  • ECHO CS620PW and the ECHO CS7310P chainsaws are awesome and today we get to test them out on a few cuts to see if they can do the job! They are VERY well made saws and come with a 5 years warranty! The other companies are not even close and the ECHO saw are WAY cheaper!!

    The Echo saws remind me of the old Homelite saws. Simplicity is a lot! I went to Stihl saws from Homelite when Homelite went to overseas made junk. I have several Stihl and now 2 Husqvarna saws. The 572XP is hard to beat, in my humble opinion. I have not ran any of the newer Echo saws, but I am looking for the opportunity to try one out.

    I have a CS-620 P and a CS-600 P that I purchased in 2010 great saws . The 620 has a hotter coil advanced timing and a bigger carburetor, it handles a 28 in bar as well as the 24 in bar. I like it a lot.

    Gavin’s new saw is what I was thinking. He is definitely earning his keep with all the work he does with Adam and Bert. Learning from hard and dedicated workers who want to pass on knowledge. Can not wait to see how the 620 wakes up Chris and not a better crew to give a honest review of how a saw works and does. No fluff, just straight facts. Good Night Irene. 👍🏻

    I’ve got a 620PW wearing a 24” bar and I absolutely love it. It will rip through anything I throw at it. I’ve got a Granburg mill for the 24” bar and use an Oregon ripchain when milling. Swapped my crosscut chain to the 72LPX and it’ll just dig in hard when bucking and chew into the wood with tons of torque. The low end grunt of this saw in the cut just makes an initimitable sound. She’s a total keeper!

    Picked up a Husqvarna 585xp last week. Picked it up on the last day of the Husqvarna sale. Only put a tank of gas through it so far and is a big difference from the 562xp. Bucked almost twice as much wood with the 585 over the 562 with a tank of gas.

    The Echo 620P will run with, if not better than, a stock 70cc saw once ported. The big differences between the Echo 620P and 590 are the piston, cylinder, carb, and coil. Otherwise there is nothing different as the 620P parts will fit the 590. If someone burns up their 590, can easily replace those parts with 620P parts.

    Fine program Chris. Right about the advantage of pro saws ( and the space ship helmet !😁 ). Good marketing for Echo. For those of us aging, smaller 50cc saws with 16" -20" bars do the job for cutting here for the 6-8 cords/year off the woodlot for heating needs. My Stihl Ms261 plus the smaller limbing and climbing saws ( Husky & Stihl )have worked well as I run into senescence 😢. Stay cool, temps in the 80's-90's are hot for Maine. Try chaps with shorts ( or nude ).

    Unless prices have changed the Makita/Dolmar saws in that range are pretty good deals really. I have a 6421 don't think that model is made anymore but I am sure they make basically the same saw with a new model number but its 64cc or 65cc and I think those are around $700 new. Mine was $250. I got it from Home Depot. It was from their tool rentals.

    Nice saw but personally just not a fan of the 60cc class saws. If I want to get things done it is a 70cc and up every time. There are several 50cc saws that will hang right in there with most stock 60cc saws,and they are much lighter. I have owned a few different 60cc and they are always just back up saws and get used the very least. The Willow is like Pine...and will make any saw look like a winner!

    • @iffykidmn8170
      @iffykidmn8170 Před měsícem +2

      For the right person a one saw tweener saw in 60cc might make sense, I still prefer 20cc jumps 50-70-90cc 70cc being an all around best pick. maybe in another 5-10yrs I might change my mind as I already avoid the 120cc saws unless absolutely needed.

    • @InTheWoodyard

  • @obxkoastie8170
    @obxkoastie8170 Před měsícem +1

    Chris...The more you run an Echo they better they seem. Echo-far less expensive to buy, easier and cheaper to maintain, adjustable carburetor, screw-down oil and gas caps, translucent fuel tank, great separation of fines so air filter stays clean, etc. Only negative is they come pig-rich from the factory and need to be tuned after three-four tanks. Easy to do by pulling the high and low limiter caps with a drywall screw, adjust needle valves, and put the limiters back in place. Or dealer should do it for free!

    Of all the reasons why a person would want a full handle rap, probably the most unlikely thing is, a left handed person can sometimes prefer them.
    The other not so obvious thing is, it provides a little more protection from being a target from anything hitting it or dropping it.
    .
    Probably the rarest saws out there are saws that are heated carbs with full raps.
    They exist, but are very few.
