This video helped me jump from a disappointing first try to a fantastic second try! Thank you!
oh my! thank you so much! and I'm so happy the video helped you out!
@@LSEngravingdo you think a 200w will give better results faster?
Thanks for the mention of Patriot Nation Designs and for highlighting one of our designs! Keep up the great tutorials!
Thank you to Patriot Nation design for the file pack that everyone is now available to enjoy!
@@LSEngraving The code for the file no longer works. Any chance of getting it to work again so I can follow along with this tutorial?
@@melissaberkemeier9261 I tried too, and it doesn't work, so I figured it is a scam site and went somewhere else.
Some great pointers and tips in there. Thank you for the shoutout and helping me test the early stages of my calculator.
you're welcome!
Info for advanced user for sure. Valuable
thank you.
I watched about 50 reseller videos with zero actual information, thank you for making a video that really digs into the nuts and bolts of it. I'm about to engrave my first brass coins and I've been scouring the web for resources that will help get me on track quicker. I just bought my first laser engraver (60 JPT MOPA) two weeks ago and there is so much to learn, having videos like this really help get your head around some of the fundamentals of how this works!
Glad it was helpful! Thank you for watching and leaving a comment!!!!
Thanks a lot! This really helped me get started into brass engraving on my 60w mopa. It’s been a lot of fun.
Great to hear! Thank you for watching!!!!
Great information, this Part 1 video will help me improve on my coin game. Thanks and keep the videos coming!!
thank you!
Thanks for all your work my friend. i found this video very helpful. Keep up the great work
thank you sir! I'm trying! I REALLY appreciate the feedback!
Valuable video. Thank you very much.
You are welcome! Thank you for watching!
Great information 👌👌👌
Thank you sir!!
Thank you very much for this Video 👍
Thank you for watching!!
Thank you for such an informative video. And double thank you for the coupon for the file!!
Glad it was helpful! You are welcome1
This was a great tutorial. I have a Commarker B4 and I got a good result on my first try because of your help. Thank you!
awesome! what was your design?
I used the 2A coin for one side and a shall not be infringed coin on the other side. I had the alignment off. The engrave was not centered. I am doing it again with the alignment correct. I cut a template to hold the coin out of 3mm acrylic. Thank you again!@@LSEngraving
@@1vekeller be sure and run a fan to keep the acrylic cool so it doesnt melt
@@LSEngraving I bought some more files from Patriot Design. Those guys are great. I'm looking to get a tumbler. My friend offered me a vibratory tumbler that he used to use for his brass for reloading. He has someone else doing the reloading now and is giving me the tumbler. Would I be better off with a rotary or vibratory? The coins are coming out good, but I want to get a better look to them. Thanks for all your help.
Clear Acrylic? Awesome tutorial, thank you. Now I just need to make some time to nail my own machine specs.
yes! clear 1/4in cast acrylic!
Really nice series, learned loads. I'm guessing bottle glass.
negative!
Wow! By far the best I’ve seen, awesome work sir! I learned more about deep engrave in this one video than hundreds of all the other videos on CZcams. I wish I found you sooner!! But I’m just happy I finally did. I have sooo many questions for you!
I have a jpt 100w m7 and I’ve been kind of disappointed with the depth vs time but I’ve been staying around 200q and 67khz, I will try this tomorrow when I get in the shop hopefully I’m finally impressed with her. Thank you sir!!!
i have a 120w and i can get great depth at 7000mm/sec tweaking settings will def. help with that depth vs time ratio. i see many folks showing people to run too slow.
Yea see that also! whos got that kind of time lol, I stay around 3m to 4m/sec, what are your thoughts on why you use max q pulse? Is it just for the cleaner engraving or do you actually achieve the depth quicker?
Do you run quartz lenses? In the 120w. I have a 110 that shipped with the machine and have a 200 on they way now from cloud ray , it’s the ar100 quartz, extremely excited to finally have some tolerance in the focal length
@@redbeard680 using max q pulse will get max peak pulse power output, provided you are at max output frequency. so i run max q pulse and dial power back with the frequency, on the 120w 60f is the max output frequency (120w/1.5mj = 60) so i run about 80 freq to get close to max power and a smoother output
I think I may auction off that custom one of a kind t shirt!!!! lol.
I copied and pasted the coupon code, total cost was $0.00, can't wait to try this out on all my machines, even my CNC
awesome! I can't wait to see some pictures!!
*_All of this went right over my head. The only thing I got was 200X200mm lens._*
at least you got something! hahaha! 😁
Great info, nice to see someone actually go into the details of this and how it effects things.
At 35:45, is that calculator available that was used to get the other machine and lens settings?
I have a JPT 60w M7E with a 110mm and 175mm lens and would like to get the settings for that setup.
lasercalculator.com thank you!!
Another question. What effect does increasing the Q-pulse have on the engraving?
you want q pulse at max power setting for your laser source for max engraving power.
Awesome video! I can't seem to find the much anticipated "Part 2" video you mentioned about settings for deep slate though.. Would you mind posting a link? Thanks!
i ran into some health issues and haven't got around to the part too it's on my list though. Thank you for your patience and thank you for watching
@@LSEngraving I hope your health has improved!. If you have information about how you did the beautiful slate deep engraving of the Viking symbol could you please share it! Thanks for your informative videos.
thanks for all of the comprehensive info bro.... what the square thing on your shirt...a mic? radiation safety? im curious
Rode Wireless Mic. Thank you for watching!
Do you have any testing/settings info for copper coins?.
I have several copper 40mm coins that I bought before I discovered that Copper is NOT same as brass.
I tried tweaking the settings in this video for the copper coins, but, while it does engrave, it's VERY rough... Thanks!
i have not conducted in depth copper testing. I'll add it to my list!
@@LSEngraving Thanks, that would be awesome!
*for running OVER 256 passes* : It duplicates some of the layers, evenly spaced. If you did 384 (256 + 128) it would run every 2nd layer twice, for example. be sure to check out @makrtheory and subscribe! www.youtube.com/@MakrTheory
Thank you Patrick! I am very excited to share the things I have been working on with the community. Great stuff on the way!
Doesn;t work that way ..only with calculus
Great video, thanks for sharing your knowledge and expertise!! How do you find the beam quality, etc for the calculator? I have Haotian JPT 60W MOPA from Pascal Liu. Thanks!
Hey Tony, let's start from top, the output beam diameter at lens is 7 +-0.5 for all JPT MOPA, focal length is the number after f= written on your lens, wavelength is 1064 for all faser laser, and the beam quality M2 depends on the model you have, the JPT 20W and 30W MOPA have 1.3, the 60W exist in two versions: the E (Economic) has 1.5, and the full version has 1.4, for the 80W exists in two versions too: the E has 1.6 and the full has 1.4
excellent reply @merki thank you!
Thank you for watching @tony!
@@MerkiNet thank you!
@@MerkiNet How do you find it for your own laser? I just got a 50w JPT non-MOPA. Would it be on the included paperwork somewhere?
Appreciated
thank you. any feedback?
I started having a weird issue with my 30 watt raycus. On 3d sliced stuff. Using lightburn. My laser runs at the set power for first 3 passes then seems to lose power slowly each additional pass. Set it to 256 passes. Any help would be great.
I also noticed if I apply some pressure to the head where lens is mounted it seems to be operating at full power.
what size lens?
150mm
Any recommendations on settings for a 30w Raycus?
Great video BTW!
thank you! 30w raycus will have to go slower, take the 50w and slow it down and go from there. not so slow as to turn it black while engraving though.maybe 30% slower to start
cool! is this possible with a 50w fiber laser ? thanks
Yes, absolutely
The mystery plastic is Lexan or polycarbonate
I can't remember what your comment would be referring to! Sucks getting old! Lol
Anytime I use 3 D slice- my preview only shows a completely black image as the result- not sure the issue?
that's normal
@@LSEngraving so it will engrave correctly?
Is it possible to make a coin using photo of grandchildren? They would love it.
yes, it would be more difficult to do 3d, but def. could do a photo.
coupon code is dead. :(
Which one?
