Hi Joe - it’s Big Rodders in Ireland. Another super informative video. I imagine it was somewhat sobering to learn that the biggest things don’t always happen in the US of A! In the European Union log processing equipment has to be two handed operation. The theory is that it reduces accidents but it inevitably slows production. In continental Europe firewood is cut to one metre lengths (39.25 inches), split and seasoned in that form. Many boilers are designed to accept 1 metre logs or each length can be split into three 13 inch pieces using machines you featured prior to sale. The advantage is the ease of handling longer splits during the seasoning process.
Great stuff. Don’t get wore down - jet lag and strange dietary experiences can really slow down a word class operation. 👍👌
That is totally true. Still dealing with it!
Great video, can't wait to see part 2 👍 Glad you made it home safe and sound 😊
Thanks Lyle👍 It was a great time!
What a massive show ! Thanks for taking us along 👍🏼
Thanks for watching it buddy
a lifetime memory, so glad you went.
it was def a great experience. Thanks
Its always interesting to see what else is out there. Good video and glad ya got a vacation trip.
Thanks Jason!
Great tour. Many great things come from that part of the world!
That is super cool Joe! Looks like it would take days to walk around there! Definitely a lot of neat machines to check out. Glad you made it back safely and thst you had a good trip! - Tim
I can't believe you could see everything in one day. It was huge! Thanks for watching Tim
Thanks for spreading joy!
You got it JT!
Amazing amount of plant at that fair Joe. Never hear of a lot of those brands in NZ. Speaks volumes for the future of the firewood industry if that many companies are involved and doing all the r and d on those machines. Good video mate. Cheers from HB NZ
excellent insight Cliffy. Thanks for that!
Great video Joe. Well done, I expect lots of editing in your future . Elaine from Canada here, thanks for taking the time to record and comment on your German adventures. Those machines and equipment look massive. (Now I’m imagining you there with a booth with your cute red Super Split 😂) But 19:34 What an awesome experience. Thanks again for sharing. Cheers
Thanks for the kind comments Elaine!
Wow, parking is far. Even though the weather did work out that well, thanks for taking us along.
We are ALL happy to see you made it back safely 😉👍
It was a super fun time Dan!
I appreciate you keeping the videos around 20 mins. I find the longer videos seem to struggle for real quality content.
I think it is more about my attention span. That is about as long as I can go LOL
I’ve said it before, I’ll say it again. You take us to the most interesting places, all the cool places around northeastern Ohio , and now Europe. Lol. I was thinking the same thing about the rain. Just like home !!
haha!! Thanks Wayne. This has been a super cool time. I'm glad you are enjoying it as well buddy
Really interesting that they chose Schwarzenborn for hosting this expo. It surely is located in the sticks and woods of the German countryside. From some other footage I believe parts of the expo grounds were located on a German army base.
I think you are right. I remember seeing soldiers as we were driving into the field. This was unbelievably large!
Good morning Joe. The video was great for a fair weather guy like you and me. LOL I assume these machines are the products of necessity, evolving with time and refinement. I spent two years in Germany, minus a side trip to Mississippi for training and a little thing called Desert Storm. But, I never went to a firewood/timber show. I can tell you that the people of Germany have wonderful forests. They can travel on bike paths between villages through forests and the green areas are immaculate. They clear low dead branches and remove debris from the ground. They are a joy to walk, job or bike through. BTW, it's good you are back home in time for the next rain event. Enjoy the journey - cheers
I came home to an oven Bob! Too hot for firewood! The temps in Germany were perfect for me that week.
Awesome show, Joe. Could some of those neat machines be in your future? 🤔👍
haha some of them could help me out!
morgen ! joe ... everybodies already wearing a coat ... clear beer for the morning ... they grow really straight trees
Thanks Ron. Mogen to you.
Hello Joe! It’s quite impressive the difference in many things in how they do things etc. compared to our ways. Great video and taking us along cheers my friend 👌🏻🔥🇨🇦
Hi Joe: Welcome back. Traveling is fun to a point and then I like to be back home and in my own bed. I’m really enjoying the videos. I’m looking at replacing the Japa 365 with a Tajfun firewood processor. Thanks for the videos.
Interesting to hear Rich. What is your thought process on this?
Hi Joe: I got to run the Tajfun a couple of times and I really liked that it could handle larger diameter logs and the bar saw used a harvester bar and it was self tensioning. It was a very big step up from the 365.
You should have set up a Dolmar sales tent to display the greatest chainsaw ever, the Dolmar 7900 😂
Joe I'm sure there are several places in the US, including southern VA that woukd pay good money for your rain services! Great video.
Haha true. I have a friend who is a farmer he says out west the farmers try to do what they can to get water on their crops... and in Ohio the farmers do what they can to get the water away from their crops
Glad to see you made it back and had a great trip!
Came home to an OVEN Kevin! What can you do to help me out with the temps??
@@ohiowoodburner We'll be begging for heat come January. 😉
Nothing like recouping from knee replacement surgery than watching some of your favorite CZcams channels of which OWB is one of them. Sure alot of different looking machines. Joe, just keep on keeping on & have a wonderful day
thanks for the high regards John. Hope you aren't hurting too much and you have a speedy recovery
Good Morning Joe👏Cool video of complicated equipment 😂👍🏼🪵🇺🇸
thanks guys. Those 4' lengths just seem like a complicated way to make firewood. LOL. but I liked the zip zip machines.
Great always Joe. I can see what you mean by Great Looking Machines.
You sure did luck out on the Trip to Germany and I am so Happy they Gave you the Opportunity to go.
I can not wait to See your next Video on that Machine you mentioned
I am just hanging out inside my Friend for 2more days. To Hot and Humid out to do anything in the Woodyard.
I have made a decision to start next year with selling Bagged Firewood. I am going to get together and in touch with Bob Nelson (Fantastic Great Guy) to see about a Bagger for Bundle Firewood.
Keep up your Great Video's my Friend, stay Safe, well hydrated, see you at the next one. RON from the Woodyard in Duanesburg NY.
waay too hot outside Ron. Stay inside until it cools off!
Very cool adventure to say the least...
Thanks buddy. It was a blast!
Hey 👋 Joe
Hello
Would there be a market for 12-inch logs vs 16-inch logs?
In one of my vids from the winter I visited Kyle in Leadville Colorado and he converted in 12" wood with excellent results.
@@ohiowoodburner Thank you. I would think some restaurants might like smaller pieces for their pizza oven. Size matters lol
Danke schön! I will wait patiently for the next! Maybe a glimpse of that new 60cc class Motorsäge?👍🇺🇸🇩🇪
Thanks for watching. Hope you enjoy the next vid!
@@ohiowoodburner Prost👍
Good video joe very interesting
Thanks Bob
I'd watch you doing a voice-over of the bad audio footage you don't want to use.
Good idea. I will see what I can do. I'm not very experienced at some of these advanced editing skills
I second this idea. 😉👍
Is Mesta going to pickup Japa's 2 sister machines for north america?
They already have their own dealer networks. HP has more of a footprint than Palax but I think they have plans to increase
How does that German oak smell?
👍
Thanks Carl
WOW Morgan LOL LOL
Quit calling me Morgan! lol
5 Km = 3 miles
Close enough!
Hi Patrick - it’s Big Rodders in Ireland. Over here metric and imperial measurements are widely used so we have to be familiar with both. A kilometer is .621 miles.
