lol Connor doesn’t care for story in video games and yet can’t be bothered to play DOOM, Soulsborne games, most RTS games, and older games where story is just an excuse to get to the next level.
When the writing doesn't appeal to you, there shouldn't be anything wrong with skipping. Either I'm going to stop playing the game because I don't like the story, or I'm going to skip the parts I don't like and appreciate the parts of the game I do. Engaging with game mechanics and engaging with story are also two very different things and a lot of people don't like switching back and forth. Also, sometimes people aren't able to switch back and forth as seamlessly as others. To be able to sit down and engage with a set of game mechanics without interruptions is not an invalid desire or need.
There's also the issue with quality of writing/directing/acting in games, but I'd rather not argue that here as it's probably the most argued AND it is currently seeing huge improvements.

Yes they're half of year behind, but they also work on Nostalgia Critic dub and, let's be honest, there's a lot of work to dub 2-hour podcast for a week.
Really love the timestamps put in the video seek bar. It helps when I go back to find an anime to watch if I forgot the name of it after watching an episode the first time.

Well firstly, I’m not talking about the bois, I’m talking about the guest. You can compare him to Anthony who clearly behaves like he had camera&production team well in mind, while ProZD just don’t give a fuck.
Secondly, I don’t believe at all that the way they talk staff on tt is same with they would privately do. I don’t mean they are faking it, but you have to know that there are cameras rolling and a production team(even though its probably just Meilyn and one other person) behind the scenes. People will behave somewhat more seriously especially when they are making a living out of this.
So what I meant in the original comment is that ProZD seems don’t care about any of these stuff at all.

Most people (understandibly) talk to both them and the audience, but ProZD feels like he's just talking to the boys. And I dont think one is necessarily better than the other (I loved Anthony's episode to bits). This approach could be detrimental, like you said he doesnt give a fuck, but thankfully its just as entertaining for me. haha
The first part feels more like an interview, although he is chill about it, probably because of the couch helps. Anthony was just a different beast when it comes to these kinds of shows so he can't be compared to regular viewers.
If MAL ratings skew to newer shows, ANN stays permanently locked in the early 2000s. They both have their issues. But the FMA:B thing is actually universal across all anime databases.
I relate to what ProZD said at 1:27:00 so much. I used to drop stuff sooo quick when I was a teenager and in my early twenties and now I watch everything I can. I think I just got tired of dropping stuff and having this mentality that nothing was worth the time to watch. Like Garnt said, as a kid I would watch anything... and those were the days, right? So why not do it again? It's not like not watching anime is more fun.

First episode of Trash Taste I've felt compelled to watch, and it was incredibly entertaining! Hearing ProZD bring up so many mid-2000s anime brought me back to when I first started watching anime myself. It also reminded me to finally read the LNs for Haruhi, so thank you for that!
Also have any of you seen Eden of the East? I highly recommend it. I still am unsure where to sit on the movies and their endings, but the TV series (only being about 13 episodes long) genuinely intrigued me and I find myself rewatching it yearly now!

This was a really brilliant episode for me, I just absolutely love this one.
Throughout this episode I've been working in my room, periodically glancing from the corner of my eye when something interesting is mentioned. This has led to me noticing Garnt with his white shirt, shorts, legs crossed on a GIANT white couch. This ensemble has resulted in me regularly making double takes as my brain keeps mistaking Garnt for Piper Perri.

I had no idea he voiced a character in God of War: Ragnarok! So cool. Awesome that he got to write lines, name the character, mocap. Wild. It's actually super clever to let actors write for their own character (if they are good at writing). That way the characters feel more real and individualized and unique.
I guess that's why ProzD accepted the role on the fan translation of Ace Attorney Investigations 2 is because he really love to be a part of it. Even it's an unofficial localisation. And he did a really great job too.
No guest has been more disappointed than sungwon hearing how garnt watches shows in 2X Speed and Connor skips cutscenes

My personal favourite for an obscure anime is Heroic Age. I love spacey stuff like space travel, dimensions, space battles etc. This show fits me so well that it's one of the only shows I have actually rewatched, multiple times. And I am not a person who rewatches anime a lot at all.
ProZD is so chill and just fits right in. The jokes is also just so fitting. Seeing him shocked about the boys' takes is just amazing. It'd be cool to see him on After Dark doing a board game with the boys

Board games are crazy. Growing up I wasn't ever a big fan of them because we only ever had competitive games and my family doesn't do losing very well so it always felt like you were trying to dodge misery rather than actually just play and have fun. But one day I saw some CZcamsrs playing a cooperative board game and it blew my mind that those types of games could exist, where you could all work together and just have fun rather than have to worry about beating someone else. We gave away all our old games and now have closets full of new ones that we get together and play several times a month.

I completely agree with watching CZcams videos at 1.5x or 2x speed. It depends on how quick they speak and the type of video (I wouldn't watch a guide above 1x speed), but for something like a podcast or playthrough, especially when it's several hours long it saves you so much time

ProZD's rule of watching the cutscenes at least on the first time is basically the same with me when it comes to openings and endings. I listen to them at least one, unless they are absolutely bops, and then skip them on the rest of the times. That being said, I have a friend who just skips them in general
I had a friend that "skipped" the Mushoku Tensei openings each time so he just missed a bunch of plot lol
