Good on you Josh for helping a senior and not charging for your time and filter!!
Paying it forward. đ
I have an 05 lly 4500 with 41500 miles on it. Your videos have taught me soo much about these desiel trucks, I can't thank you enough. I really want to do a few mods to it but just can't do that kind of work anymore with my crippled up old grama body. My dream is to be able to get it to you some day. Thanks again and keep up the awesome videos!
Thanks!
I got every bolt on going.. Except for an aftermarket turbo. On my lly.. Cause of this guy lol. I got fleece lift pump though. Works incredible. I'm broke now of course. And I've learned not to cheap out on motor mounts. It ripped itself loose pretty quick.
@@TruckMaster hey brother just want you to know that there is a scammer using your profile picture to claim youâve â won a prizeâ
Some of us just need a halfway decent truck. I'd delete the cooler and keep it stock. That frame isn't "horrible", but I'd probably have the rockers replaced. I'd definitely pay $15,000 for it.
Itâs had a rough 65k miles. Reminds me of the trucks in Hawaii. They rusted bad, just setting in the driveway and even new off the lot. It would be a good project truck and you should offer him 8,000 and take on an LLY. đ
8000 is an insult itâs a 13-15 k truck all day long
@@JohnDiMartino agreed
Only dodge trucks rust lol
Picked up my 06 LBZ 2500 HD crew cab 4x4 with 51k miles fall 2021. First diesel. Original owner ordered manual floor shifter for 4wd. Basically showroom condition.
I have an 04 LLY and after all the normal
Fixes I love my LLY. Great truck!!!
Thanks for posting this video, I have a lly and noticed it seemed a little under powered. Going to clean the Mass Airflow Sensor. Thanks for the tip. Take care.
I feel like 15,500 would be all the money for it. Gotta think about fuel lines along with those new brake lines. Bed is shot etc. love your build plan for it though! Keep up the great content man! Always fun to see whatâs nextđ€đ€
Great Diagnosis work Joshđ Truck Master to the rescue.
Thanks for taking care of Grandpa, maybe he will give you that truck someday đ€·ââïž
Thanks David
So a 2008 with 240,000 dually is definitely not worth $20k ?
I recently picked up a 01 LB7 extended cab 4x4 body 8/10 interior 9/10 for 2k because it needed a transmission. Never will get rid of the truck! Texas truck
My 04 Lb7 has about 160k miles on it, and looks about the same. Also sat in Michigan with one owner, mainly used to pull fifth wheels. Gonna be a fun job to restore it though. (even tho its pretty mint per circumstances) :)
That's cheaper than ones I have seen here in Oklahoma. I seen a Ram with 400k miles listed for $47,000, and a Chevy dually with 100k miles, and 7 owners, for the same. Also seen a GM at a dealership for $40,000 with 100k miles. I would offer $13,000 as is for that truck, due to what needs to be done for resale.
In Maine everyone seems to think their rusted out shit box is worth gold đđ
@@mattdowjr Dude, I was just going to comment that! Hahaha. I keep my truck in near pristine shape and she sees road use every winter, but man - it is fuckinâ tough haha. My other Maine truck that I never rustproofed, I still haveâŠbut is rusted to shit.
Hello Josh. You really did a great job on the truck for the older man and at no charge.
Looks great,to bad there's so much rust. Good luck with that đ
Another Awesome Informative video đ Thanks Lmm in Colorado đ€
Those clips of your trucks in the beginning made me smile đ€Ł nothing better than a duramax đ€đ»
I bought a 05 lly about 2 years ago that looked super clean. Had 178,000 miles on it. Paid $7,500.00 for it lowered from 8500. Then, proceeded to have to fix absolutely everything. Put about 30,000 into it. Hooked it all up with hsp max flow bundle, tuned, deleted, air dog, injectors and on and on with the goodies. Now... it sits. With some rot that needs welding(frame cross member and rear shock mount) that I was unaware of prior to dumping all this money into it. Just had the injectors done and only drove it a couple hundred miles for a rd trip once I got it back. Now, when I check injector balances the same injector keeps being off. Almost to 4.3 while the rest are under 3. You say -4 to +4 is usually ok right? Either way... I basically followed everything you say here on this channel and am still lost lol. Money pit LLY Duramax is what's going on here haha. I'll say this though... thing RIPS, when I'm able to drive it that is.
I would pay anywhere from 12-15k for it, just depends on small dents n dings scratches etc. Iâd also pull the cab n bed n redo the frame
The mirrors on that truck Iâve only ever seen on 2 trucks. My first truck, a 2004 Silverado 2500HD, and my dads truck, a 2005 Silverado 2500HD. My dad ripped his mirror off a long while back and never could find the replacement. Brother-in-law found a pair. Still havenât seen many of those mirrors around
There are definitely rare to find these days
I just bought my dads 2005 LLY extended cab for 20k. 225k miles but its got a texas rust free bed and interior is mint, and all stock except for a bully dog tune. It's a little steep but he already had offers on it, crazy market right now
Thatâs a lot of miles for the money
Thereâs a car lot in Missouri that sells these trucks with low miles for way to much money, they sold a red 2006 4 door LBZ for 64 thousand dollars and a silver Chevy 3500 1 ton dually with the 8.1 Vortec for 45 thousand dollars
2004 LLY here - 513,265 miles as of this morning. Original engine and trans including fuel system. Rear end rebuild at 225k and a glow plug controller.
i have a 06 gmc lbz with 230k on it mostly stock, has a egr delete fully tuned by efi live and a 4 inch lift kit, shes rusty, bed is shot there no rockers no cab corners, frame is in immaculate shape tho. ive had the truck for 8 months now and i paid 14k when i bought it. it was a ny truck for 90% of its life.
Thanks for the great content! Love that Bronze Metallic color.... awesome and Old school wheels straight to Pennsylvania sounds good to me! âïž đșđž
That dodge looks beautiful. Great content
Thanks Scott
Just bought an 02 duramax 2500. 40k miles for $30k. Been stored the entire time and is like new. Crew cab with most options and camper shell too.
I have an 05 crew cab that I bought for 21k 4x4 black with LLY and it had 90k miles and looks like it just rolled off the showroom floor. Its still completly stock and just hit 100k..
love all your shows, always looking forward to the next show i Have a 2009 3500 LMM and i love it
Just entered in for the orange beauty! You would have a little journey to Mukwonago, Wisconsin if I were to get lucky! Love what your doing with some of the proceeds, that is outstanding of you 110% respect. -Austin Peterson
I bought my 02 lb7 Chevy dually for $8900. Itâs a fully loaded LT and it only had 140k on it when I got it
I'd love to keep the cummins on stocks!! I submitted a ticket and hope I get to take her home in FL! USN here, thanks for your service brother and love the content!
Thanks!
13 to 15K for extended cab truck. Alot of rust issues, costs money to fix it correctly. Several rust free CC trucks in the 15 to 20K in Florida. Around 200K Miles though.
That intro tho! đ keep up the good work man!
Thanks brother
I bought a 2004 1/2 with an LLY. Love it
Your giving away the best truck
Sorry buddy, definitely have to go with the 22âs. At least you donât have to haul it far. Illinois!! Keep up the awesome content. Been watching for years. Helped a lot on my lbz.
As little as possible đ
Hey would you consider doing a how to video for detailing the engine bay? Im sure a ton of folks would love to learn the right way to do such a thing! Myself included lol
Thanks!
In this market, 15k seems about right for you. You have the means to pull the cab and bed and see how bad it really is. I think much of the sheet metal can be saved with new products out there. You out 5k into it, you have a 25-30k truck then.
im looking for a duramax truckmaster as i told you my house burned to the ground i crawled out on fire not kidding i lost everything i owned i only have about 16k i can put towards one i did find one but it needed injectors keep your ears open if you hear of one i really need one thanks love the video i dont miss those winters i was born in toledo lol
hey there i cant get this number to go through ive only used the whatsapp 1 time and my phone will not put this number through im probably not doing it right im getting a new phone tomorrow and i will try it on that im frustrated with this phone lol
You should look for a nice LML to add to the fleet. It is the longest produced duramax engine which means the most ppl own them and would bring more ppl in to watch đ€·đŒââïž
Obviously the market is inflated overall, but especially in today's age people are willing to pay the LBZ tax. This, of course, being an LLY will fetch a little less but pretty close. Also extended cab versus crew, crew wins. And then there's the issue of condition like you mentioned. I'll keep an eye on the forums for this truck but there is no way in hell I would be paying $20,000 for that. You are spot-on with your price estimate
I just wish I could afford to support the 2 main channels I watch. being disabled sucks do best I can but keep up the great content much love brother
Ok
I paid $12,500 for my 06 LBZ with 196k on it. It looked clean and was just undercoated and all but two years after driving in saltachusettes the rockers split wide open and the frame looked like this one. Everything was solid when I bought it.
Hopefully you will be making a trip to Ft. Myers Fl with that sweet dodge!
Salisbury MD, I have an Lmm duramax but I've always wanted a cummins! Beautiful old truck đ
Yeah your right on at 8 might go to 9 . Good job for not charging the ole boy
đ
Itâs nice but afraid of rust. My 04 gasserâs bed is going now. Replaced inner outer and cab corners. Bed pulled all rust and frame cracks repaired. Always small electric gremlins and yes ceiling coming down by front window. Only 89900 on the clock. Planning on selling it within a month. Hopefully get a decent amount for it. Still have a 03 3500 dually dump with 99k on it. Same electric and ceiling problems.
Crazy $20K for a truck that is 17 years old. I sold my 2004 same truck for $16K 12 years ago. I agree that is an $8K truck.
Iâm in Utah and that truck would be listed for 25-30k not joking. The market here right now is insane. Iâve seen 200k+ miles LB7âs listed at 25k+
Would love to see an lly on the channel. I have a 2005 lly but just found out today I either have blown seals in my turbo or a cracked piston, just been doing some self diagnosing in my driveway. Not sure what to do with it.
I own a 2005 GMC 3500 regular cab single rear wheel 150,000 miles that I bought new with 13 miles on the odometer. The gauge cluster and fuel filter mount are the only problems I have had.
Get Ready to deliver that Dodge Cummins to North Idaho Truck Master. It is awesome here and you need to visit this place!
I have a red 05 Duramax stock with 95,000 miles ,crew cab leather kept indoors and never seen snow have been offered $25,00.00. Just picked up a 2021 3.0 Duramax that just did 39.9 mpg driving easy at highway speeds that has an average of 32 mpg. Found me a daily driver.
Nice that you took care of the 'ol fella.
That truck is fairly rare, extra cab 6â bed, 4X4 low mileage Duramax. In todayâs market 20k is a deal.
If it wasn't for the body having rust issues, it probably would go for close to 20k but with the rust around 10k. I have a rust free 04 loaded LT ext cab 4x4 with the 8.1 Allison with 58k on it with prices up kind of tempting to see what it would bring.
I have a 04 Chevy 3500 8.1 gas crewcab, long bed, 4x4 4.10 rear gears , bought it 3 years ago for $7,000 with 237,000 miles now it has 264,000 miles. Has a great motor and transmission Allison 5 speed. I had to replace front right wheel bearing , and replaced a bunch of front end parts and put 4 new heavy duty shocks and a new battery Drives like a new truck, the 8.1 best big block GM ever put out. I wouldnât be afraid to go cross country in this truck. I use it to pull my gooseneck trailer hauling hay and farm equipment.
@4:13 is that a fortune cookie on the dash?! đ
Wow what a clean unit none the less!
I agree
Most used trucks, here in FL, by private owner have over 200K on them. Remember back in the 1960's you traded before you hit 50K. Not uncommon to see used car dealers with everything on the lot below 50K. Most were set back with dental tools, back when odometers were mechanical.
Dropped a few coins on the Raffle, looking forward to seeing you in Oklahoma :) I sure do miss my '98 4x4 Dually, worst thing I ever did was let it go, fully tricked out w/ TransFlow fuel tank... it is worth 10 times today, what I sold it for :( :( :(
Dodge is friggin mint.. Hopefully she finds a caring home in OK.
Hopefully you'll be delivering it to Sidney Montana
Sweet truck man
Love your channel! Send the truck to Kentucky! Thanks!
Just entered contest. This truck is a prime example of what not to do to a truck. My 01 1500 Silverado is in much better shape w 190,000 mi. Now swapping my body on that running gear would be cool, of course would need front bumper, grill, hood changed out. My interior is perfect, even the headliner
I just bought an 04 LB7 with 400,000 miles on it with a fresh rebuild the guy had the invoices for everything machine work parts head studs etc. Etc. You can look at the side of the block and you could eat off of it it's so clean gave 6k completely rust free Mike's aren't everything
I'd love to see this truck restored cosmetic wise
Josh , Indiana is just a short burnout away. đđ
I just bought 1 of your lift pumps, I'm siked to install the thing!đ€đ»đ
For my 05 LLY, it has 118K on it
Awesome! Thanks đ
Hello from Newfoundland brother!!been subscribed for a wile and decided to buy a 2004.5 lly duramax because of all the great content you put out. Well Iâm at the point where Iâm buying wheels and tires and came across a set of 5 325/65/r18âs on rims for $2000 my truck came with 2" Kryptonite keys not installed yet so will I get these wheels on my truck without having to chop the front bumper up and or add anything more than those 2 keys? I didnât think I would but some people say it will work so I figured I would ask the duramax wizard.
Hey Iâve found an F250, itâs an 03 model 7.3L. Each service has been done by the dealership and it only has 82,000 miles on it. What do I need to look for on a Ford, itâs done quite a bit of sitting although under a big carport.
We I paid 13,900 for my 2002 lb7 back in Feb 2021.....its an LT 2500 crew 8ft bed. Rust free no paint peel or dents originally purchased new in Florida....then shipped to Oregon where I bought it....now I'm in Washington....I could never pay more than 8-10 max.....then have to deal with all the rust......naw!
So I have an LLY I did the s&b turbo mouth piece and Iâve heard the cooling systems are to small would you upgrade to a different year rad and is that even possible.
I miss my lly. Best fuel mileage of any Duramax made to date.
03 lb7 Federal emissions. Banks 6 gun big hoss bundle. Intake, mouth piece . 4" straight all the way out back.35" BFG. 21 mpg at 78 to Vegas from so CA. Cruise on and AC 5 people.
You hit the nail with the hammer same about 7500 to 9000 here in Kalamazoo Michigan
What's a good cold air intake for my 04 lly? I have the ppg economy tune and a ppg lift pump
What would it take for you to take a look at my 2006 Duramax? Diagnose some issues she is having and codes that she is throwing?
Hey Truckmaster, do you have a video review of the scanner you were using to check the injector balance rates? I would like to know your take on it.
czcams.com/video/XArkehrn5Ns/video.html
I have a 2006 with 70500 on it pretty much stock but I do service it right great truck no rust no dents went to trade it in for a new truck a dully so I feel safer pulling my huge camper in case of a blow out I'm not sure I could handle it and I was offered 20 grand trade in mines in a lot better shape even the interior
8:30 ..I beg to differ it never leaves his drivilooks like heâs been using it to get around in bad weather quite a bit,if it sat in his driveway from November til mid April it certainly wouldnât look like that underneath.
Probably drove to Florida after the first snow, and drove back just during the last snow. Loaded it up with salt spray.
I paid 22,000 @ with 105k. I've got my monies worth. Love it!
Entered the giveaway. Western NY for delivery. It will look good sitting next to my LLY. As for youâre LLY, mine has 237k on it and itâs cleaner than that one. Southern truck most of its life! I think the one you worked on would sell for $10k-$12k. Idk if I would pay that for it thoâŠ
Had 126k on my 05 LLY SCLB. Had PPE up pipes, MBRP downpipe, 4" straight pipe, S&B turbo mouthpiece, LML drivers side manifold, etc. but it was in better cosmetic shape than that one with 65k. I'd offer 12-15 grand and call it good. That frame looks like a disaster. By the time you upgrade shit on it, you'll be another 5-7 grand invested easily
Will you do a video on rebuilding the lly ficm
In my neck of the woods in in PA it be listed for $30,900 at Blaise Alexander dealerships, no joke! My dad has a 2007 Duramax with 41k he was offered 30k trade! I canât make this madness up! Thatâs why Iâm still driving a Kia Sorento, Lol!
just entered into the giveaway, even though itâs a small chance id absolutely freaking LOVE the chance to get to drive the thing, let alone own it and i promise to take care of it and not beat on it ( too much ;) )
The question is do the mirrors power extend?? Iâm guessing theyâre broken like mine were and most of them are.
Can you clean the MAF sensor with brake cleaner?
Excellent Video đâââââ
I paid 14,500 for a 2004 GMC 2500hd 4x4 CC LB ZF6 with 186k. Bone stock, one owner. This was back in July 2021. The guy wanted 17,500. KKB shows it valued at 21,000 now.
I would have assumed that truck had 180k on it. A frame swap and a little body work could be worth the investment for a pre emissions truck.
So when I'm doing the EGR delete on my LLY I want to get an LB7 uppipe for it
The absolute best thing that anyone can do to a rusty metal frame, or any part, is to coat the rust with Rust bullet metal blast heavily. I swear by that stuff. The rust will never come back.
I'm with you, 8K.
That frame looks like new compared to my LLY daily driver.
I have a 05 lly brought it new 78,000 miles no rust at all had it undercoated don't drive it in the winter
Iâd love to see you restore that truck
just got the ticket for my new truck today lol
If I win the Cummins you'll be driving to Maine. Now on the Duramax, in its condition which is way better than mine rust wise, I'd pay 12K for it. I have an 04 that I paid 4K for and it needs a bed, both front fenders, inner and outer rocker panels and cab corners. Also his truck has 65,256 I believe
Hey Josh, what is the transmission in that Orange Dodge??
