Retro Commercials Supercut: Late 1980's Southern California Local Businesses Showcase

- I decided to go through and pull commercials from local or independent business from the 1980s for this first entry into the new playlist "Supercut Compilations". In future entries I will showcase similar commercials from the 90s and y2k era.

5:46 seeing and hearing Chick Hearn again brought back good memories of growing up watching the Lakers. Good times!
Stephanie Edwards, that’s as california as it gets. I still remember her from the Lucky ads, but then hearing her every year once the rose parade came on. I freaking miss her on channel 5 every year. it just ain’t the same. like, I still watch, but it’s just that factor. Stephanie was to the rose parade like Al Roker is to Macy’s. just added a little something.
This is the compilation I've been waiting for.

Great selection of commercials, most I have remembered except for some like the one from Wilfred Beauty Academy that just screams welcome to the late 80s.
I remembered watching a good share of those commercials such as from In & Out, The Broadway with the rock jingle, Jack In the Box with the late 80s jungle, Miller's Outpost, Pioneer Chicken, National Education Centers, Waterbed Gallery, Circuit City, Stater Bros, and Cerritos Ford and Auto Square with Ernest P. Worrell. There's still more perhaps from Strouds, Color Tile, May Compmany, The Giant, Phil & Jim's, Dr. Beauchamps's Western Dental Centers, Dr Campbell Dentistry, Alpha Beta, and I did remember the Standard Brands ads but with the Spanish Jingle. If only you had commercial break footage from the Spanish Stations, I remembered Tianguis Supermarkets, Johnson's Market, Wolfe & Sons, Sopp Chevrolet, City Ford, Los Defensores, Pescado Mojado, Mariscos Tampico, Mueblerias Carabello, Victor Clothing, Centro de Proteccion Legal, 7 Mares Restaurant, Keystone Ford, La Popular Furniture, Mueblerias Sheraton, and Abel Valenzuela El Rey de la Tachuela. I don't recall the Wilfred Beauty Academy commercial but that just screams late 80s and who could forget the neon Barbizon ad from 1989.

Yes, this video is not tied to any specific tape, so I was able to just put as many Cal Worthington ads as I wanted.
