The crystal element crushes all of them. Your demo guys have small hands and had issues obtaining a good seal with the bigger shell. They also held the harp against the grill, which kills the thickness and grit they’re known for. The fella in the black shirt never sealed the mic, on any model, which is why he had to turn things up and sounded thin. Had it been in a Turner chop, or Shure small shell, I bet they would all choose the crystal.

Nice amp. This was such a good shootout. That Husky sounds great but no edge.. The Harp blaster also sounds great compared to the two fat mics. The two smaller mics are easily cupped as you can see your participant's struggle a bit with the 2 fat mics. The XLR connector on the HB is a smarter way to go for pro rigs.

Pro rigs? Not really. You either need a 2-pin hot cable, or an adapter, to plug into a tube amp. Every pro I know uses 1/4” cables or wireless.

Xlr on one end and 1/4 on the other is common. Use that to go into any amp and xlr to xlr to go to the PA.

@@gioscervelo a 2-pin hot is not common. Obviously found the jam night patron.

@@norfolknwhey4787 Got it now: the Harp Blaster is pin 2 hot, 1 shield and 3 open so the common xlr to 1/4 configuration works. Pin 3 hot xlr to 1/4 is the Blues Blaster configuration. You probably have the Blues Blaster in your vid thus the adapter is needed.

I‘m a guitar player and music freak, not a pro harp player (just a bit), but to me the Shure sounded best. Just like on old recordings. The others lacked character/uniqueness. But I can understand that the big size is not too good.

The Hohner needs an impedance transformer and it will be fine. :-) They are cheap and like an adapter basically.

  • @gioscervelo

sounds like the least expensive one is the one for me.

salut Nico , sais tu quel était le model de l'élément ( "black thunder" ou "red Devil") qui était monté dans le husky que tu essayes dans la video? Merci

If you going to check out mics, get players that can play By that I mean get out of second and run round all 12 keys look the circle of 4ths will do but get out of first base because you are all doing acting being THE SAME THING like a peace of plastic. If you people can play do it otherwise i hear nothing in the demo just 2nd position honking cupping of simple riffs. Get someone that can actually play. That is how to test a mic.
