I play very fast technical metal . Through a 30 45 min set my index and thumb Start cramping almost like a claw . I've tried to find some videos about using a stress ball to build up strength. There isn't much out there unfortunately :( ..Do you think it will work ? Will a stress ball eventually build up strength to where it won't hurt while playing anymore ?

Give me a little time and I’ll make you a video. That issue tends to get worse with time and stress. Keep your eyes open for the video for you!~Dr. Lou

@@Mainechiropractor so the stress ball wouldn't really work ? Maybe it's the entire playing style that's incorrect . All I know is I don't want to be totally unable to play that would be devastating . I look forward to your video .
      Thank you 🤘✌️

@@InstrumentalArcanum I am posting a link below for you and anyone else with finger cramping, to read. Like you, most guitarists with finger cramps have tried a bunch of exercises. If done consistently for a good period of time, and they still don't help, it's hard to say that they will help if continued. Details are important though, and if you are really concerned, this is something you should seek help for. If left unresolved, these types of issues can end careers. The exercise/stress ball may or may not help a bit, but because it mimics holding/squeezing the neck of a guitar to some degree, it may be making it worse. This is where details matter, and digging into the issues with a professional will help. Read the blog post and get back to me. I think that the idea of "PERPS" will make sense to you, and it's an important thing to think about very seriously. Best wishes, Dr.Lou www.drloujacobs.com/finger-cramping-guitar-bass-banjo-ukulele-violin-cello/
