The thing is, they could’ve used a character like Grimlock or Blaster who were in this wave, but instead they went with Rad who wasn’t properly introduced in any fiction. He doesn’t even have anything unique about him

What I want to know is how did Wheeljack & Prowl return? We clearly saw the Autobot tomb flung into the sun.
@@Robizoid It was all part of the plan. It secretly wasn't a tomb, but a rejuvenation system designed to seek out a power source great enough to revive all the "sleeping" Autobots. So when it flew into that sun and looked like it exploded, that was just the ship absorbing all of that energy to reawaken all those characters for their greedy Hasbro overlords. I mean technically both sides of the conflict were blown to pieces when the Ark crashed on Earth at the beginning of the cartoon. All the ship needed to rebuild and revive them was a little bit of thermal energy from that volcano they were buried in. Imagine what it could do with that much solar plasma.

I'm glad Megatron and Optimus Prime have name tags built in, like they transform from vehicle to "hello my name is...." every manager from a fast food restaurant

I remember getting some "Action Masters" Transformers from a liquidation store as a kid and realizing it was such a stupid idea.
In hindsight, it would have been a good idea IF they were available alongside the actual transforming toys. They actually looked like the cartoon characters, whereas the first several TF toys didn't resemble anything; poor Ratchet and Ironhide didn't even have HEADS. Plus they were GI Joe sized, which they should have pointed out for cross-play purposes.
We have R.E.D, Ultimates, and Flame Toys now, anyway, all keeping the Action Master concept alive.

This takes me back when I was a kid when I watched beast wars. The nostalgia. But what I didn't know that the other figures from back then that never appeared in beast wars transformers show, they've brought the characters from the beast wars 2 anime that back in the day, I didn't know about it. Man seeing this old commercial, I really need to get back watching season 1 anime of beast wars 2 anime more.
Okay the micro master combiners look so much more fun than the kid's line transformers nowadays 😭

Back in the day I always thought the commercial bits were from future episodes that had not aired over here yet 😄. Was I disappointed years later to discover 'The Rebirth' was indeed the final G1 material, and there was simply nothing more. I even thought that when I discovered the Japanese continuation (first episode that came on The Movie VHS), that that was actually the official US season 4, and The Rebirth I watched was simply the last three episodes of that Season..

As someone that loves both the 90's and 2000's equally alot more than the 80's?
These commercials bring back memories of when I use to watch them on the old YT days, probably my favorite 90's TF series' are both Beast Wars and G2 since besides RID 2001,Armada,Cybertron (2005),Animated, I've always been a Beast Wars fan than a G1 one and plus unlike what the criticisms say about it? in truth, I've actually been kinda fond of G2 since the Cyberjets and Laser Rods are my favorite characters :)
As a matter of fact? I think I'd rather be a Beast Warser and a G2er for the 90's while also a RID 2001er,Armada-er,Cybertron 05'-er,Animated-er,and Prime-er (2010) for the 2000's-10's for the rest of my life XD lol.

To this day, I think Action Masters were amongst the best Transformers made and I wish Hasbro would bring back the concept. No, Super 7 figures don't count. Not the same. Same size, but nothing more.

The cartoon had been over for years and sales for the toy line were in decline. They weren't going to bother bringing in the real voice of Megs or even a decent imitation. Hell they couldn't even be bothered to put the Decepticon symbol on his chest in the animation.

Decepticon Minion Generation Two DMG2
Don't understand Hasbro approving the 3D commercials for Gen2. Did they intentionally make the 3D CGI look bad. The 3D CGI animation at the time is way better than what's shown on TV especially since other CGI cartoons at the time were better like Reboot. Since most transformers don't have curves it should had been easy to model them. I've worked with 3D modelling/animation software in the mid90s and I modeled better transformers 3D objects. The only issue i had was the processing power for rendering the scenes and i was using 3D software for schools.
