2022 Suzuki Vitara FULL Hybrid review - is a £30,000 Vitara worth a look?

  • The 2022 Suzuki Vitara is actually rather similar to the last Vitara I drove back in 2016. It's been tweaked, sure, but real difference is in the fact it's now available as a full 'self-charging' hybrid. It's also a lot more expensive than it was in 2016, so does it pass muster as a near-£30,000 car? Join me for a full walkaround and review to find out.

    As I put this live I realise I've just hit 15k subscribers. A huge non-sarcastic THANK YOU to everyone who's watched my twaddle over the past two years. It's still a pleasure, and I appreciate you all watching. I'll have a 911 GT3 video next week, and then I'm back to reality with a Suzuki Ignis. Which I'm actually embarrassingly excited about...

    I have a 21 model, 1.4T TC auto mild hybrid. The previous chariot was a Subaru XV CVT.
    Before that I had a CRV EX auto preceded by a Forester auto. All 1 owner used. I like autos :)
    The Vitara does everything I want in a car, and does it well.

    Our 1.6 auto SZT 2018 has a smooth auto box and managed, loaded, 54 mpg average through France to Spain and back over 2000 miles. Ultra reliable so far, don't think I 'll be changing too soon....

    We don't get Suzuki in the US anymore but older Vitara are seen scampering around the desert trails. It would be nice to see Suzuki update this very cutesy looking car into something more competitive because i bet they would do well

    Got a 2018 1.6 SZ5 automatic, fantastic, honest car. Im sure dealers will be offering a large discount on the £30k asking price

    Well done on the subs Rodie You deserve way more👍🏻
    I think I’ll give this one a miss though. Single clutch semi-auto? I thought the Aventadore was the last car to have on of those old things?!?

    I have a diesel allgrip sz5 and love it. Have moved washing machines and tumble driers in the back, no problem. I never thought I would appreciate a level load lip. I’ve had a lot of far more expensive 4x4’s and like the honesty of the Vitara. Did an 800 mile round trip and felt ok. One thing I do like is it always come up high in the reliability surveys, more than can be said for some of its competitors. Plus the 4x4 system really works. The one thing I did notice is that the centre dash clock has been deleted 😱. Love the review though👍

      The clock is still available. It's just been moved to being an optional accessory.

    Here in Au we only get the petrol.
    I've had a few different cheap Suzies over the years as runabouts and they've all been great.
    Bit boring but well built and reliable.

    Hi all. I have three kids, 10, 7 and 1 year old. Can a forward facing child seat fit and leave enough space in the middle for the 7 year old? Have to upgrade to a car that can fit all three of them in the rear and Vitara is tempting.

    such a nice video, just one question: 1.5 hybride for 115 hs is too weak for overtaking on the highway?

    • @AdamRance-b8l
      @AdamRance-b8l Před 5 dny

      AMT gearbox require gentle acceleration so its not ideal for overtaking to be honest. The system does not respond well with sudden acceleration.

    always likes the vitara... but the hybrid option is so expensive it isn't really an option.

    I have the hybrid allgrip 1.5 auto, must say can't fault it's off road capability it's fantastic, snow mud it managed all conditions.

    • @AdamRance-b8l
      @AdamRance-b8l Před 5 dny

      The hybrid is not suited to off roading. It comes with an automated manual gearbox. The clutch plate will smoke very quickly with continued use. AMT's and DCT's are not designed for off roading. Suzuki have made some compromises. The previous Vitara's were much better suited to this type of driving as it used conventional torque convertors like other off roaders do.

  • @robc5955
    @robc5955 Před rokem

    Gave up asking Siri to translate torque, got very complicated. That’s a lot of money for a very compromised car. Still the oldies will like it.

    Not a bad car, but I think Suzuki has priced themselves out of the market on this one.

    I think the Renault Captur E-Tech Hybrid is better, or the MG ZS is better if you really want a cheap car.
