    Hi
This C4 Picasso came to me with a "gearbox fault" displaying on the screen...
When attempting to scan the car, no power (12v) at the OBD port...
    Was this two issues related?

HI Luis, in a comment section somewhere was this link to a guy who explains why cheap Chinese car fuses are absolutely no good. In fact the cheap fuses are dangerous. This video is 34 minutes long but for a good reason, the guy has the correct equipment and is methodical in his testing.
Just for example he shows why a cheap 5amp fuse will actually blow at 30amps by which time your loom and your car is on fire :(

Do you guys think the tool the professor J. Kelly uses in this video is useful for car diagnostics? Milli ohm meter is very expensive, may help finding corroded(also burned) wiring and shorted to ground wire because of the high precision the tool have !

    • @rysacroft
      @rysacroft Před 4 lety +2

@@petar443 No, this expensive tool is only useful for determining that the cheap eBay fuses that you bought are no good. I have some :(
How you discover what is a good brand of fuses to buy is another matter.

Luis, that is the fully automatic transmission which is quite rare. Most of the Picassos have the 6 speed semi automatic EGS transmission. You were quite close on the power. It is 138 BHP. My own C4 Grand Picasso has the same 2.0 HDi engine. That Picasso is very well specced even for an Exclusive. Whoever bought it new ticked quite a few of the optional extras. I noticed the bluetooth stereo, leather upholstery and the full colour display with the built-in sat nav. The person who bought mine new only went for the black paint. Some white grease will help in stopping the corrosion from coming back.

AAH , French cars . That's bread and butter . After all this time they still haven't learned to keep vital electronics out of the way of water / condensation intrusion but to be fair , they are not the only ones . As far as those fuses . It happened to me One ( 1 ) time that I pressed the wire inside the fuse together while measuring for continuity . My diagnose didn't make sense so I pulled the fuse and measured on the blades . Faulty . Looked very closely and there was a gap barely visible . Fooled by a faulty fuse .

Water/damp intrusion? Is that part of the fusebox not closed wit a cap? Silly then. I often use a metal nail file where i cut the tip of.
See you putting a 20 amp. why, there was no on the list in the manual. W(ater)D(isplacement)40 work temporarily, so i dip the legs of the fuses in some petroleumJelly. Keeps the corrosion away. Nice diag. and fix though

I just checked my car which i am trying to purchase and it has this exact fault and as i have the car i have looked at your video and i have now located the fuse, from the left i have the first 2 ports empty then i have a 5amp, 15amp, 5amp then a 20amp so the second fuse is missing and the 3rd is a 5amp and needs to be a 15amp so i will clean and add new fuses to the holder. fingers crossed.

Hello, my 2009 Citroen grand Picasso semiautomatic. I get a message "Gearbox faulty"
When i move the gear lever, nothing happened, it does not go to "'D" , it stays on "N" and sometimes the car does not start, and other times it starts. The OBD II says "Manufacturer Controlled Transmission. Code P 1834" what do you think the problem is?

Hi Mate, I wonder if you could help me out with any knowledge.
I have a Toyota IQ with a 5 speed gearbox. When changing from 1st to 2nd it is glitchy and gets worse when hot. Basically hard to change and you can hear a noise. But if I place it in neutral and then into second or go from 3rd to second it's perfectly fine.
Any ideas what it might be? Some have said clutch needs changing but I've heard from another person who said that when they had the clutch changed they still had the same problem.
