I seriously think these folks are one of those once a generation miracles that will never be duplicated. Last one for me was The Beatles.
I had the same realization a few days ago! The Beatles never disappointed...one winner after another...and I never had that feeling again until PTX.
The first time I heard PTX's version of this song, I had a thought that I literally thought I would NEVER have: "Somebody just outdid Elton John in an Elton John song!" This is THE perfect version of this beautiful song! This is also right about the time that Kirstie finally started coming out of her shell and putting on THE SHOW that is now (thankfully) so much a part of the Pentatonix Experience!!

Kirstie now letting it all hang out, her voice is beautiful. All have beautiful voices in their own right. Harmonizing is pitch perfect.. Mitch absolutely perfect. My favorite of them all.

Ireland has its beautiful parts and friendly people but when I visited America for the first time (Manhattan) I felt something I’d never felt before in all the countries I’d visited. 🧡 Pentatonix! Bravo. Bravo. Bravo. Where every other rendition of this song I've heard has had a pop flavor, this is angelic. I don't believe there is a cover that they can't perform by making it their own, and in all respects, performing it better than the original. And the sets! The fireflies at the end!

You are right, as usual, Disney should sign them right now for their next big blockbuster. For Pentatonix, as you already know, one runs out of adjectives. How many times and different ways can you say they are very special, wonderful, spectacular, etc., etc, etc. For me, watching a reaction video from a professional who then reacts to specific voices and arrangements makes me feel that when I first watched the video alone, and then see a professional spotlight those same areas makes me feel...happy and satisfied!

Dear Barry ☘️ love this cover which has a more sweepy quality than Elton John’s original. I would love for PTX to sing show tunes, one of my favorite musicals is Sweeney Todd, Sondheim is not exactly easy to sing but there are a few songs that are really special to me. And to think three of them (Scott, Mitch, and Kristen), were in the same high school choir.
We have to all thank Scott for coming up with the idea of getting them back together while in college, then finding a bass (originally Avi, now Matt) and seeing Kevin on CZcams demonstrating his beat boxing, and combining them all together to create a group that is greater than the sum of it's already considerable parts.
This was in the new version of the Movie.
