I really like that John Deere 8RX tractor. That four track fixed frame is really cool to me as a tractor fan. It seems a lot like when CaseIH came out with the Quadtrac in 1997 on a articulated tractor frame, but on a fixed frame that's pretty cool. I know CaseIH has the Magnum Rowtrac, but this is even better. Great video.
VERY nice setup there. I've noticed that row crop tractors, whether it's JD or Case IH, are going up in horsepower quicker than the higher horsepower tractors. I'm sure the high horsepower tractors will be increasing their horsepower soon. Don't really have a choice. Thanks Jason!!👍👍
Given that everything is going “high speed” these days, horsepower is probably one of the biggest things, if not the biggest requirement farmers will ask for. I would think an 8rx would be the biggest beneficiary of a 450 and a 500 hp option. I think it is the perfect tool for planting given the benefits tracks provide for compaction and traction. Just need to make sure it can pull whatever it is pulling at the speed the farmer wants. Then you can heavily use it in the fall for grain cart or tillage.
It is a good planting team. It can cover 80 acres between refills. I think they try to get across 250 acres a day. With the 8RX 370 and 8400R on DB60s they will get over 500 acres.
I have videos showing the DB120, DB90 and DB80 as well. These planters include a 48 row 30 inch on the DB120, a 54 row 30 inch and 36 row 30 inch on the DB90 and 32 row 30 inch on the DB80. All very interesting to watch.
It would be interesting. I have a new RT filmed. Over all this 8RX is not going to be beat. It’s so smooth to drive and turns do tight. It’s an ideal planting, grain cart and tillage tractor. I will put together an 8R, 8RT, 8RX video this year
Good looking tractor and planter. Is the farmer planting corn or beans? I ask because at the start you show a close up of the planter as it went past you. it looked like the last row planted and the first row being planted are almost on top of each other. GPS glitch or something else?

What is the purpose of the daytime running lights on a tractor? Never seen that before, and never noticed it on other 8 RX machines I have seen in videos. Is that something new or did this operator have them on manually for some reason? I have yet to see one anywhere we drive and that covers a lot of area. Not sure why either as there are several 9RX machines around.

The 8RX is an impressive tractor. Very smooth ride, tight turning and lots of traction. If I was farming it’s what I would pick for a planting tractor.
tracks are waste of money in USA where you can drive with duals on public road, tracks are better for europe where we have bad laws for farmers and tractor can be max 2,55 meters width

It’s amazing how Macbeth has advanced. I like finding the 60’s and 70’s machinery still in use to share the history.

Saw one of these on a lowboy at the local Peterbilt dealer. It is bigger than I thought based on the videos I have seen.
It is a good sized tractor. It’s amazing these 8RX tractors are physically bigger than 4wd articulated tractors 30-40 years ago.

The 4wds are going to make a big jump in the next three years. A very big jump from where they are today.

Not really. It’s only 60 feet. Deere makes all the way up a 120 footer

LEDs are cheap to leave on and last forever. Maybe cheaper than having an off switch? Just a guess.
All the 8RX and 8R gen 3 tractors I have filmed have the day time lights. The new AFS Magnums do this as well.

It has nothing to do with going down the road. It's about compaction and tracks are better for compaction.
Tracks are never a waste. In the field they offer better traction and flotation. This tractor drives smoother that wheels.
