From foot placement, to rolling vs stationary, Maurio breaks down everything about how he learned ollies, what runs through his head while he is getting ready to pop an ollie, and how the ollie applies to many other tricks in skateboarding. I can never watch enough ollie tutorials. I feel like it's the one trick never really master and there's so many nuances to it you can never know everything about it.

Even though I’ve got pretty solid ollies since I’ve been skating for almost 4 years now, I still watched the whole thing without no shame, Maurio is fascinating.

Key to keeping your solders hips and feet square is while rolling ...just turn your head and not your upper body to scope ahead while you ride pop lift and square.
The tip about dropping the front shoulder down and put a little more weight on the front foot drastically helped me ollie up bigger stuff. I found more board control doing this. And surprisingly I applied it to my other tricks like fs180 and they improved a lot, doing them up and down things.This is just golden. Thank you!

Best teacher. He surely can explain things. All pros are really good no doubt, but explaining and teaching stuff to people is a completely different skill. Maurio is both.

Really helpful tips there Maurio especially the shoulders dipping down front then back that alone has made my ollies so much better I wasn't doing that till now . Feels so much more controlled aswell! Cheers man best ollie tutorial for me and I've watched them all!! 👍

I found it really helpful to really stand on the balls of both my feet, really pushing my stance up, especially the front foot. Helped me land more clean Ollie’s and push the front foot forward while riding. Might be because I have large feet.

great video great advice. i hope this helps everyone who watches it. sometimes we want to learn something very quickly, but sometimes it just doesnt happen that way in skateboarding. youre learning a whole new way to walk almost. give yourself time to learn. dont give up.

Indys are such a safe bet no matter what deck you're riding always found thunders needed a certain deck so I was always chasing pros models that rode thunders for that fingers of flat and right kick Indys just work with everything nice heft pulls any deck out of the mush gutter

Tips on the pop?

When Maurio talks about foot placement and popping straight up, the video at 2:06 shows his board flipping slightly toe-side during the lift, but then levels out on the way down. Why is that happening? Is that normal for an ollie? I see the same thing when practicing my ollies, but I haven't gotten the front foot sliding properly yet, so the board doesn't level out the same way. The same thing does not happen at 3:04 for some reason, but can be seen at 4:34. The board also rotates slightly frontside, don't know if that's related?
