The sponge thing is because your in a desert biome, it dries the sponge instantly
Yep
It does the same thing in a ice biome

Dak Zevon it also immediately dries when placing a wet sponge in the nether!

I literally need to cut down a forest to show one of these cool builds
Burn it down? If ur structure u built is made from a flammable block just spam water and grab some sponges for after
Kryptic Keira tysm
There is something called a “plains” biome
I cut forests down anyway
@@capy9846 but plains biome is yucky grass
I actually really like the water logged leaves, you could make a pond filled with algae
Better to put some waterlogged leaves on the outside but sporadically, that way it looks like the pond is just getting a little algae. Maybe different leaves for some randomness.
I've always liked glowstone underwater, or sea lanterns, then leaves above. Did that before the waterlogging, might look even better now. Maybe I'd even try the new sea cucumbers and see how that works out.

Seeing him replacing the blocks in the cave to make a nether cave reminded me of a project I'm doing. I'm replacing a village (and blocks around it) with their nether counterparts. Though, I guess it's a little boring since I'm doing it in creative, but it still looks cool.
THANK YOU for your attitude and approach to building. I've had the game since 2011 and I have forever felt pressured to improve my building skills. Until now I felt so disappointed that I've not grown in this skill. Thank you because now I can peacefully not care.
i feel like toycat just comes up with these as he goes, but im not even disappointed or anything lol
To Toycat: You forgot to put the seed in the description!
i covered my ravine in dirt and my friend decided to dig down without realizing,
my friends all decided to sue me and took all my diamonds and now im in poverty.
Not only is the glass ravine a nice way to admire your ravines, but it my just save you from being sued
12:57 "You don't take fall damage when falling through an end portal". I had this idea a few days ago actually. I jumped into the hole and was at two hearts when I got to the other side. On Java, you need a bit of water at the bottom.

Word of the Day: 'Proactive Laziness' expending a lot of effort now to save a lot of effort later.
I love this.
I think the cover-the-river-in-leaves trick would work really well in a swamp biome
I have a question
Edit: just to clarify im asking the viewers not toycat
Do you really want a cave update or you just say it because its a popular opinion?
Me really wants it. A lot of people do obvs
1. toycat is yes
2. have you watched any of his cave update videos???
Hes been begging for a while
He has wanted a cave update for a very long time, not just because it’s a very popular opinion.
@@thepotatoemaster6865 i have but im asking the viewers
“It really wants me to have silky touches”
You can break grass blocks with a silk touch book and get the grass block rather than a dirt block, it's supposed to work with other blocks as well like glowstone blocks but I don't know the value of this information. Still, sometimes it's better than using a tool with the enchantment.
I appreciate your narration style. It's humorous and casual and I don't feel talked at.

I wish minecraft rivers would flow. I doesn’t sound to hard and it would really amp up the inviromeng
Hey that sounds like a great Minecraft project, making a flowering river
With water physics in the game, the length of most rivers, the amount of processing the game uses for flowing water, and the height limitation available, you could make a flowing river but it won't flow all that far. You'd get about 6 blocks in a horizontal path (less if it's curving) before you'd have to drop another level. If you're starting at the 60ish y level, that means your river can be a maximum of 348 blocks long before it definitely hits bedrock or 360 if you can break bedrock. That's completely straight, so the natural look would not exist. Still, you could make a river far shorter - about 200 blocks - that would look natural and have a winding path all the way to bedrock by just curving your river by 1 or 2 blocks each y layer. Any shorter for the flat length starts to look like a waterfall, any more movement will shorten the length.
Still, natural water tends to not be perfectly pretty. Could be really cool to just experiment.
I LOVE building bridges over ravines, it adds so much to the world
These are all super creative ideas! Love em.

"If you like the evironment you probably like BOOKS"
That makes sense, right?
Love your videos! Help me get through the Chaos of 2020
Man you nailed my style head on!
I’ve always loved the natural beauty within Minecraft and do a lot of these almost always.
on java fall damage is still persistent after going through an end portal, had tested it a bunch since I had that idea of jumping into the end portal from the top, but right as you go through the end portal, the fall damage kills you right on the obsidian platform, you will probably lose a bunch of items if survival is the first time trying that

YOU AGAIN
COULD NEVER FORGET
Seeing this video made me want to do Minecraft CZcams videos. I rarely build myself a home. I renovate a natural village (level landscape, remodel homes, etc) and do other natural projects instead. Smoothing out mountains and leveling landscape is 85-90% of my Minecrafting. There is something uniquely satisfying about turning a disastrously spawned village into a work of art.
Wow, I've done most of these. Glad to know I'm not the only one who tries to build into/with the world!
Instructions unclear. Pushed my friend into a ravine and his stuff burned in lava
"Have I naild you down as a person yet?"
Hmmm, environmentalist, no
Books, yes
Bookshelves, yes
Majority rule states that you did.
I started a new world and built a log cabin near spawn where a river met a lake. The lake was really shallow and mostly dirt or gravel for the lake bed. I drained it and shaped it into a more natural lake and used sand to make it look better. Once filled I used bone meal to create sea grass, coral and kelp. After everything was finished the lake looked 100% better in every way. Such a simple thing to do that makes your Minecraft world that much more enjoyable.

The campfire bridge would've used a lot of wood
I've stopped survival vanilla Minecraft around 1.10, tree farms are still a thing right? Because most builds are near impossible in survival vanilla Minecraft without farms.
The wet sponge thing is because when sponges are placed in the desert they immediately dry out so it’s constantly being turned into a wet along and then back by the flowing water
I've connected three or four abandoned mineshafts that I've fixed up with my diamond mine. I like taking out the walls between the tunnels though. I also like creating/extending caves by taking out the gravel. That's fun.

Yoooooo, that house is sick toycat!!!
I really like the leaves over the river idea, it reminds me of duckweed
Not first cause toycat
That leaf over the river has AoE shallows vibes, given me an idea. Thanks.
Thanks for this I genuinely need this for my minecraft world!
I cleared out and repurposed a mansion as a full size base, flint&steel, and an efficiency 4 diamond axe were extremely useful!
The glass ravine is fun and all, but really you should use multiple layers of stained glass, it gets really trippy.
Also, toycat is yes
One thing that I didn't know yesterday is that you could get to the end portal by digging straight down, thanks!
Giving my boi that watch time. All the best to Nicole, sounded in your lets play for the week like something bad happened in her family. ❤❤❤
Edit: oh hell yeah, i love projects that enhance the natural world! I even did the glass ravine one in my current world :) that campfire bridge one is genius:)
In hot biomes like deserts, sponges will not turn into wet sponges because they dry out! So that’s a cool little feature that you can you find out if you put wet sponges in a desert biome!
I've actually done something with ravines like the first one, I stuck glowstone and capped lavafalls down the wall of it to light it up at night, it was very cool
In my current world, I had a stronghold at spawn with surface access via a cave. I turned it into my main base and I did indeed turn the library into my enchanting setup ☺️
Everyday, Toycat slowly goes more insane over the cave update.
For the spooky cave you should replace all the ores with nether gold ore and quartz and replace dirt with soul sand or soil.
Made my day better:)
My favorite number is 12 though! Lol great list I have more ideas for sure
Idea: when u find those big underground ravines in with just a buncha lava at the bottom, cover all the lava with glass. Its a natural light source and it looks cooler than just torches on top of obsidian :D
@ibxtoycat Im pretty sure once the nether update released wet sponges would automatically be dried in any hot climate and not just the nether. However it is something that "actually" happens
I’m so hyped for 1.17 and thought that the height limit would change but not the ground limit this is poggers
came out at a perfect time
maybe the real friends were the diamonds we ignored along the way
Yes
As soon as I saw the sponges reacting to flowing water I knew they are going to create a more realistic waterfall in my world. I want to do a huge dramatic waterfall inspired by niagra falls and I need the water to look more like raging waters.
