The Uddhava Gita is the discourse given by Lord Krishna to his friend and devotee Uddhava. This is the last advice he ever gave to anyone since the Yadava clan was destroyed seven days later and the Lord Himself rose up to his divine status.
This is actually quite different from the advice he gave Arjuna in the Bhagavad Gita. Arjuna was a kshatriya. He had all the qualifications of a true warrior. The courage, the compassion, ability to rule etc. He was on the brink of a fratricidal war which he had been forced to accept. Hence his duty was to fight for his rights and the rights of the citizens who were groaning under the rule of the tyrannical Kauravas.
Uddhava, though a kshatriya, had finished the duties of his order. He was at the last phase of life - sannyasa and to him Krishna gives a totally different type of advice. He told him to leave this world which would be meaningless to him once He, Krishna left it and go to the Himalayas, to Badrinath and meditate there living the life of a totally detached sannyasi.
So, we will find that the accent here is on renunciation of action and also on total surrender as found in bhakti or devotion.
The students of the Bhagavad Gita will find it to be very interesting.
