- Rise, Tarnished, and be guided by grace to brandish the power of the Elden Ring and become an Elden Lord in the Lands Between. Elden Ring takes place in the Lands Between, a fictional realm over which several demigods rule. It was previously ruled over by the immortal Queen Marika, who acted as keeper of the Elden Ring, a powerful force that manifested itself as the physical concept of order.
When Marika shattered the Elden Ring and disappeared, her demigod children began fighting over pieces of the Ring in an event called The Shattering. Each demigod has a shard of the Ring called a Great Rune, which corrupts them with power. In the game, the player character is a Tarnished, one of a group of exiles from the Lands Between who are summoned back after the Shattering. The player must traverse the realm to repair the Elden Ring and become the Elden Lord.

50:01 The answer to this problem is that, unfortunately, this enemy on horseback doesn't feel like it's built to be fought on Torrent. The lightning strike requires roll i-frames to dodge. Also, absolutely agreed that Torrent should default to Yes for re-summon.
57:22 I do think Torrent's HP increases as you level up. But enemy damage scales really high.

The i-frame explanation makes total sense. Horseback seems great for travel, and highly situational for combat.
you need to go back to the Astel arena to progress Ranni’s questline btw. There was a door there that was sealed by an oath, you picked up a ring of cold oath.
25:17 I think the bell bearing hunters are tougher than a lot of end game bosses. His heal punishes are brutal and he has basically infinite hyperarmor on all his attacks.
People say the bosses input read your controller but that’s not completely true, they just have branching combo chains that depend solely on your positioning relative to them, and a lot of them have programmed heal punishes and timed roll catches. This sounds like a bad thing but it’s actually good that you can predict, bait, and punish these moves once you understand them. For example the shield slam and follow up explosion is a branch, he chooses whether or not to do the explosion based on if you’re close, and it has a huge recovery time, allowing you to bait it out and get in a ton of damage.
The winged cracked tear you picked up is one of my favorite physick flask options, light roll is really powerful especially when you can wear armor too.
43:44 you assume too much my friend. it costs nothing but time to try it out! twiggy cracked tear prevents rune loss for three whole minutes.
52:35 DTS is tough, but fair. You gotta learn the moves man. Nobody is expecting you to walk up and first try every boss. And yeah there are a lot of moves that are not dodgeable on horseback. Try getting off the horse. Running around with torrent is nice for crossing large areas but for boss AI it basically just makes them spam all their most annoying attacks. You got MEGA salty this one, maybe you needed a break after the Bell Bearing Hunter haha.
3 min for rune loss is not terrible! Still think that other options are more helpful, though.
And yeah, I’m learning more about myself in times of stress than I expected, haha

There is actually a way to dodge the lightnings! If you dash with torrent around the boss right before the damage goes off. :) There have been a lot of no-hit runs through Elden Ring with a permanent sliver of health, and even with level 1 characters :P so it's 99% possible to avoid damage.

Yeah, Torrent is staying solidly as my dragon and Nights Cavalry counter, otherwise I’m dismounting!
Yeah.. your theory about Blaidd is correct. At least that's what they were afraid of. I think he mostly went mad because he couldn't find Ranni, be that for nefarious or helping reasons 😢 we will never forget Blaidd
The significant quest item for Ranni is the ring 😅 it's what you needed for the door after Astel ;)
He is certainly a tragic figure, even in the classical sense!
I think the lightning strike attack from the Tree Sentinel is dodgeable with your roll. If something doesn't work out on horseback, try it out on foot!

When ever you start feeling the salt in the wounds, I recommend thinking of one simple fact: Defeating every boss has one simple trick! Just being perfect at the game! 😂
