- This is a video about completing a 60,000 piece puzzle over 270 days.
This puzzle retails for $800.00. I bought mine from Costco for $600.00 but just saw it listed for $395.47 on rjpunlimited’s and shopezusa’s websites
Great job! It really looks amazing as a huge puzzle, but it's still a bit sad on the alignment. My puzzle was missing one piece in section 22. There's a girl on Facebook who was missing a lot of pieces! I believe in the hundreds. 😮 she got replacements, so that's good! My average per section was about 4 hours, I think. That's including taking a good 8 hours in that crazy bag 37! 😅 Well great job on completing this massive puzzle! 👏 🎉🧩 and great video!😊
Thanks! Crazy story about the missing pieces 😨 Definitely cool to be able to say I did the worlds largest puzzle again 😁.
Congratulations... This takes, courage and commitment!
Thank you. You got that right! But it was a lot of fun and satisfaction too.
very good, but this is actually like doing 60 time a 1000 puzzle in terms of complexity and not a 60.000 pieces puzzle (and complexity is not a linear function, so much easier)
Thanks, and you are correct. In general, the complexity would be a function of the number of pieces and how easily sortable it is. If I had to guess I’d say it would scale as O(NlogN). Given the repetitive nature of this image, this would be a very difficult puzzle to do all at once. This one might be closer to O(N^2). And the alignment issues between sections would only compound the difficulty. The most I’ve done is 6000 at once on other puzzles.
Has this puzzel been done or attemted in one go. See one guy doing a 42.000 puzzel, his half finished after 2000 hours, but this puzzel seemes much harder, so I would guess trippel of that for this puzzel, so maybe 12.000 hours.
@@bjorn2fly I’m not aware of anyone trying this (that 42000 piece video was cool!), and I think your estimate is pretty good. If each puzzle was completely separable from the others (e.g. if each one were a different solid color) then doing 60 puzzles would take about 60 times longer. If you mixed 60 puzzles with the same exact picture but different cuts together (no advantage from sorting) it would take 60*60 times longer because you’d have 60 times as many pieces and you’d have to search for a matching piece for each one. These bounds indicate that it will take between 60 and 3600 times longer than doing a single section. Because the image of this puzzle is repetitive, the scaling factor may be closer to 3600. It took me on average 3.5 hours to do a single section so 3.5*60*60 = 12,600 hours (very close to your guess) or 1.44 years of continuous work. Even if someone is attempting this, they wouldn’t have had enough time to complete it yet. And the misalignment between the sections would add another dimension of complexity.
I agree. The guy that mixed all the pieces for the 42,000 piece puzzle did a true 42,000 piece puzzle. It becomes more difficult when all pieces are mixed to find the piece you need. Having the puzzle broken into sections makes it easier because you look through fewer pieces for what is needed. Take the true challenge and mix all the pieces together first, then put it together!
I love the size of your puzzle table and the kid singing was special. ❤
Thanks. I just take over the dining room when there’s a puzzle to do. Used to do the big ones on a ping pong table, but don’t have one anymore. My little helper there was in charge of putting in all of the taped sections, and he surprised me with putting in a few pieces the normal way too.
Great job ,it looks beautiful 🤩
Thanks!
Hi, I'm doing the same puzzle right now. I just completed #20. Only one missing piece so far. They sent me the whole bag of #19 to find it. I really enjoyed your video, and it has taught me a lot about this puzzle and what to expect. Thanks so much!😊
Thanks! I kind of miss having another section to do now that I’m done. Enjoy completing yours. And good luck on #37😉
Wow! Dude that’s super impressive! 💚
Thanks! 😁
Tremendous work man. I only wished I had the space to bang this out
Thanks. I actually liked that it came in 1000 piece sections so that it didn’t require a lot of space to do. Some of the other people that completed this puzzle that didn’t have a room big enough to assemble the whole thing completed each section individually and then temporarily assembled it on their driveway.
Nicely done. Congratulations! 16:34
Thank you.
Holy that's awesome
Thanks
Very neat 👌 😮good job today tue the Sept 19 I finished the first time a 300 puzzle in about a week
Thanks. And congrats on your puzzle!
