- ⬇️ Click SHOW MORE ⬇️ to see everything in the video. Hey there, it's me! Today's video is all about concealers that just don't cut it for my mature skin. As we age, finding the right makeup products can be a bit of a challenge, am I right? That's why I wanted to share my experience with these concealers so that you can avoid the same mistakes I made.
If you're over 40 or over 50, like me, you know that mature skin is different from younger skin. Fine lines, wrinkles, and loss of elasticity can make it tricky to find a concealer that doesn't crease, settle into lines, or look dry.
The best concealer for mature skin is one that not only covers age spots, dark circles, and blemishes, but also nourishes and protects your skin. Look for formulas that contain ceramides, peptides, and antioxidants to replenish your skin barrier. And don't forget about hydration! Humectants like hyaluronic acid and glycerin can work wonders on dry skin and improve the appearance of fine lines and hyperpigmentation.
I hope these tips help you find the best concealer for your mature skin! Let me know in the comments if you have any other recommendations or if you've experienced any of the same issues I have. And as always, don't forget to like and subscribe for more beauty content. Thanks for watching!

What are your most loved and hated concealers? Let’s chat in the comments.
A few of the Elf conceals are a little cakey on me, so l don't use those and the Maybelline ones are cakes, the Koras work for me, l find the higher price ones work better for me, YOU have a MERRY CHRISTMAS AND YOUR FAMILY TOO, HUGSSSSS
I like Tower 28, NARS, and Natasha Denona. I find myself reaching for Tower 28 and ND the most.
The very best concealer I’ve tried recently is Haus Labs. The first concealer I don’t have to powder. I would suggest it, to anyone with mature under eyes.
How much is it, Francie?
Been wanting to try that but I’d still put tiny bit of powder on it.
I just wanted to say how helpful it is to have you apply the concealers thru out the video. So many creators just tell you what they liked/didn't like. It's super helpful to see not only your experience but your technique as well. I'm 50 years old and really have ramped up my skincare the past few years and I know I don't look 50, but the area I struggle with the most is my undereye. I have yet to try a concealer that didn't accentuate the skin under my eyes so I am still not wearing concealer at all. I'm really starting to think it's my technique! Thank you again ❤
I have very dry menopausal skin. I have spent a fortune on under eye concealers. The one I have that I cannot live without is the Lancome Effacernes Waterproof Protective Undereye Concealer. It’s non drying, doesn’t settle in my wrinkles, lasts all day, and works with my moisturizers. I have tried so many others and have returned to this one every time. I used this every single day. 1 tube lasts me about a year.
I find application works best with a moist concealer sponge or finder tips.
Thank you for your vids. I’m currently on the hunt for a long lasting lip liner. I really enjoyed your lipstick video. The Huda and the Charlotte Tillbury looked fantastic on you!
❤Thank you!
Thanks so much for sharing your favorite undereye concealer. I appreciate all of your kindness and support! xoxo
I resisted the Nars concealer in a pot for a long time, heard so many good reviews I decided to try it. I LOVE it, my new holy grail, have not used anything since getting it. I use very little so it will last forever.
I bought the Rare Beauty a couple of weeks ago. But now you’ve given me some other options to try! Thank you for all your hard work!
This was very helpful! Thank you so much! I want to try the Loreal True Match!
Hi Laura. I can definitely see what you're saying about that elf vs the Catrice concealers! I agree w you
Laura, thank you for these ideas! I agree with several of your choices on what didn’t work! I’m definitely going to be trying some of the ones that worked for you. One I love from the drugstore is the Neutrogena radiant cream concealer, it’s thin and emollient and blends in nicely
Great video, I really enjoyed it, thank you! I'm so glad I'm not the only one who doesn't like the Lancome concealer.
These videos are my favorite. You really go the extra mile! Thank you so much!
Glad you like them!❤️❤️
YES Laura TY so very much & I even have time to get before the holidays ❤. May your holidays be blessed 🙌🏼
Happy holidays! Hope your holiday is a blessed one! xoxo
I have had some of the same experiences as you. I like the Catrice corrector but didn't like the Becca one. I like the Flower Beauty concealer, but the shade is a little off. I had no luck with the Nars tube one that everybody was raving about a couple of months ago. It was very creasy on me. I also like the Catrice tube concealer. Thanks for this video! 🤩
Thanks Laura for everything that you share. I like that you talked about the concealers that didn’t work for you. Awesome job 🎄💖🌟
You are so welcome! xoxo
Thank you so much for this video! I have been searching for a good concealer and gave me some really great options and some ones i sure want to avoid.
You are so welcome!❤️❤️
Great recommendations! Wish I’d seen this before I bought the Lancôme concealer. Been trying everything and just can’t make that concealer look anything but dry.
Thank you for doing this, LR. I recently returned to using the Maybelline eraser concealer after a few years' hiatus. I love its thinness for undereye but would never use it for spots on my face for which I use a stick concealer. I was recently influenced to buy the PF butter concealer and the Revlon skin awaken concealer, neither of which I really like. The PF lightest shade is too yellow. I never tried the ELF concealer because I have found all ELF products to perform poorly. (I'm mid-50s.)
Awesome video. Thank you for affordable great options. Wishing you and your family a Merry Christmas. ❤️
Merry Christmas!❤️❤️
I love your videos. Thank you for sharing.
Hi Laura, I think I will try the Sephora Bright Future concealer. I haven’t been wearing a concealer because it’s so confusing as to which one is the best for mature eyes. Thank you for this video, I will try the Sephora concealer and see how it works for me. 🎄🎄
Thanks for your detailed video. I've been using the Winky Lux concealer for a couple of years. I wouldn't be without it.
It's so good!❤️❤️
Great video Laura! I gave up on concealers, lol, but now I will try the few that you liked and mentioned! All the best to you and your family through the Holidays! 🥰
Thank you so much. Happy holidays!❤️
I emailed BK beauty and we will be able to purchase Nikki’s brushes individually, but they don’t have a date as of yet.
The ELF peach color corrector in the tube works well for me, and I avoid fragrance. The Angie "cat paw" brush also does a great job for my aged/crinkly under eyes.
I’m older than you and laughed when you talked about how many concealers you’ve tried- that’s me! I’ve been using Catrice True Skin, Neutrogena Radient Concealer, Maybelline True Match and if all else fails Elf Cameo Concealer although one that isn’t talked about much anymore is the Covergirl Trueblend I have an empty of. I like your tip on not using a moisturizer under your eyes for at least an hour before applying I think that was part of my issue. Also, I just ordered the Maybelline brighter, the pinkish color, and 160 to ensure that I have a good base. Thank you so much for your reviews, very helpful ❤ Have you tried the Natasha Denona Hy-Glam - that one is on my list!
I have not tried the Natasha Denona. I guess I need to add that to my list too! xoxo
Another great comparison of concealers….even though you don’t need concealer. Thanks so much
You are so welcome!❤️❤️
Well, I'll have to hand it to Lancome as far as coverage goes. That blemish totally disappeared! Impressive in that regard. I really liked this video and appreciate the different spin as far as showcasing duds instead of winners. Ha!
Hi Laura hope you are doing ok saw the Boo Boo on your 🤚 hand ! Thank you for sharing all the products. I like the new self Brightner and color correct with Paint Pot or Neutrogena in Peach!
It is much better. I burned my hand. Thank you for sharing your favorites.❤️❤️
I love the Catrice . Concealer is probably the one makeup item that drives me crazy … how do I pick a color, colors on outside of pkg do not match what they really look like when u open, most seem too drying , how light do I go etc. etc. but I keep buying and trying. The Maybelline is good too. Just bought a Color Pop one yesterday so will try that. Thanks so much for this in depth review. Think I will try the L’Oreal concealer next. I thought the lighter one looked more natural too on you.
The NARS Creamy concealer is meant for other areas of the face, NOT the undereye. For eye area use the NARS Radiant Creamy concealer in the tube.
On the NARS website they say the Creamy Concealer is for undereye circles. ❤️
@@LauraRaeBeauty I didn’t realize that. Thanks for the info 🙂
I luv Giorgio Armani power Fabric. It is a thinner consistency but def conceals well. Givenchy is also great; has a perfect consistency. Btw,I have dry (aging under eyes 😩).
Your under eyes are great, I'm in my 30s and I have purple under eyes (always did). So I need a thin concealer with high coverage, like the Catrice Camouflage
TY for some products I want to try now. A lot of the concealers that didn’t work for you , didn’t work for me either, Mabeline eraser doesn’t work for me either sadly, I have so many fails.
I need to see if you have a video for anti aging products for our neck & chest.
I like sponge tip on the Maybelline concealer. 😊
If there were an award for “taking it for the team” you’d win hands down!!! Couldn’t come at a better time-decluttering my concealer drawer and have so many. I’m going to try Sephora and Rare Beauty but I have Dior, Givenchy, Fenty, etc and don’t like any of them. So far Winky Lux and Doll 10 are best. So would Rare Beauty be the best for 74 year old under eyes?
I think you would like it. It is super thin and doesn’t dry out my under eyes.❤️
I'm with you on the scent of the physician's formula.....it gags me which is a shame because the products are good. They quit making my absolutely favorite foundation, the healthy skin formula. It looked really nice and didn't aggravate my rosacea.
I would vote for the L’Oréal True Match warm 34 light, looked good on you. It’s on sale at CVS. The Sephora gel serum, Rare Beauty and No7 were nice too. I heard that some of the larger Sephoras’ offer an IQ color match for free. It will list products that match your skin tone. The one I went to didn’t have it. It might be helpful cause colors differ with different products, ugh. If it wasn’t complicated enough already ha.
Thank you for this helpful information! Happy 2024!❤️❤️
I am 60 this year. My skin is dry/normal. I use the Becca/Smashbox undereye corrector (very emollient) and the Nars pot concealer. I use the Angie hot n flashy concealer brush and tap into the pot, then a very light amount. Works great, lasts all day. Sometimes I powder lightly with Pat McGrath undereye powder.
Oh, and to really cover dark marks, hourglass concealer.
That brush reminds me of the Stilazzi S 300 wich is $9. I'm sure it would be a nice alternative. I think it's called flat duofiber stipple.
I'm still searching. Will try the L'Oreal. The Maybelline I've tried several times, it's horrible on me.
Hi Laura Ray, l love the haus lab concealer it works great for me, hugsssss ❤❤❤
Good to know!❤️❤️
Thanks Laura. I found it hard to see the concealers under your eyes. I don’t know if it was the light but they all looked the same to me
Are you watching on a phone? Just curious. On larger screen it is much easier to see.❤️
Great video, Laura Rae!
The struggle is real for me regarding concealers! I have very dark undereye circles and I have never found anything that cancels them out enough for me, even with correctors. Some are better than others, but never enough. Some even end up looking "dotty" after several minutes. Do you know what causes that? So frustrating.
Thanks for all your hard work!
I am sure you have tried everything but here are a few suggestions just in case. Try mixing the concealer with a setting spray that doesn't contain alcohol. Also, make sure you use a thin application and then add small amounts if necessary. When you are done applying the concealer press it in with your fingers. I also smooth it out with a brush too. xoxo
@@LauraRaeBeauty I will try the setting spray technique. Thanks so much!
I feel the same about the Lancôme. It's not been good for my under eye dryness. Another similar age you tuber raved about it being her holy grail. I'm going to toss it.
My undereyes are not even very dry and it didn't work for me either. So sorry you had this experience too. It did work well on other areas of the face if you could use it for that. I am going to use it for around my nose. xoxo
Hi Laura-- do you have a link of a number for the BK beauty concealer brush you used. I have the other one that you showed and it really is too thick and heavy. Great video!
Right now, the Nikki La Rose brushes are only sold as a set. I do have the link for them in the description of the video. I have heard that they will be sold separately in the future. If I hear they have been released as separate brushes I will let you know. xoxo
Big disappointment for me was ELF's camo hydrating concealer. It was NOT hydrating and made every line show and made them look so dry.
I had the same experience.❤️
wishing you a very merry christmas
Same to you!❤️
I bought the Lancôme. From the person at Sephora and rave reviews on you tube. It’s awful. I did everything. Eye cream. Primer. Brush. Sponge. Yikes !
I agree w every thing in this video
I must have same kind of under eyes
Im ur age too
Uggh that lamcone I returned the day I tried it it was junk
Im a new subscriber ❤ i have ordered the sisley phyto cernes undereye concealer to try. I'm also interested in so called blurring foundations and eye primers that can smooth eyelid texture. Do you have any new finds?
Welcome to my channel! I have some videos coming up that I think will be helpful. I have one specifically talking about mature eyes.xoxo
@@LauraRaeBeauty thank you. I discovered makeup late in life x
I haven’t been able to find something that doesn’t make my under eyes look worse but I can’t afford to buy a lot of different products so I’ve just been using my tinted sunscreen. I almost think I look better without makeup. Have a great week. 🥰
OMG! I have been doing the same thing!
@margieryne6220
Can I ask what do you use for a tinted sunscreen
@@deblincourt6802 I use Cerave hydrating mineral sunscreen broad spectrum SPF 30 face sheer tint. I love it. It does not irritate my sensitive skin. In fact it is suitable for sensitive skin. It also doesn't burn my eyes and it doesn't dry out my skin. Blessings!
@@deblincourt6802 I use the DRMTLGY tinted sunscreen but I’m not real crazy about it because it makes my face feel dry but I’m going to use it until it’s gone. Dr. Dray, another CZcamsr loves it & so do a lot of other people though.
What tinted sunscreen do you use
I can’t use any of the physician’s formula because of the scent.
Thank you Laura. Can I ask what your undertone is ? And what is that brush called please
I have a neutral skintone. The brush is part of the BK Beauty Nikki La Rose set.❤️
Thank you so much Laura
Hi, didn't see your link for Peeper Keeper eye cream ❤❤❤
Thank you for letting me know. I added it to the description.❤️
What is the brush again?
My eyes are very dry and crepy. I have severe dark circles and cannot find anything to fix them.
Thank you! Going to try some of your faves!
Hope you enjoy!❤️❤️
Tarte foundcealer and Mac? what were the two you said you like to just bring up under your eyes instead of concealer?
I use the Tarte Foundcealer and the Mac under my eyes and then I don’t need concealer.❤️
Thank you Laura!
My under eyes are so dry!!
Have you ever tried the Fiera Luxury concealer
No, I haven’t. Have you tried it?❤️
@@LauraRaeBeauty No, I haven't yet.
Where's the Winky Lux?
I have been using under eye cream since I was 23, I’m 58 now. I can’t live without it. (First world problems) 😂
The Nars really isn't good for teh underage, but best for spot concealing.
I totally agree! xoxo
❤️🌺🦒😘
Thank you for these options! I tried the Lancôme and it is the worst!! I will be trying the L’Oréal 👍🩷
You are so welcome!❤️
Lancôme doesn’t own L’Oréal anymore does it?
