- In this video, I show a very simple sweatshirt redo. It is a cardigan style jacket that is very versatile and can be worn with many outfits. I would consider this a beginners project. Thanks so much for watching!

What a great idea! Cant wait to do something like this with a couple of my own sweatshirts.
LOVE your sweatshirt videos! Any chance you could show yourself wearing the item you create?
Yes. Wearing it or if you have a dress form to show it on so we can see it better would be great for those like me who hesitate to begin cutting into a sweatshirt. (I’d probably end up with it in pieces. 😳 😱 lol ). Thanks. Love the idea.
OUTSTANDING! 🖤🤍🖤
I love this, & so simple to do. I have a navy sweatshirt I've never worn. This would be a great idea for it as its something I'd wear often. I think a cardigan is so much more useful than a sweatshirt.
Agreed! I love the cardigans. This is a simple transformation. Thanks for watching, Julia
Thank you. I still have not got the nerve to try one. But so many ideas in my head. ❤
Find a sweatshirt at a thrift store and give it a try. I think you will be happy with the results. Once you do it once it's not so scary cutting into a shirt. Thanks so much for watching, Julia
So cute and practical!
Thank you Julua for all your great ideas Thanks!
Thank you so much for supporting my channel and small business. It means so much. Julia
Loving that Julia. One of my all-time favourites from you ! Great colour and style, thanks for sharing.
Yes, love the grey!
I'm so glad you like it. So simple to do and a great style to wear. Thanks for watching and commenting!
I love this, and you make it look easy enough to try!
That is cute. Very handy. Nicer than your basic hoodie, but not delicate so it can be worn without remorse.
I am going to go to Goodwill and get myself an oversized sweatshirt .... thank you !!!
I hope you give it a try. It is a easy but effective. Thanks for watching, Julia
Thank you!🤗🙌
Julia, I love a sweatshirt cardigan. They're so practical...a third layer that isn't a sweater. (I have cats) This one is so pretty and inspires me to to do this with a recently purchased sweatshirt that was advertised as 100% cotton, but isn't. I find synthetic fibers uncomfortably warm but maybe tolerable opened down the front. Love the way you opened and finished the side slit....lots of really good ideas! Thank you for sharing your artistic visions.
Hi, It is so hard to find 100% cotton sweatshirts. The one I used in this video is 80% cotton and 20% poly. It is a Comfort Color and style #1566. Comfort Colors recently came out with a new style #1466 that is 100% cotton. It is lighter weight.
@@stitchesbyjulia Thank you, I will look at that style.
Love it!! Can’t wait to make some. Thank you for sharing ❤
Thanks for watching, I hope you give it a try!
THAT IS A MUST TRY!!
Thank you for watching! I hope you give it a try!
Great idea, can’t wait to give it a try.
Thank you so much for watching! I hope you give it a try.
So cool! You have the best ideas ❤❤❤
Thank you!
Love it !!
♥️🙏🏻❤️🙏🏻
Hi. Awesome 👌. Thank you for sharing.
Thanks for watching!
Cute and easy
Thank you! 😊
You are so inspiring!
Thank you!
Very cute
Thank you! 😊
How cool!!! I wonder if I could do that with an old hoody! The hood would probably need to be cut off, yeah?
I used the pockets off a super old zip up sweatshirt for my husband's pocket less sweats! 😂 He loves those things now!
These videos just make me want to try! They're so encouraging.
Thanks Julia, have a great week!
Brenda ❄️❤️
Hi Brenda, I'm going to have to experiment with taking a hood off a hoodie. I've never done it but it has to be doable. Thanks so much for watching, Julia
Very cool, functional design. I bought 5 of those sweatshirts and embellished for myself. Love the fabric content and worn look. They are so warm and comfy. How many of these could I use? Daily wearing is what I'm working toward. Great for sleeping as well.
I'm so glad you like the Comfort Color sweatshirts! I love them. A bit more pricey but so worth the money. Thanks for watching! (p.s.- you can never have too many sweatshirts)
As usual, another Super Sunday video! ❤❤❤
Love it!
Thank you!
Black white and grey! Love it!
Beautiful 😍
You are so creative💕
Thank you! 😊
Oh Julia, This has got to be one of my fav of all your projects! I've got to do this and the gray and black - Oh My!
I'm so glad you like it. Very simple design and easy to do. I hope you give it a try:)
I love your videos, so helpful. I was wondering if you have ever cut the hood off and turned it into a collar? Not a fan of the hood, but hard to find shirts without it. Thank you
Hi, I will have to experiment on an old hoodie. I have never tried to remove a hood but there has to be a way. Thanks so much for watching, Julia
Thank you so much Julia for all your help. Love your videos, so very helpful!
Hi Julia - I love this shirt idea. It turned out so pretty. Will have to remember this when I get an oversized sweat shirt.
The thin strips look awesome. Hugs! 💕🧵
Hi Pam! Hope you give it a try. It's very easy to do. Have a great weekend. Julia
So nice an suttle! I love using the blanket stitch on my appliques as well.
Love the blanket stitch:)
Hi Julia! Love your redo videos. This cardigan is very trendy. Thanks for the inspiration!
Thank you!
Good morning! Thanks for the great ideas! ❤️
Absolutely adorable
Thank you!
Beautiful. Video shared. 🐞🐞🐞
Thank you so much for sharing!
Lovely, Julia, as usual. Thank you so much for sharing your creativity!
Your video was the nudge I needed to re-make an almost new pull over sweatshirt I never wear. I did not catch however how you finished the side vent banding. I saw the applique stitch on the fleece part but did you go back and add that to the ribbing?
Hi, I'm so glad this video inspired you to re-make one of your sweatshirts. I have tried finishing the band with different stitches without much luck. The band tends to stretch. I leave the band unfinished. It is a stable knit and does not fray. Hope this helps, Julia
Beautiful Julia. So many good ideas. What size switshirts do you use, or for this one? Thks.
HI, This is a size XL. These sweatshirts run big ( especially the larger sizes) Also- very little shrinkage.
@@stitchesbyjulia Could you tell me what the actual measurements are for the XL so I know how much ease is included. I looked at the size guide on the amazon page but it never mentions the ease.
@terrychristens9110 Hi, I just measured one of my XL. Laying flat on a table, it measures 25.5” across the front below the armhole. It measures 22” at the bottom band. There is very little shrinkage in these shirts. Let me know if you need more measurements. Julia
