Love my LBZ, but I want touch a new one. Powerstrokes are just money pits. Anytime you have to work on the damn things the cabs need to be pulled. Powerstrokes are strong, but they will cost the hell out of you to fix. Now that Fiat bought the “RAM” truck they are not reliable. I owned one and they are unfortunately junk. I got rid of my brand new 2016 Ram 2500 when it had 10k miles and purchased a 06 Chevy LBZ. I had nothing but issues with that RAM. It was a towing tank but not reliable. The engines going in these trucks now are just to much for the good ole Allison 1000. I have an L5P and it definitely feels like the tranny is just about at its max. It still shifts great and all, but I know that the stock power rating is about max for an allison 1000. Its common knowledge that the 1000 is great stock, but once you start adding power they can start slipping pretty quick if your not careful. Anyways, my point is, that I think the main reason for this new 10 speed in the HD’s is one, to offer a competitive product in this crazy truck market. Two, to get a heavier duty transmission backing the duramax as power levels continue to increase, the 1000 is just too old in the tooth for these powerful new engines, still a good transmission, just not up to the task of these newer engines. I think people are just letting there emotions get the best of them here, the 1000 has served us great these past 18 years, but its time to say goodbye and move on lol. I think this new 10 speed will be a great transmission, thats gonna be able to handle a lot more abuse then a 1000 could in these high power trucks they keep putting out, honesty if Allison has approved the design(I believe they were closely involved in the designing of the new trans), then its good enough for me. Allison wouldnt put there name on it if they didnt think it could live up to there brand name. Its gonna be all right. I thinking of make a tribute video to the 1000 for all the guys who are super sad to see it go, I must say Im a little sad to see it go, I was hoping that they would keep using a transmission that just isnt up to the task anymore, but sadly they wanted to give us a beefier trans, why would we ever want that, cmon gm. Haha all joking aside, the new trans is gonna be great, have an open mind. Sorry for the loonnnnnggggg comment!

Unfortunately, I had a 2004 Chevy Duramax the mirror image of the GMC just dark green and it was major trouble and caught on fire while just sitting in the yard overnight and once investigated it was the neutral safety switch on the transmission, but I'm not saying all are bad cause I've owned every brand of diesel so far I've had a 01' RAM 2500 24 valve Cummins and 5 speed manual and it was amazing, I also had a 2016 RAM 2500 4x4 to of the line truck with ram boxes moon roof and it would have been a good truck if it wasn't for the emissions control mainly the dpf and def injection it started in the shop overall 6 months out of the 13 months I owned it and I've owned my 2003 RAM 2500 4x4 with the 5.7 HEMI that has 280k and minus the power steering pump, water pump, alternator, and battery I work the dog shit out of this truck and somehow it just keeps taking what I throw at it and coming back for more, and I also own a 2008 F250 4x4 king ranch powerstroke fully deleted and tuned with 230k miles and no problems with the drivetrain but now the steering components that's another story: steering box, track bar, and ball joints very common with Ford super duty from 1999-2017. But it has been a great truck it's been very well cared for. But I'm not going to beat and bash on any of the brands sometimes you just get a bad truck outta the bunch from all the manufactures and sometimes you just get really great trucks. Over got a lot on my channel about my HEMI and just a couple on my powerstroke more to come hopefully soon I've been down for exactly 1 month today because some Jackwad was texting and driving and ran a redlight and t-boned me @55mph so my neck and right shoulder are messed up pretty bad.

@@sinisterscatpack3929 haha yeah I was always told to stay away from those. I've driven mainly cummins. 2 Detroit's and 1 cat. The cat was worn out so it was no fun but otherwise I love the cummins. I've had 2 tuned cummins isx 500hp 1850tq. The first one was completely fresh everything done right and it would pull! Fastest I had it up to was 92mph before i backed off her(that one was wrecked). The other one was inframed then tuned to 500hp and the parts used for the inframe took a dump and blew the motor up.

Just so you know.. Every Allison transmission since 2001 in the Duramax has been built by GM. So the new one being built by GM isn't that big of a deal... GM built the one in that 2005 also..

Dr. Fishing Allison transmissions that were in the trucks up to the current trucks was built, produced and sold to GM by Allison. This is the first time GM has build these transmissions themselves. A lot of people are very upset about it. Not even sure why Allison is allowing them to put there name on the truck. It’s pretty much false advertisement. They are not going to be “true” Allison transmissions.

I have a 05 lly gmc sierra (slt)crew cab, long bed that I bought with 182,000 on it and it's been a huge $ pit lol. Still love that truck though. At this point it's only missing a built Trans. I put everything I could on/into it. It's now tuned ect. Beast of a duraturd lol. I shouldn't trash the duramax it's the gm/Chevy I wish I could take out of it.
