What he said about setting up schools is so key. We need schools that teach facts and gets students to know how to think critically. The students need to have an understanding of their God-given gifts so they can flourish instead of being in boring dead-end jobs.
When Akala speaks, you listen. End of!
👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾
+Haze DC hate is another form of love
He has a lot of built up guilt and identity problems.
Akala is that G. Always spitting knowledge.
RealVersatile you’re right
Knowledge is power and Akala knows how to feed people’s soul. Currently reading natives.
*How did you find it?*
@@haza123b4 I'm only four chapters in but it's a very good read. A mix of autobiography and social history. Easy to read and digest too but make sure you jot down some of the references cause there are a lot that are worth checking out.
@@freejazzandcheese1 *Good book with interesting insights.*
This man is oozing with knowledge it's unreal. Real G
lol
Yes his knowledge and wisdom may seem unreal. But you know what? Its very real. He is the outcome of his own very deliberate objective, struggle and self determination. He tells us this, in the humble and open way he presents himself. A young man, full of directed intellect and energy, a fine example for those of us who who feel undervalued, missed out, misunderstood, mislead, angry. Akala epitomizes the old adage, 'knowledge is power.' A great example for young and old. Thank you for your example and inspiration Akala.😊💜💛😂.
This is so true whenever you tell the truth dealing with racism you become a target and accused of being a racist🤦🏽♂️
I would say I could listen to him all day so I'll change it because I blast akalas music everyday no lie so I could listen to him TALK all day big up salute to akala
He sees everything from everyones prespective. Awesome insight and knowledge
wilscape:
Me too! I've actually heard only a few of his songs, but I could listen to him talk all day, because he always drops nothing but some truth and real talk.
Facts
Elis Jones you’re right
Yah its true you eat healthier your mind clears up I've tried it myself
diandra raymond really I’m going to start eating better.
The bit about a racial specific solution is so true. When Trevor Philips went to Chicago about 15 years ago to interview a group of African American men about their organisation in a mainstream school to educate the male children separately and suggested the same thing be adopted here in Britain with young black boys, the white population were up in arms about it. They saw it as the boys getting special treatment above their white boys. It made national news and was aired on one of those morning programmes. Now I'm hearing a lot of criticism from white people who say that we need to sort out our problem (which is what Trevor Philips suggested) and a general indifference for what is taking place. We cannot afford to sit and wait for white people's approval, we know what is needed and we should be prepared to act on it in the face of their criticism. I will also say that it's a struggle with some of our own who only care about their individual self and in some cases fight against the good that some are doing or simply just not giving their support.
Thank you for the upload. Listening to Akala is always a blessing.
he probably only dates white women lol
@@henryfung9725 actually, he's in a relationship with a black woman..
does he hate whtie women?
@@henryfung9725 ..his mum is white so i doubt it.
i wonder if he would ever date a indian woman. i mean if an indian woman only dates indian men and not black, she is accused by black men as racist, so if he only dates his white/black race he is racist too. just like the women black men accuse.
wow, this man is so real and true about his view and feeling, that's awesome, respect.
He's successful without being mainstream. Not just HipHop with the ego, all music. But if you know your worth distribute it yourself. Which you can
I saw a lot of not mainstream rappers starting making mainstream music once they got relatively successful.I'm glad that Akala is not one of them.
i'm white english guy and i think this guy is fantastic.
I Respect this MAN, Knowledgeable Brother!!!!!!!!!
THANK YOU EXACTLY WHAT I HAVE BEEN SAYING....too many people push for achieving wealth when it's not what they truly want they just are programmed to believe that and when they achieve it they realise they are not happy
nice to hear someone keeping their head! love from wales
This is how I remember us. You give me hope Akala
So much respect for brother Akala
I can't respect and love Akala any more than I do. One of the most important voices for people of color (especially) to come out of the UK.
I feel a talk with akala would teach me as a white guy growing up and raising my daughter in london about thing I need to know and actually how to focus her how to succeed in this world, much love brother.
Sam Clark that’s deep
He's a good man, believes in education to succeed out of working class poverty, something which i firmly believe, a modern day hero, much love man.
Sam Clark truth
I love him too, but trust me in London there are many Akala's if you're not Iinked in changed your friends

Akala is the epitype of who a young blackman should look like and what a young blackman should talklike.
@Antz hudz Because he calls himself a black man shut up.
Bring that good stuff Akala
💯 respect my young brother Akala
You don't need to explain yourself to anyone who are they for you to have to explain yourself to them or anyone to you..do what you do ..stay strong but be humble ♡
not only in music but in most things if you dont conform and you dont sell out. its the same thing. no honey for you. give thanks and praise.
Real talk.
Respect from Bristol brother.
He reminds me so much of his mentor Robin Walker.
this dude 💎💎💎💎💎💎💎💎
People need to go and listen to more Malcom X. everything akala is saying Malcom said quay back.
Akala is more modern with his views and opinions, at least. If you only listen to things from the past, you'll get stuck in the past.
Malcolm x...!! X was used by Islam. Read history...what has islam done for Africa!! Islam invaded Africa 800 years before Europeans got there. Islam has enslaved 100 million + Africans..raped ..killed etc. Since the 8th century...& to think Malcolm X pushed Islam on African Americans!! In the Koran there is even a derogatory word for Africans. Malcolm x was right on many things...but Islam..sorry No.
X was a puppet !!
If he has been influenced by the likes of Malcolm and others, that is a good thing. The torch must be handed down to every generation until we finally get it. Until then the struggle continues.
People aren't listening to Malcolm. so you need young blood who the youth might relate to today.
@@enoch6450 Very wrong man. True Islam was created by the ancient Kemetians who were Blacker than Malcolm X. So I don't really understand your point.
great message, nice one man : ) I wish everyone would play around making music, it's great way to keep busy and make friends, use imagination : )
I always appreciate and feel inspired listening to Akala.
Agreed
100% real talk
One of the best spokes persons i know!
I tell you, if he ever decided to become a politician, I'd vote for him in a heartbeat. A genuine polymath genius.

the liver and emotions connection is funny never heard that before .
TCMWord.ORG The Liver/Gallbladder According to the Five Element Theory. According to Traditional Chinese Medicine, the Liver is the organ responsible for the smooth flow of emotions as well as Qi and blood. It is the organ that is most affected by excess stress or emotions. ... TCM says that strength comes from the tendons, not muscles.
Can Akala just be Prime Minister already ffs?!
Quarn Akala real guy
Wat is akala toch n ongelofelijke fantastische gozer
Fuckin hell, I do youtube and have morals about honesty, the problem is "clickbait" type of media /'sensationalism" controls this market, rather then quality content.
Very transparent open and honest is therapeutic 💫 Truth sets you Free✌🏽
Our modern day nelson Mandela, luther king and malcom x (big ups to akala)
Omg I love this man... he gives me hope and why is he not up there withJeremy corbyn running the country fighting for a better world!!
why dont you do it?
cos I'm just a middle aged woman who no one would listen to :))
What do you think mental health diagnosis is like in Botswana?
The simple solution, would be for him and the organisations he criticises, to stop playing identity politics and concentrate on the individual. The individual is sovereign.

🤗🌍💚👊🏻💯
This is jus tooooooooooo reeeeeeeaaaaaaal...not even a spec of fake
Very wise words...at 21 and when young the mind is also young and can be tainted; brainwashed at such a young age and manipulated...
WHOA! This title did NOT cover what he talked about at all. Thankfully so, cause I was hoping for more insightful stuff indeed.
Hard to condense a conversation title in 100 characters or less. Glad you got the insight from our interview
Oh not to knock the attempt to give a catchy title whilst still covering some of what's actually being said! It's a tough balance to strike, I'm sure. I was just happy it was still a great interview.
I love this man
Akala for Prime Minister
Wise man!!
Integrity is all.
Full interview
Moving like a youth club leader :)
So... Aka La will throw away knighthood or OBE (if it’s ever given to him!)? That’ll prove his mettle. Poet & organic intellectual Benjamin Zeph did exactly that 👍
He has a few good points...but like many in the main stream...he uses it to fit his own narrative. For example...he is talking about Hip Hop..the biggest labels in Hip Hop are owned or run by African Americans..Death Row..Aftermath..suge knight etc.
Akala has done it in the past also when talking about African History etc. He misses out certain bits of info. Overall he is good though.
He shares some similarities with J. Cole
❤️💕❤️
10 Dislikes from short "attention span" dummies. 😂

@Haze DC You're excellent, welldone haze! I found a great website that may help you www.fleet-tutors.co.uk/application 👍
Good point. why is there no racial specific solutions but only racial specific policing.
Deuteronomy 28 v 28-29 The Lord shall smite thee with madness ,and blindness, and astonishment of the heart.vs 29 And thou shalt grope at noonday,as the blind gropeth in darkness, and thou shalt not prosper in thy ways; and thou shalt be only oppressed and spoiled evermore and no man shall save thee. the Bible is our history book ,keep the commandmets and get blessed .
you're Miss Dynamite's little brother, that's why you're in media, you don't need to sell out
I love this man. Definitely not "a bit of a plum" 😉
Respek akala you dun know stay true to yourself brother love that
Our parents were extremely idiots, compared with their owners hehe...
whos suggested and whos opposed black schools? has that even happend
Invest.
Hasn't been keeping an eye on the explosion of opioids in hip hop then. They are glorifying the bobby akala just because it's in a different form in a cup don't get confused.
