Oh, snap it’s Evans I was just watching a couple of your videos this morning I enjoy your contact, especially when you’re working on Hardtail’s lol getting back to the bike it could be a jumper, but I’m mostly a trail rider. I am a full standup rider and I’ve learned to ride with just one break. I’ve been doing this for years. You have great contact by the way.
My chain guide got yeeted into the woods! I also had the same experience with my crank on a Supercaliber 9.6 had to be warranties out on the second ride due to a stripped crank having play to it.
watching you reassemble the bike with the calming music was almost therapeutic! really wish i was able to build my bike. i can barely take the tires off myself. i'd love to learn more about how to do all this stuff myself
Thank you I appreciate you taking the time to watch my video working on a bike is pretty easy once you’ve done it once or twice but even for me, take off the tires can be very difficult depending on the rim. You should see how the bike looks now. Watch my latest bike video and then you could also follow me on Facebook. and chat with me through messenger.😊
@@hardtailrider7172 wow, thanks for replying! I actually also have a Roscoe 9 and that's what drew me to your video. I'm watching videos on how to hot wax the chain so I'm gonna try and learn to do that
Dang, you got your marlin down 21 lbs? That's sick! That's probably why the Roscoe feels heavy, the roscoe is a trail/all mountain. *Man, you got your Roscoe down to 25 lbs, that's amazing man.
Hello, I really like the looks of the Platt CF seat and wondering how it is for comfort? I see them on Amazon and I'm tempted to try it out. Thanks for any input you can provide, worth it or not?
Yo! Another great video brother! Thinking about ordering a Marlin 7 Gen 3. Seems like a good price point and above a starter grade MTB. Thanks for the great content! 😎🤘
Nice video. I liked the music you chose for the rebuild. I was hoping you would make the build faster and lighter by using higher quality parts instead of removing 4 pounds of components. I saw you added some higher quality parts. Any chance you could do a similar video but add back on, high quality parts you left off? Curious on weight and performance then. Thanks for making the video.
I appreciate you taking the time to watch my video. No the bike was built for my style of riding . it’s definitely not for everyone. The only thing I think I would never book back on is a dropper post. That’s because I’m a full standup rider. I will be thrown back on the four piston calibers my 1 XTR brake. it’s coming off and that will be explained in my next video for good reason and my budget is split between three projects, biking high end, RC build and drag racing so my bike budget is down for now, but more higher in quality parts will be going on the bike, but like I said, not a dropper post. Thank you for watching again I appreciate it.
Just throw on some carbon wheels. That drops the rotating weight 200 grams per wheel, almost 1lb. 1lb of rotating weight is equal to 8.4 pounds of static weight.
I'm curious why you didn't just buy a good frame and build the bike up that way? Also, I own the same bike so I would love to see a list of upgrade components! Maybe listed in the description? I was planning to upgrade mine over time as things break.
Good question, because it wouldn’t hurt to have extra spare parts lying around and plus the components on a bike are a lot cheaper if you just buy the whole bike as compared to sourcing it out
Interesting build, you probably purchased the wrong bike. A procaliber would have suited your needs better and been lighter right out of the box. Our 2023 Roscoe is 27lbs and a complete trail bike, not missing parts to cut weight. Curious of what terrain you usually ride? - Tyson
Double black diamond trail’s and the precaliber head tube angle, is too steep for me even though the Roscoe comes with a 65 head tube angle, I’m running it at 60° where I found the sweet spot for me but if you check out my channel, you can see the bike has completely changed to be built as an Enduro bike
Like the operation oñ bike ...this makes sense maybe yr rite 😮 who assembled this from Taiwan in first place... there's meant to be a ✔️ then a ✔️ then a ✔️ with quality control... 👌 I wonder? @@hardtailrider7172maybe install a smaller downhill cassette and derailleur and keep the front brake. You’d save a bunch of weight going to like a 7 speed downhill setup, and you clearly don’t need the huge granny gear where you’re at.
Thanks for the advice I’ve actually been looking for 7speed cassettes that will except micro spline i’m working on my bike as we speak and the XRT brake is coming off. it worked great for my 21 pound bike but I guess 3 pounds more can make a difference and especially the weight of the rims and tires compared to my old set up so yes, I’m most likely gonna throw the four pistons back on even in the front instead of 180 in the back, I’m gonna go with 160 rotor and then the front drop it down to a 180
@@hardtailrider7172 seems they only make 10 speed downhill still for microspline. But looking at the cassettes, they’re literally half the weight of a 12 speed microspline cassette.
Nice build but losing the dropper and using that saddle is counter intuitive to the whole purpose of the bike.. function over form brother. Also I get having fast rolling tires but if you ride the bike the way it’s intended that Ikon should last about two rides!
