I just really love all your videos about Type 1 Diabetes. I just went on the Dexcom G6. It's amazing how wonderful it is and what a life changer it is. Living alone, after my husband died, I just needed something to tell me when my sugar is going low. I'm older and don't have the same feelings after being diabetic for so long! Anyway, thank you, thank you, thank you for sharing and helping us all out! All the best. . . . .

Oh I am so so so sorry. Lows are the worst at any time, but particularly awful when they're new and you're newly diagnosed. It's completely understandable you're depressed. Please hear and know that. And know that you will emerge. Try to do one thing every day that makes you feel good - it doesn't have to be diabetes related, in fact perhaps it would be better if it weren't! Take care of yourself and know that the tide will turn, and things will become so much easier. Truly I promise you this 💙💙💙

This is a game changer for me, by the time I woke this morning my sugars were 6.2 and already rising slowly. Had this for breakfast (using half a banana) took 1 unit novo rapid and by lunch I was at 6.6 only spiking to 8.2 in between. Usually I'd be experiencing a higher spike or be having to take a correctional dose with lunch.....and it tastes amazing, so win win, thanks for sharing 😃 x

This is a great suggestion for breakfast. I have an active job and before my diabetes diagnosis i never ate breakfast so it was hard to find something that wasn't too carb heavy and would keep my BG from dipping before lunch. This chia seed stuff is awesome. It took some chopping and screwing to get it right for me but it keeps me full and my BG sustained but not spiking.

Just side note... In the UK, you don't deduct the fibre from the carbs on the label as what you see is the net carb already (different to the US system). Sainsbury's do a nice grain free granola.. It's just seeds and nuts.. It's by The Paleo Foods Co. Off the top of my head 5.9net carbs per 40g serving.

Hi thank you, for the chia pudding idea😊 Was thinking about the carb counting. Do you subtract anything else from the fruits carbs or calculate different? I would think the carbs are much higher than 15g for the chia, banana and raisins cup. If I cover for 15carbs I would spike substantially 🤦🏻‍♀️
Banana (1 medium): 27 grams of carbs, 3 of which are fiber. Raisins (1 ounce / 28 grams): 22 grams of carbs, 1 of which is fiber

has anyone been following the bionic pancreas developments with beta bionics "ilet" system? It does both the insulin and glucose functions and is the worlds first complete closed-loop system. Looks amazing. The FDA have given it "breakthrough" status whatever that means so it is being fast-tracked through their process and is in either phase 2 or 3 of human trials. It basically means that this is the closest we will get to being normal before an actual cure. You can exercise and eat whenever and whatever you want and you don't have to worry about hypers and hypos as we do constantly today!! They are in the US and are talking to European companies as the founder of the company wants it available for everyone (he started the company after his little boy was diagnosed with Type 1 at 11 months old or something :(. I will move heaven and earth to get this!
