Sorry you all were sick some but so happy for the fun & memories you made on your adventure. Can’t wait to hear about your brand:). I too don’t like leaving my husband for a trip, I’ve done it twice about 8 years ago & I had fun on my business trips but I was so sad & missed my hubby & the first weekend I went the ladies I was with were all chatty & happy and I was somehere calling my husband when us ladies went for dinner & I was telling him I’m coming home right away 😂. He encouraged me to stay and I was fine and did have fun but it was like I left a piece of my heart at home. ❤😊. I missed our 6 kiddos too. However, I’m so thankful I went…it was a blessing & it’s great for us mamas to do things out of our comfort zones once in a while. It’s actually very refreshing to know we can do it & it helps with those of us that enjoy being creatives. So thankful you’re home safe & I can’t wait to hear more! I still can’t believe how close we live😊. I pray the Lord continues to bless you and your sweet family🙏🏻. Blessings! ~Shannon

I totally know what you mean about the resorts tho, living in Haiti awhile just always made me feel so bad being rich enough to eat at these amazing resorts while such poverty is right outside the door!😢 beautiful video!

I’m excited to see what your project launch is all about. I know it was a business trip, but I’m happy you were able to carve out a little time for yourselves too. As much as you love and miss your family, and want to share the experience with them, it’s a good thing, and not a selfish one, to take the time to fill your own cup. I think it makes you a better mom, spouse,or whatever your role. At first I thought it might be a church mission trip, because here in Ohio where I live, we have many church groups who do go primarily to the Dominican Republic or Honduras for work missions. My own church, The Church of the Brethren, actually have churches, and a very living presence in Haiti. It’s kind of dangerous there for work groups right now, but we still continue to send our missionaries to support the ones already there, as well as monetary support on a regular basis. I would love to do something like that, but health issues prevent me from traveling like that. That’s where a prayer life comes in handy. If we can do nothing else, we can always pray for those who can do what we cannot.

I have friends from there. I love their culture. Yes they're very warm and kind. Xander was happy and so was your husband. Lexi had to do a doubletake but she knows your her precious mom. You make me homesick for the tropics! Used to live in the Commonwealth of Dominica. As well as worked in Haiti. Coconut water is the best, especially when the local water might be be strange to you. I too left my daughter for a week once. but She didn’t know how to express herself and was clingy for a very very long time after.
DR is wonderful! We lived there for almost 2 years.

My brother used to travel for his work and the Dominican Republic was his favorite. He said the same thing, that the people are super friendly and the country is beautiful. He loved it there.
My pastor was a missionary to Haiti, on the poorest island (many people don't know that there are several islands that make up Haiti)and he said the poverty is mind blowing, but the people are amazingly friendly and hospitable and while they have meager supplies for themselves, they will share it with you.
Thank youbfor aharing this beautiful place, people, foods, beach, sunset, your drone abilityband family. Loved all of it! 😂 Maybe you can take others on a tour there? I love that beach and water color.

I had to laugh at your first 24 hours as I am the absolute worst traveler and would have fit right in with all the throwing up and hanging out the window. LOL 😅. I understand your thoughts about resorts - have never stayed at one - that looked very pretty & well managed, but I've never thought you'd get an authentic experience - it's too sanitised - and as you say, for the staff - obviously this gives them good jobs, hospitality & leisure can be very important in many communities & countries, without it life could be really tough, but it can have a lot of downsides - having lived in a very touristy part of the world - you can't live with 'em & you can't live without 'em...
I was relieved to see you didn't end up in Mexico, very intrigued to see what your new venture is - Oh! I hope Nolan had a Wonderful Birthday! Trust you and the kids have recovered from your trip. Keep well & thanks for sharing.

It touched my heart that you were thinking of the welfare of others while enjoying the abundance of the resort. I often think of children in other countries waiting for a bowl of rice when I am among the crowds here pushing huge carts of food through Costco. Looking forward to the launch of your brand. Glad you recovered on that trip. The Dominican is a nice pretty country but some parts are bad. That got me laughing the guy at the airport wanted your channel even when its a mom one. Lexi at the end was not liking mama gone but it had to happen. Thanks for sharing Journey.
There’s no place like home when you’re feeling unwell. It’s also good to do something way outside your comfort zone, but very sensible to have chosen an all inclusive resort while being mindful of others living conditions. What a great adventure you two ladies had, so looking forward to seeing and hearing about your project. Wishing you all the best of everything for the future.

I agree about the resort in other countries
So happy we're able to go on a Trip With your friends, the scenery was beautiful. So sweet when you were talking about how much you missed Nolan. You are so awesome, and the kids were so happy when they saw you. The baby Is beautiful god bless your friend cathy❤
My first husband had a job that took us around the world for a few months at a time to some pretty exotic places. We lived in the south of France right on the mediterrian, in England (way too much actually), Virgin Islands , Dubai, Saudi Arabia & other places. We had his 2 children from his first marriage so as soon as we got somewhere we'd put them in English school or I'd have to homeschool them if nothing was available. I loved the traveling., but since his death I haven't been outside the USA any farther than Niagara Falls.
Sounds like a very adventurous life! That's amazing 👏 and I'm sorry for your loss I'm sure you miss him terribly
Love this so much! The scenery is making me miss Haiti and living in Haiti! I understand what you say about the resorts. The people working there are also providing and income for their families. Like you said there's a time and place. 😊❤️

You ladies are much braver than we were at your age. I thoroughly enjoyed watching your trip. Every word rings true. My own daughters are much more travel smart, thank goodness. They say it's because they grew up as Navy kids. We were used to living and traveling the world. Somewhat.

I love the Dominican Republic we stayed at a resort in Punta Canna spelling is incorrect and then we went another time but I don’t remember what the name was!! My daughter and a couple of her sons have gone as well but didn’t stay in luxury they all went on different missions

I worked in Honduras for 6 months and the locals vs the tourist experience were so different.

Love you two! I just kept agreeing and agreeing with everything said the whole way through, love how you keep it real! I think Christians should be wise as to which places they go to as well, especially when choosing beaches, which is kind of saddening because otherwise I would love to go to way more places ! It’d be hard to go anywhere without my husband but also nice to go with just a friend….but he is my best friend sooooo 🤷♀️ but seriously love the two of you!! 💗

Jeanine, I think you were overthinking the resort thing in the video today. "I don't like, but I do like, but I mean...." First of all, you HAD to travel for business. You NEEDED to be prudent and safe. You CHOSE a place that would meet your needs and it was surprisingly beautiful, all inclusive, etc. Just praise God. He gave you a blessing. It may seem some are "poorer" than others, but don't ever assume that. They may actually be the "rich" ones and we are the poor because they may draw closer to God in their need while our nation is certainly forgetting Who matters. Remember the tale of Lazarus and the king. Hope you just tipped very well and were considerate and thoughtful amongst the crowds. God made sure you and Raquel did a little suffering to temper any worldliness with the stomach upsets and the delays etc. Glad you two had a great time and hope the business end went well. Loved Xander's exuberant welcome. Wonder what was going on in Lexi's little head. She didn't even crack a smile! Probably past her bedtime. Glad you are home safe and sound!

I think actually, maybe you took it too literally. Jeanine was just chatting and this is how she is actually in her videos. She was going back and forth because probably she didn’t want to come across as judgmental and wanted express her feelings at the same time. She said she was grateful for many things. After just watching Sound of Freedom and although it focused just on child trafficking, the getting there at 2am then two hour drive up to the mountains kindof freaked me out. Stay safe in your future endeavors, please.
Yes I agree. That's why I was worried. But we paid for a well reputable vip service to drive us. Our driver ended up being from the states which was interesting. But it definitely isn't the wisest thing to do. 😑

I believe what you're feeling is coming from the Holy Spirit... To not think of the poor and needy anywhere you go shows a lack of sensitivity. I'm glad you feel that way and totally understand even though I've never been on vacation before... I do think about those who are in need a lot.

I'm not wealthy and could care less for such things. While I don't agree with many Christians in America who seem to be caught up in luxurious lifestyles, the mennonite mom is no where near what you're accusing her of.. And even so, your supposed rebuke is being done unrighteously, not a sprinkle of grace within your words and coming at me, a stranger who you barely know so harshly. Throwing Bible verses around about everything from a to z. I always feel sorry for people like that that look at others trying to find everything they can that they are doing wrong and making sure they know about it. I've met many people like this and I pray they can find true peace. When we repremend our fellow Christians... it's to be done in a gentle loving way. Firm but kind. This is all thru scripture. Jesus was also the harshest on the religious people for the self righteousness attitude they had. . Anytime someone comes at someone else in a self righteous way, condemning from a top down approach, seeming to forget the fruits of the spirit when they are admonishing... always looking to tear down vs walk beside and help, it makes me sad. And it's all done under the name of Christianity. It's why so many have turned away and not understood the love of God. It really saddens me. I pray they find the true meaning of freedom in Christ.
Also as a side note on the wealth topic. (The Bible also clearly says not to do your alms to be seen of men). I would think a youtube channel would be the last place you should broadcast all the "Good things" one does. 😀 I hope this person can be open to the spirit and understand the difference between the letter of the law and the spirit. Once you've experienced Christ and His love, you never want to go back.
@@theMennoniteMom amen. Agree... Even though our lives are different I still find a lot of value in your videos and always feel encouraged. Sorry you're getting those kind of comments. I used to be there once myself criticising others but glad God brought me out of it and am able to empathise and understand others more through Him. Hoping they can come out of that too.. But because I've been there I am often quick to correct them firmly. It's not okay to bear false witness or accuse others so unsoundly.

Janine one thing you should remember about those resorts is that without them, those countries would too be so very poor. They provide people that live there with good paying jobs so that they in turn can take care of their own families, unlike in places like Haiti that you mentioned. Those red eye flights and no sleep make anyone barf! Next time get a babysitter

Hi. I was wondering what do you, being Mennonite, swim in? Are there approved swimsuits or do women just tend to not swim?
Her symptoms are of heat stroke! Now she'll be prone to that. If she notices heart is racing, its to get body to sweat. Nausea, getting disoreinted, headache are other symptoms. Get well hydrated, check urine, if its yellow start pounding water and drink something with electrolytes immediately. Take care!

We've learned that eating and drinking outside of our country can be devastating to our American systems.
Jet lag is dreadful. And then to have apprehension and leaving your family, you had so much against you. I’m glad you are home and pray you do not have to go again.
