Treat the yard. Use a service that comes and cleans up the 💩 and treats the yard for all parasites and parvo. That way your other dogs don't get sick. By moving them to other areas of the yard you are infecting that area which allows the other dogs to get sick. They shouldn't be interacting with each other in the same area until they are all treated and the worms are gone. If you treat one dog you have to treat them all including Sakura ur cat cuz she is in the same house.
Not surprised Hunter’s feeling icky…it’s so easy for worms to get passed from dog to dog. Keep an eye on Moon & Wolfie too😉
The likely culprit for hunters worms if she has them is running around on the grass that the puppies have pooped their parasites on to. The little larvae and eggs would be in the grass when you move their spot and then Hunter runs around on it.
Hunter probably did some gross munching in the grass areas after each time you moved the puppy cage. It's so easy for dogs to pass on infections in shared spaces, even if there's no contact. Hope she recovers quickly!
I knew as soon as I saw Hunter interact with the rescues it was a bad idea.
I would recommend a 2 week quarantine for them. That’s what a lot of rescues do when they get new animals. 2 week period is what is the maximum to wait until all is clear. This includes puppies with zero health scares or nothing visible. Just a tip for next time. Ofc I know if it was more major than worms you would do this but better to not get pets sick at all to save time. ❤
The rescue should have warned you to isolate them from your healthy guys until they've been thoroughly treated for infectious diseases. Parvo for example stays in the soil for a very very long time and even with vaccinated pets it's very contagious. You certainly have the space and ability to keep them separated while quarantined. Hope everyone gets healthy very soon!
I think it might be a case of "easier said than done" and it's good for the puppers to socialise with the bigger dogs, but you're not wrong, I do agree.
It’s odd that they didn’t, that’s always as HUGE deal at our rescues. They make you sign something saying that puppies and kittens will be quarantined from other pets for a certain length of time.

Parvo lives on the soles of shoes. Lost a super sweet dog from a relative bringing it on her shoes. Wasn't my dog but my employers. He had never been on grass his entire life and she saw no reason to have him vaccinated for it. Very sad. I cried like a child.

Worms are EXTREMELY contagious! I wouldn’t be surprised if that’s the issue with Hunter .
You know what would be really cute is doing cool dog collar ID tags with crystal birthstones so it goes with your brand. That way everything that comes in for that can be for your setup outside, food, toys etc.

I always worry about that... if rescue pups could get your pets ill. It's good to isolate them until they're healthy for sure

Hunter probably got worms from being in the same yard as the puppies, not licking their noses. :/ When they run free in the yard and poop and then Hunter runs there and steps in it, she'll lick her paws and ingest the worm eggs. I'm sorry Joey! I hope she gets better soon.
Unfortunately this was bound to happen when you bring the dogs/puppies home and they socialize with your dogs
The dogs and puppies really shouldn’t have any access to anywhere each other have been. Like you were letting the puppies run around on the grass that then the big dogs were allowed to run around on after. And whenever you move the puppy pen around, then the old poopy area of grass is accessible to the big dogs. Ideally, the puppies would be in an area that can be bleached and sanitized regularly.
I made the mistake of taking my puppies to a dog park. Where they immediately picked up a stomach bacterial infection. My vet said that dog parks are cesspools full of disease and to never take them there.
So ai expect that you brought something in with the puppies. My vet said to treat EVERY dog I had. That while the adults show no obvious symptoms they can easily be carriers still.

this! not to mention that most dog parks are practically dog fight clubs and a lot of dogs repeatedly exposed to dog parks end up with reactivity and other behavioral issues.
This. My baby girl got sick out of no where and the puppy stray is fine but now my 3 year old is on meds and a specific diet of rice, ground meat, chicken and vegetables. The puppy is on dog food still. I don't take her there anymore. She gets her long ass walks while the puppy plays with the children at the park. They couldn't verify if she had anything but she has pain meds for her back legs. 😢

Product idea: Maybe some paw prints or “art” that are created by the puppies ( I’ve seen people have dogs create paintings by using paint on a canvas and a plastic wrap over and having the doggies play on the canvas, idk if that makes sense). Or something kind of similar just to make it personal to the dogs you are helping :) continue all your hard work Joey 💕

I'm shocked the rescue never told you to quarantine them! I would be more careful next time/bring the golden to your moms while there are pups at your house. You're putting your own dog and these puppies at risk.

Hi Joey! I have an idea for future dog area builds outside. Maybe you could do turf (or some sort of easily washable material) for the area you were saying and instead of the type of fencing you are using maybe have some sort of enclosed cage area like a chicken run. This idea is since you often have little tiny puppies nothing from above or anything could get in and hurt them! Not sure what exact wildlife is common in your area were that would be a possible worry but just putting it out there!

*E coli is a huge concern* -- wildlife and pet feces. Pets licking their anal area then licking owners. Also a problem simply walking on the same surface, grass, car seats, floors, etc., and especially for toddlers crawling on the floor then fingers into mouths. Bedding, furniture, etc. need constant cleaning. A neighbour was infected by petting a dog at the park. The saliva and fur were found to be the source. Get well soon! xx
Watching these puppies makes me think of my dog that my family and I had for 17 years…..we had to put her to sleep 2 days ago 😞. We will miss her lots, but she’s at the Rainbow Bridge with all the other pets and she will have lots of fun with them 🙂. Sorry I made this sad. But watching these puppies makes me happy. And it helps me to know that the puppies are in great hands with Joey.

*Montana/Monty (female golden retriever) is often in videos; she is Daniel's (Joey's ex) dog, but often comes to Joey doggy daycare
*the babies are usually adopted by other people (other than Moon) and then renamed! some of them have instagrams and have shared their new names/stories, but I'm not including those here
*I first created this list a long time ago and add to it every time Joey takes in a new animal...because I have it saved I just copy/paste it onto every (I try, but it's more like "most") animal-related video he posts, so no, it actually doesn't take a lot of my time or effort. I just like lists. Thank you to everyone who is giving thanks about the amount of effort though haha!

Fake grass at the back area of that garden would be a great idea! It looks like it offers some great natural shade too. Is it a west facing garden? I.e. where does the sun rise and set around your house?
Pups can handle full sun in the morning, where you are but need full shade in the afternoon.
How is your gardener? Is he seeking therapy yet? lol
That back area would also be great for a chicken sanctuary. Just putting it out there.. unless you are allergic to eggs too?
Yes at least 6 -8 weeks separate from the house dogs on the same lawn if there are worms.
If you ever choose to have kids Joey, then boy, it's fun and games with the cycle of worms and hair lice with the youngens!

The little boy should be checked for hip dysplasia. The malnourishment could’ve prevented the joints from growing correctly. Catch it now the better off he will be. My little girl was the runt and her joint just never formed properly and she had FHO surgery before she was one due to severe hip dysplasia. She was in tremendous pain but all you could see was a little limp and her favoring that leg.

Unfortunately getting rid of worms can take a few treatments. I honestly would deworm all the dogs at this point. They’re so adorable though!

Pips limp might be because he’s bow legged! Sometimes when puppies are malnourished their legs develop like that and you need give them some physical therapy before their growth plates close or they can be that way permanently. Pit bulls and parolees knowledge 🫠
