Ancient Sounds of Relaxation | Thunderstorm Ambience for Sleeping

- It's a dark and stormy night as you walk through grassy hills that you heard was once an ancient Roman city. Far from any modern civilization, you can't quite find proper shelter in time before the rain starts to fall. As it begins to slowly drip on your hat, you crest a hill to find a sight that takes your breath away. Here, at the top of a hill once unexplored, you come across the ruins of an ancient Roman temple. The floor of the temple has been filled with water from the recent rains, creating a pool that so clearly reflects the night sky. Almost as if the Romans purposely constructed the perfect reflecting pool.
The rain starts coming down harder now with a thunderstorm not far behind, so you set up your tent to wait out the storm. You peer out across the ruins basking in its magnificence trying to grasp the thought of what this place would have looked like all those years ago. You are sitting in a spot someone hundreds of years ago once sat, touching stone a person long forgotten took years of their life to carve. The perspective shift is intense. Amidst the vast ages, this stone has stood, and you're just another blip on the timeline. Yet that won't stop you from basking in this structure's glory and appreciating that you get to witness it at this point in history.
The thought is almost inspirational. These pillars have withstood the test of time, enduring through countless wars and weather phenomena, and they still stand showing the world their resilience. Just like you. You have also endured constant challenges, yet you still stand. You still make it through every day prepared to take on whatever is next. These pillars are a testament of our willingness to endure as a species, and that motivates you to get up and continue walking tomorrow. For now, though, let's just enjoy this hidden oasis for a little while.
As you lay down to sleep in your tent, relax to the sound of consistent rain with occasional claps of thunder. Listening to rain and thunder sounds can bring a sense of calm.
