Go Sheffield. We have won Varsity for the last 7 years. Jessica Innis Hill is a graduate. we have Arctic Monkeys, Sean Bean and Def Leopard. Students from 140 countries. #weareinternational. Student Union has own cinema. Great friendly students working for the Students Union. Great welfare student support. The Arts Tower has the largest paternoster in the country. 18 cafes. St. Georges church lecture theatre. Refurbished engineering building called The Frederick Mappin building. West Street for food and music. Friendly squirrels in Botanical gardens. Why would you want to go anywhere else. You are a wonderful advertisement for the uni. and the friendly atmosphere that overseas students bring to the best uni in Yorkshire. Also great train links to anywhere in the country. Take care and be safe. Love your room.

Great video! As a Hallam enthusiast, I was more interested in your opinions about the city in general than stuff about UoS. Quick question though, if you were so passionate about Sheffield / UK, why did you not try working in the UK after your studies??

Hi Suki, as an international student, I would like to know if I need to bring the comforter and pillow etc all the way from Hong Kong to Sheffield? Is it convenient to buy beddings near u of Sheffield when I don’t have a car? Also, did the welcoming student picked you up from Manchester airport or Sheffield train station? You managed to travel all the way from HK to Sheffield by yourself for school opening? Impressive!
Hey! I personally just went to IKEA to buy all the bulky essentials such as pots and pans, pillows, blankets etc. There’s a tram system that get you straight to IKEA from the city centre so it’s definitely feasible! The welcoming student picked me up from Manchester airport! And thanks, 🥰🥰but it was definitely stressful because I worry about everything 😂😂

Does anyone have any good info on the st George's accommodation. I've been searching around and I can't find any good videos or information on it apart from the uni website.
St George’s is a church! It’s a very unique accommodation that is literally right next to the Diamond (university main library).

No not at all! I really depends on you and how involved you are in social activities etc. ☺️
Is the Uos a more partying invested university with students going out and partying being a common norm
It really depends! I am not that much of a party animal myself
Hey, how is the social life of postgraduates (international students) at UoS? Is it just academics and is there a strong postgrad-undergrad divide, or do they become a part of societies too? As someone who has not studied in the UK as an undergrad, the latter will be nice! (By "do they become", I mean do postgrads generally take part, or will that come across as over-enthusiastic lol)
Same..I also really want to know about that. I am planning to study postgraduate degree in UoS and I'm a bit anxious about the social life there since I am not from UK and haven't studied undergrad there.
@@noahlinn2522 Hey, according to the people I have spoken to and a few more experiences I've read, postgraduates can definitely be as social as undergraduates, but it can get difficult to manage that with academics...so with good time management skills, you'll have a nice time I guess! All the best!

I love Sheffield for the three years I was there! I don’t know much about Leeds but I definitely can say Sheffield has a great student community!

How is diversity in Sheffield uni? x
The university is quite diverse! Me being from Hong Kong also adds to the diversity of the university. University is also constantly working on then inclusiveness of their community.
Hi i would like to ask how the diversity is like in Sheffield as i am coming in September. Obviously it's going to be predominately white but i just wanted to know if there is much EM students.
Sheffield is very diverse, there are societies of all races and countries.
Can u mention the availability of part tym jobs there
We have a wide range of choices right now but not sure how much availability, you’ll have to check with the uni!

Hmm they’re both extremely good universities! I don’t study engineering myself therefore I can’t really decide which one is better but maybe do some research!
