any mat that takes a tee due to the grabby nature of the surface. What makes this EZ Tee Hybrid different than those other “takes a tee” type of mats? Thanks!

    • @TheGolfNerd
      @TheGolfNerd  Před rokem +1

      During my conversations with SimTurf they told me that the Hybrid part of the name refers to the fact that it is a blend of the two most common types of turf materials. One is for softness and one is for rigidity. They’ve blended the two to try and find the sweet spot. I’ve been using the mat for two weeks now and have been hitting a lot of shots during this time for upcoming product reviews. If I had done this on the monster mat, I couldn’t lift my coffee cup out of my car’s cup holders. I’m sore from all the swings for sure, but I have no tendinitides. I’ll speak more about this during the final review, but as of now, I’m feeling pretty confident it won’t cause tennis elbow for me. Hope this helps and thanks for the question and feedback!
