      That would explain why Yana was there: he projected that from the first place going back to the past as the Master with the Tardis. If he didn't send that message, he wouldn't be there to help the flying machine to evacuate the Universe, he wouldn't have met the Doctor and he wouldn't have become a Time Lord again, so he couldn't have send that message and etc. etc...

    • @Masan1779
      @Masan1779 Před 8 lety +85

      +Jack Franklin Vlogs Nope. Regeneration, as done by the Time Lords, involves renewing their own body. The possessions done by the Master were merely overriding the host's mind with his own, thereby taking over their body. Also, one of the bodies that he stole wasn't even human.

    • @Masan1779
      @Masan1779 Před 8 lety +21

      +Jack Franklin Vlogs But the point that I am trying to make is that those occasions when The Master stole someone else's body, do not count as regenerations. They are just possessions. And he did not "change his face" after either body theft. When he possessed Tremas, he kept the same face. He just made it younger using his remaining power from the Source of Traken.

    • @Masan1779
      @Masan1779 Před 8 lety +18

      +Jack Franklin Vlogs Regenerated Time Lords don't replace their current, dying body with a new one. Their own body has its cells renewed and rearranged. Basically, same body, different shape. Taking over/stealing another being's body is not the same as renewing their own body. Therefore, possession doesn't count as regeneration. It's just an alternate method for the Master to extend his life. Perhaps it is cheap. But definitely not regeneration.

    • @Masan1779
      @Masan1779 Před 8 lety +2

      +Jack Gaming Your comment is irrelevant to this discussion. My point is that possessions don't count as regenerations. Possession means taking over someone else's body. If the Master is renewing his own body cells, regardless of method, then it is not possession. And therefore, not relevant to this discussion.

      @@Bithe7011 Their titles, adopted titles that is, are part of the right of passage for the high lords of Time Lords themselves. As soon as they go through the rite of passage they choose an identity that permeates the way they will wade through the time vortex (all of time) when and if they every decide to traverse it in any manner. E.g. this is why there is Lord General (military commander), Lord President, Lord Doctor, Lord Master and so on. All Time Lords can traverse the time vortex but the highest of them become an embodiment of an idea itself and essentially become the fixed moments in time that define said idea, e.g. the Doctor heals, the Master subjugates and so on. It is a very interesting concept, and when toyed properly with, e.g. during the Time War where the Doctor became a War Doctor, essentially a combatant, it can bring out great stories. Let's also not forget that during the Time War, the Doctor (War Doctor) and the Master fought together against the Daleks during the whole time continuum, which ended with the "fall" of Gallifrey and the eventual Time Locking of the Time War so that no more time travellers could affect these moments, essentially making all the Time War fixed moments in time and solidifying the aspect of the military Doctor as was depicted by the late great John Hurt.

Maybe they haven't, but just because Delgado is a great and very popular Master does not mean every single person will agree he's the best. Each to their own - there are a lot of great Masters, but we all have our own opinions and preferences.

      @kryptoniansky Před 8 lety +4

      ***** I have to completely disagree there. For starters, I got into Doctor Who in 2005 and I am more than well aware of who Delgado is as I have since gotten into Classic Who as well. I have many friends who are casual viewers or dedicated Whovians that started in 2005 and they also know who Delgado is. So once again, it's disrespectful to assume an opinion on favoring a version of the Master over Delgado (or any other) means they simply haven't seen them all. My point in the previous post still stands.
      This is not a matter of picking which Master you think is the best, but rather how rude it is to say anyone who disagrees about Delgado just doesn't know him or haven't seen him. Please respect that people have different views and preferences when it comes to characters, and the Master is no different. It doesn't mean they're wrong or any less of a dedicated/informed Whovian just because they don't agree with you. This is all I'm going to say on the subject. Have a lovely day.

You don't actually need to have all the actors alive to make it appear for a moment that they are all working together. One of the Doctors (the 9th) is alive, but he got booted off of the show, so even a live one they chose to put on a screen, instead of actually having the actor there.

      Jacobi's clothes were a little bit loose on Simm. He's an inch taller, but Simm is slimmer. Also, on the last four doctors, they were all the same height, except Tennant who is an inch taller, but Eccleston was the broader one. So, that's why his jacket was big for Tennant.

    A lot of people are complaining we didn't get more Jacobi onscreen which I agree is a crime. However, if you want more Jacobi and are able to then listen to his audio series The War Master from Big Finish. Big Finish made Derek Jacobi into the best Master in all of Doctor Who. The producer of The War Master and the person responsible for writing Jacobi's Master in other stories for Big Finish, Scott Handcock, is the script editor for RTD2 so if Jacobi is still up for it this is the best time for his Master to make a return to screen.

    Imo this is still the absolute best regeneration in terms of presentation. You can argue that 10 or 11's regenerations were better narratively if you want, but the visuals here are the absolute best we've ever seen. It uses a morph rather than a simple fade, but it's masked behind other heavy effects and shot from an angle which makes the transition between two very different looking people seem completely natural. Whereas Capaldi to Whittaker looked really janky for a number of reasons, including the fact that the angle leaves absolutely nothing to the imagination and the energy effects look like a simple filter.
