    Kids... If you decide to get married, you made an adult decision. Start paying like an adult. Your parents are done paying for your entitlement.

    • @Maninawig
      @Maninawig Před 3 měsíci +19

      I would add the caveat of expectation. Some parents actually want to pay towards the wedding, as they see it as the last time they get to support their child before emotionally accepting that they are an adult. I have actually heard from fathers what a mindf*ck it is to see their daughter in their wedding dress as it breaks their mind's perspective of that 6 year old daddy's girl.

And make sure I don't see them ever again, I'm currently living with my parents so if I misbehaved badly or didn't listened to them I'll surely get beated with broom or something. I'll be emotionally exhausted from all their taunts and fight that they'll be blaming each other for raising a ungrateful brat like me. So from a early age (yeah, when I was you my mom use to beat me for scoring low or misbehaving) I learnt to zip my mouth especially in front of my father. I don't talk with him much since he's never home, he never hitted me but it's emotionally exhausting to have a convo with him. And in the end I just end up guilt tripping because my father works so hard and I can't even do what he said.

    So, OP gave his daughter money instead of attention or a sense of family and he was fine with that, until she got made when he plainly stated that her wedding is not as important as a business deal? Yeah, ESH. OP sounds like an enormous baby, not a parent. Way to absolutely wreck the shambles of your relationship with your daughter.

Hell even after her initial blow up he still was willing to giver her 75k, it wasn't until her fb post she lost everything.

    The dad yelling at his daughter is literally justified. Yes, he spoiled her and created this monster but this girl went out of her way to confidently talk trash about her dad being the 'cause' of her mothers death. Im just glad in this case, spoiled child finally opened her eyes after her dad yelled at her, and dad opening his eyes to how he has been taking and handling her. Glad they now doing better and getting therapy.

    • @ayceinquisitor190
      @ayceinquisitor190 Před 3 měsíci

      @@davidnash8208 you are making very binary comments with no middle nuance. You are making contradictory/antagonistic comments but adding nothing of value to any discussion, yet call other people rude for challenging your claims.
      1. Criminals are most often criminals because of environment problems (not enough money to survive, cannot meet basic needs) so blaming parents for crimes makes very little sense (unless the parents are also criminals, teaching their kids to do crimes, your comparison adds nothing substantial to conversation. It comes off as a throwaway "nuh-uh, you're wrong!!")
      2. Parents can and often do perpetuate cycles of abuse. At some point a child grows into an adult who either fights that cycle or has given into it. The people and environment surrounding a kid as they grow can really impact how that kid is as an adult. It's not 100% the parents or the kids fault, but at some point they [as individuals] cross from victim to full perpetrator.
      3. Parents might not be "solely" responsible but you cannot say it's either all or none. Parents set examples, teach values, and has some level of control over who is an acceptable peer or adult role model to a child. OP wasted seemingly every opportunity to correct misbehavior and raise his kid right. But he raised his kid by feeding her materialism even though she mistreated other people. So she became entitled to money, low emotional maturity and weakened social skills. She was never forced to face consequences and got anything she wanted. That's a literal direct consequence of OP's poor parenting.

    This man essentially dedicated his life to his daughters happiness after just losing his wife and his reward was to be called a broke loser who was responsible for his wife's death just because he only had half of the 150k that brat wanted for her wedding with a guy she's only been dating for a year.
    To make it even worse he's now being gaslit to believe that her behavior is his fault, because even providing a child the best life a single father possible can has to be twisted into something wrong.
    And in the end all of this was done because his daughter FOR SOME REASON wanted to be married to a *confirmed* cheating PoS.

On the very rare occasion we would ask something from him that we wanted since we knew he would get it, but we never abused his kindness. We didn't need him to buy stuff for us or spoil us for us to love him.
    He made us feel better about having shitty bio dads by just simply being there, it didn't involve spoiling us since he didn't want us to be raised as spoiled brats. The few occasional spoiling, which were small things. He succeeded where our bio dad and op had failed to as a parent

    People who spoil others expect them to be grateful and even if they treat others poorly they can't imagine it happening to them, but then it always does.
    I wonder if it just something mental. If a person receives too much, then what they receive loses its value. If it looks like it is easy on the provider to spend money, then no amount will ever be enough. If it is hard on the provider to spend money, and the spoiled person has to pick and choose what they can afford, they learn value and appreciation. How can you appreciate something if 10 seconds later you already have something else to replace it.

    OP literally says he wanted her to believe she could have everything ... Then is surprised that she blows uo when told no.
    He then says awful things to her. Truly despicable things to her and doesnt think he has anything to apologise for.
