    So, I just finished building this and will answer a few common questions and give tips.
    First off, at the start there are so many bags of hardware and so many pieces of wood that I suggest you take out all pieces and organize them if possible.
    Secondly, make use of their given tools. There is a useful plastic measuring guide and a stop tip for screws that will save you time
    Lastly, pay attention to the details of the manual. So many parts where they need to be facing one direction or it says to make sure the .25 inch longer side faces one direction, which was tough to eyeball
    Overall, it took 30-40 hours with mostly me, but help on parts that require a second person. If you have someone who wants to help a little, give them the tube slide as a task because it took forever.

    Is there a list of all the tools you used for the project? Or extra things you would recommend outside of what the directions suggest?

    • @FlatThunder
      @FlatThunder  Před 6 měsíci

      I don't remember if I discussed any specialty tools outside of the directions in the video. I think some tips are in the video relating to tools. You will need a cordless clutched drill driver with the correct torq bits. Get multiple torq bits as I broke several on this build. A manual ratchet that can drive torq headed screws will be helpful on the ones that are difficult to drive. I prefer to use a larger speed square for ease of operation. I also drove some of the hex screws with the cordless drill, so get a socket adapter. Bring some organization and patience! Thanks for watching! 👍😁

    • @FlatThunder
      @FlatThunder  Před rokem

      I only used a 1/4" drive ratchet and tightened them by feel. If they are too tight it will promote cracking during thermal expansion / weathering. Make sure you have the metal support rings in position. The instructions on this curvy tube were a little tricky. Thanks for watching! 👍😁

      On the metal brackets of the A-Frame? I had a similar issue. I removed each barrel nut and bolt (one at a time) threaded them together free hand and ensured they screwed in while out of the swing set. Try using a bench vise to hold the barrel nut while performing this operation. It takes a lot of torque. It's either paint or an intended interference. I could not tighten them without this step. Good luck on the assembly! I'm sitting in the fort now! Thanks for watching. 👍😁
