  • I simply don't understand why content creators only show these end boards with Blue Tang, even though Sea Horse and Springirl can end on the same but with a different buildup to it. So in this video we'll show also those lines, so we all can master Marincess!
The support for Marincess has been around for a while now, but the deck is still somewhat meta relevant. This also came into the form of Zealantis that was in the Tearlaments box, but that will not be the monster we'd focus on today. In this video we'll be taking a look at some of Marincess's 1 card starter combos and how they can make their boss monsters.
We'll be looking at 3 different combos, with 3 different combo starters, but all end boards can be achieved by either monster, just in a different way. Which is the reason I am showing all 3 build ups. If you have the choice, always go for Blue Tang as it is able to bait out Ash twice (even though you'd might not want to be Ash'd on its Foolish effect.
Given the current Fire meta (Snake-Eyes, Fire King), this deck can be paired against it relatively well. Just make sure to run around, or more than 50% non-engine.
Lastly, if you guys really like this video, I'll make another Marincess guide going over its 2 and possibly 3 card combos. Let me know in the comments below and by tickling the like/subscribe button.
    -----------------------------------------------------------------------
    Disclaimer for these Basics guides:
    1) We pretend that only have the cards in the starters or searchers header in our hand and no other cards.
    2) We will ignore the opponents' hand, unless we need them to do something to show parts of our combo.
    3) The searchers specified will be able to kick-start the combo by fetching starters. It is possible we use search cards later in the combo that aren't specified in the searchers at the start.
    4) The presented decklist may vary from the used list in the combo tutorial, as for the tutorial we want to increase the odds of pulling the combo off.
    5) The presented decklists are taking the meta into account but are often different in hindsight. Also, certain cards (especially hand traps) can be easily switched out based on preference or meta relevancy.
The YuGiOh! Basics Series is a series of videos where we elaborately walk through different combo lines and combo strategies for different decks so you can learn how to win. Aiming to inform beginners of the deck, or just beginners to YuGiOh! in general and we perform these combos in Konami's YuGiOh! Master Duel, even though most combos work fine in the OCG/TCG too. We're hoping that these guides will give you the confidence of playing with a tier 0 deck, even though it is ranked slightly (or vastly) below that and not, as Seto Kaiba had put it, be a third rate duelist with a forth rate deck. Be as Yugi Moto, play, learn and believe in the heart of the cards!

I've updated the decklist, suited for the Snake-Eyes meta, which you can find here:

I'd like to see some lines that involve Zealantis, as it makes you summon all monsters you banish with its effect and some of your Marincess lock you into WATER special summons

That one is great going second, as it is a nice board clearer, for just the reason you mentioned. But it is hard(er) to make combo guides for going second strategies due to the interraction your opponent has on board. But I can look in to it.
However, there are decks that can use Zealantis as a combo piece (e.g., Ninja's post structure deck) turn 1, so I will definitely use it in those.

The funny part with zealantis is that it makes the turn player (you) summon the monsters back. That means when you have used coral anemone effect, it won't summon back anything that isn't water. Free board wipe.
