Sitting here in tears, a proud North Philadelphian and long time fan who used to play alongside Dawn at Dobbins basketball courts. This is who she has always been and her heart is big enough for anyone that needs that special love and care. God bless Dawn, and congratulations!!

I cried throughout this whole segment. I didn't think I could love Dawn Staley any more, but I was wrong. She is the epitome of not only passion, but compassion. I wish her nothing but the best.
Why dawn is so disrespectful to others and she didn’t deserve to win any awards I had to turn her off because the news had her on I can’t stand her attitude she has. She disciplines players for their actions and to me that’s wrong. She didn’t deserve to win any awards.
She did say for social media trollers…come see her- but often time we complain about stuff that really doesn’t matter- a cancer ♋️ battle for example is that serious for her time, is yours? 😀 After that heartfelt acceptance speech, Coach Dawn Staley is a Class Act, yes God is divinely orchestrating the life of Dawn Staley, ordering her steps to Inspire, motivate…, as she continue to use her platform in Fighting for others, not only for her basketball players, but friends, family, especially kids that look up to her, and like her little friend with cancer- those in fight of their life- what an incredible, yet humble human being- she consider changing lives of others a “blessing”☝🏽 👏🏽 🌟✨ We loveU Coach Dawn Staley, CONGRATULATIONS on Espy🏆 📣Go USC GameCocks 🐓🥇❤️

Saying you've been divinely guided and the path was set for you to make a difference spoke to me so much. Dawn has been such an inspiration to the younger generation. I'm British but a mother of a son who played basketball, a family member who has had to watch and be there with other family members with Cancer. Dawn's speech was truly inspiring. She did not make the award about her but about how her actions and voice can make or help make a difference. Here in Britain we could do with more coaches like her, she does everything with her heart and sole, may she carry on the being the person she is. ❤
