Aside from self-defence/coming to the aide of another individual(s)/extreme pre-emptive situations(which are rare for everyday people tbf), your/my right to throw my fist(s), ends at my/your face. I'll be honest, I just can't imagine attacking opposition fans at a match, simply over verbal insults or threats that said other fans are making, from behind essentially a line of stewards - Without even taking into account the moral/legal considerations. - It just seems slightly immature and completely uneccessary to me. If people are throwing shit, including coins, then that restraint would unsurprisingly be tested much further, I would even consider that to be a justified self-defence situation on some occasions depending on severity, but on just pure verbal insults alone, I can't see it tbh.

If you look carefully there was about 2,500 Stoke fans and about 300 of them reaction was to go straight to the Huddersfield fans to punch them but a wall of security stopped them!

Maybe Millwall, but by the 90's they weren't as bad as they were in the 80's. And only when they're at home too with the housing estate coming out. Cardiff were good but still overrated as I witnessed West Brom smash them. And as for Stoke, they were no mugs either but no way in the top 3.
