The level of detail and use of metals in creative ways makes me want one. I would want to wear it as a daily just to show it to everyone so they can know how cool it is

The really sad part is they will almost never be worn but spend their days vacuumed packed in a safe.
I would wear the shit out of that watch. Till the damn case fell apart. I just got a GS snowflake and im wearing the hell out of it

I work as a sales associate in an omega boutique and only held my first snoopy yesterday. It’s truly special, a shame I’ll probably never have my own

Are they truly allocated based on position on the waiting list, or are they just allocated to the best customers like some other brand with waiting lists tends to do?
I recently bought one and I must say that it is quite beautiful. The level of detail is impeccable. In other words it is an adorable and interesting topic of conversation to have it on your wrist.
I was lucky enough to pick one of these up at retail earlier this year. This is a piece I will keep and pass along to the next generation. Great video!

where and how did you get one ? I called every omega shop in a 1500km radius and none are available.
@@PogU_4Life I've been buying my Omega watches from the same guy for 20 years, but there was some luck involved. I was at the store when the Omega guys were there and I got to talk with them and I asked them to get me a Snoopy. Two weeks later I got the call.

Not just an amazing watch but also a masterclass is space exploration history. I really enjoyed it. Great attention to the detail and a fantastic complication. Love it.

Outstanding. I love mine - needless to say, it is a conversation starter when I wear it. I must say, I did not know the earth transit was exactly 14 seconds.
I had been told that when you engage the chronograph, snoopy takes 14 seconds to "emerge" from the far side of the moon on his way home.
But, I timed it and it is actually 13 seconds, so I learned something new. A couple of points: the silver snoopy award is NASA's highest because
it awarded by the astronaut office itself; it is always presented by an astronaut; and as suggested, the medallion is always one that has "flown".

I couldn’t even put my name on a list for this, boutique salesperson said this watch is basically for big spending loyal customers. I’ve bought a couple of things from the boutique and I’m in their system but I’m obviously nowhere near the big spending whale that they say this watch is being allocated to. Omega(corporate)still says that it’s not a limited edition and everyone that wants one can get one, lol.
I’m getting real Rolex vibes with this one(which isn’t a good thing)
While not limited, the Snoopy 50 is extremely hard to get. My Omega Boutique got 2 for this year (2022) and she said that was a lot. One would have to play the Rolex game to get this one and the secret is go to an Omega Boutique, not AD.

What is a boutique vs ad?
@@CZcamsuser1aa A boutique carries no other brand except Omega. You don't get discounts but are given a VIP experience when looking for an Omega. They have a broader selection plus you get dibs on the hot watches. if you've bought from that Boutique, the sales associate will remember you. I'm not sure whether they have a closer affiliation with Omega or not.
An AD carries Omega's but other brands too.
Same thing with Rolex. They have Boutiques and then there are ADs.
If you want a hot watch, a boutique is the way to go. Purchase history helps too.

Wow, what a piece. thank you so much for this excellent video. I had heard of the Snoopys, but never really looked at them, and certainly had no idea they were such brilliant pieces of work. I have been backwards and forwards on this clip more than a dozen times just revelling in each little detail. Absolutely spot on.
I really love this timepiece. Omega really did a great job on this watch. It’s definitely a keeper in any collection.
My fantasy chrono at this point is a Secret Snoopy (which obviously doesn't exist). Want the 50th anniversary with just a non-snoopy seconds dial on the left, but the satellite snoopy on the back. A boy can dream.

I rather buy this for a premium than a rolex gmt pepsi. Which is also an amazing piece, but this watch is just in another league.

It is not a limited edition but the production is limited being a 50th Anniversary 🚀😉

Honestly, this is the best watch to come out for a while with all the small details. Love all the info on this great watch! Hope I can get one in the future! Definitely makes the inner space nerd in me happy!

I guess after all the edition will end up with about 7500 units, as I repeatedly heard from the boutique, that 1500 per year are delivered. And then there’s a 55th anniversary in less than 3 years, isn’t it?
Hence, grey market price of slightly above 20k€ looks reasonable.

Here in Bangkok, the Omaga boutique says one must spend at least $100K to get a right to reserve one. That’s is so insane and ridiculous.
Insane indeed. I'm on the list for one here in the Netherlands, without ever having bought a watch at the AD. But I guess I was also just really lucky.

Apollo 10 was not the start of the use of Snoopy as the mascot. They started it with the safety initiative after the fire of Apollo 1 on the launch pad 2 years earlier.
Got mine 5 months ago after paying a deposit the day it was announced. Trick is to go to a boutique not AD.

I put my name down for this watch at quite a few ADs the day it came out two years ago. Ironically around the time I actually started collecting watches. Still haven't gotten the call and likely never will.
Unless you buy their “unwanted” watches, such as a few years old DeVille, you will never get a call. Just a simple truth.

Good to see this gorgeous Speedmaster again.
But my admiration goes to the NASA brilliant minds who sent men to the moon and back, with a few adventures on the way, with all the computing power of a Casio F91 W

The Snoopy award is so special because it is not actually awarded by NASA, it is awarded recipients are selected by the astronauts themselves.
You can get them preowned for a decent price right now (January 2024)

Congrats on getting one, would you mind me asking if you got it from a boutique? If so, did you previously buy from them? I love my 3861 sapphire sandwich, it is a nice bracelet too (I assume this is the moonwatch strap you’re referring to). I think it would be perfect if they had only included more micro adjusting to it.
@@dbportillo yes it came from an Omega boutique and the bracelet is the one for the new 3861 models. The sapphire sandwich is a great watch. If I was going to buy a classic-looking Speedmaster it would be that one. Enjoy!
That is exactly the way I wear mine - I had trouble with the strap (too stiff) and my boutique manager suggested the bracelet. Looks great and is very comfortable.
