Cargo Hold music from DKC2 in pristine studio quality. This was made possible by locating the sounds from workstation keyboards and drum machines such as the Korg Wavestation, Roland S770, and Roland R8, and plugging them into the music instruction data ripped from the game, plus a little mixing magic to create might have sounded like with the veil of 16bit compression lifted. Part of a project to restore the entire DKC series soundtrack

The update is incredible! Now this theme sounds more faithful to its original.

Such a great song! And I do have to say that En Guarde is the only reason why aquatic enemies are even killable in the OG series. It sucks that him and almost all the other animal buddies never returned in DKCR or Tropical Freeze.
Probably because there were no water levels (although there should have been) in DKCR. And even in tropical freeze when they had underwater levels, they used cranky instead of enguarde. Shame, maybe some day we will have them back, and a new DK game, too.
@@shrimpnft509 DKCR I get why there's no En Guarde, but the lack of any animal buddies besides Rambi makes no sense at all.
@@carterjames8829 well, a theory that I had is that in the end of DK64, the switch to destroy the donkey kong island goes off anyway, with only dk, diddy, dixie, cranky, funky, squawks and rambi escaping, hence the island and enemy change in the newer games. but that’s a tad too dark and over complicated, so maybe retro wasn’t inventive enough
@@shrimpnft509 I didn't know that actually. That would explain why most of the animal buddies and Kongs are gone, but it makes no sense why Dixie and Funky didn't return until Tropical Freeze. But still, I'm pretty sure that some of them had escaped by swimming like Ellie and En Guarde, or maybe Squitter escaped by making platforms, and Quawks flying away, but the rest of them I could see being killed or destroyed.

The song is short as it loops back every 50 seconds but it is still a great song. You also made it sound more powerful which is awesome.

The intro sounds pretty weird, in a way that makes the original sounds better, and the water sound sounds kind of bad, rather than that, sound pretty good.
Its the lack of bass and darkness in the big hits.
