There is a mistake. When presenting place no. 4 it's mentioned that scan size can go up to A3 but in specifications at the end of presentation shows A4. I think is pretty important information and should be corrected.

I'm a amateur journalist so I need sometimes to scan newspapers from an archive, is there an option to clip the scans or a wider maximum scan range such as A3?

If you need to capture large format objects, maps, newspapers etc. You will need to set up a camera jig. The idea is Similar to these cameras, buy a reasonable digital camera, (I don't think a 'phone camera will have sufficient control) and a few cheap lights to avoid shadows. It will be a bit of a pain to set up the first time with a lot of trial and error but once you get the distance/lighting/focus right it will be easy to set up next time. I suspect any half reasonable modern camera will do but if you also intend to photograph artwork you may want one that can save images as Tif as well as jpeg.

As a first presentation, this is informative. But for me as a possible private user, the video focuses mainly on the hardware, not on the software, the error rates and the amount of work that would go into a scanning project with the respective scanner. Thanks anyway!

these scanners won't work well on thicker books especially hardcovers as most wont open full enough.

A very shallow presentation. A flagman scanner of CZUR (3000 Pro) has 300 something not interpolated (optical) DPI and produces a mediocre quality scans though does it very fast and recognizes skewed surfaces mostly correctly (so not 1st in their line scanners could do only worse), ScanSnap SV600 can’t recognize the shape of the surface and requires constant human intervention making the whole process very time consuming

This is just a set of videos put together without any research, depth, or meaning. At 1:17 it says this printer! Did you really take the time to analyze the software or understand the specifications and technology behind each of these products? How do people come up with rankings without going deep? I wasted my time watching this nonsense.

An utterly useless video. It's just a list of a few products.
I was hoping that there might be some information about how these devices mitigate the BIG problems with this idea when scanning books.
None appear to have a fixed straight edge for the paper's and books to be aligned with so pictures, (not scans,) will need to be rotated after capture reducing the quality.
The other big problem of course is how to keep books flat whilst being photographed, the answer it seems is they don't bother they just use software to alter the image after capture again degrading the picture quality. The idea of trying to hold a book flat with you thumbs is laughable.
I am puzzled by this type of device. It lacks the quality of a flatbed and lacks the size advantage of an old fashioned camera jig where you can capture much bigger items, (maps etc.) They are not even cheap.
