This is Korea's largest hidden slum, Guryong Village. One of Seoul’s best-kept secrets and one of the last things you would expect to see in the wealthy district of Gangnam. Guryong village is now an enormous shanty town in the heart of the city as a result of thousands of citizens being pushed out of their homes in the 1980s.

Honestly, I can differentiate the discipline of the people in a country just based on their slums. This slum is still very organized and less chaotic. Don't ask my country has one of the most chaotic slums. It's a headache to look at.

The people 'living' there are all squatters, and have no right to live there in the first place. The land is extremely valuable (hundreds of thousands in u.s. dollars per square meter). They can't be forcibly evicted, for the human rights reasons, and even though already offered a huge sum as compensation they are refusing to move out demanding even more compensation for giving up their squatter's right. They may look poor, but they are already millionaires for just being there. Things are not what they appear to be.
