I've had issues finding primers and foundations that play well together. A lot of foundations don't really like certain primers. I'd love a video where you pair primers and foundations!
I have the same problem but something that has helped is paying attention to the bases of my foundations and primers. Some foundations/primers are water based, some oil based and some silicon based. Use like bases together. You can determine what base a foundation/primer have if you look at the first ingredient or first 2-3 ingredients listed on the bottle.
This is a great idea. Matching the bases makes sense but it would be nice to see what other people like pairing together.
I completely agree! I've got combo skin, and I frequently run into issues if I use both a mattifying primer and foundation. This would help those of us who want to venture outside of our typical primers and foundations, but don't know how to do it!

MomNMe Beauty Same, I have combination skin and there's so many options for pairing them together. I'm also trying to find a good oil free moisturizer or primer to use during the summer because it gets really humid where I live.

Jessica! Please dont get rid of the pixi primer just because the price is similar to the mac strobe cream. If its just as good of a product, then its a great cruelty free/ more natural product to refer to for those of us who don't buy from mac. ❤

you should do a week of primers or like primer Fridays, where you just try new primers that way you would have a reason to make yourself try all the different primers!

TO ME the entire point of a declutter video is to hear what you have to say in greater detail about each product in your collection and if it's even worth keeping anymore regardless of how much you throw out. Right away you said you planned to keep a lot.. then you get complaints on how this isn't a declutter.. it's a collection... as if this isn't apart of a series and people would have came for you if you didn't include your primers for the declutter series. So for some reason everyone has to remind you of what you already said. You got rid of some, good enough. Love ya Jess! I really needed some advice on primers, your explanations were very helpful, and primers can be really difficult to explain!

In your declutters it would be awesome if after you decide what you are keeping you could pick out like your 'ride or die' products. Maybe pick 2-3 that if you could only keep 3 products from your declutter what would they be.
Victoria Cook-Cranton she usually picks up her very favorites right in the beginning before going through the rest one by one.
Maybe do a massive review and declutter of those you kept to try out? I'm imagining like those follow up hauls some youtubers do that just... Like a follow up on the declutter. Gives you even more of a reason to use the products and make up your mind about them.

i disagree with the oily skin not wearing oils before makeup! most oily skin is oily because it's dehydrated! The best thing imo for oily skin is to pack on oils before bed. slather on rose hip oil until you look like a greasy mess, rub it in, and go to sleep. you'll wake up with such hydrated and smooth skin! a drop of the smash box oil on the oily parts has always helped me keep my oily nose at bay, since it tricks the skin into believing "oh, i already have oil on my face! no reason to make more!" of course to each his own.
i never understand why people get grossed out by weird applicators like the flower beauty one or the maybelline age rewind concealer and still continue to use doe foot applicator concealers?? like.. its the same thing? and if youre just using it on yourself not like multiple clients and you know your face and hands are clean.. whats the big deal?? lmao

That TooFaced Hangover primer is the best for my combo skin. It has really helped reduce my shine on my face when I where foundation. LOVE IT!

I love the in transit primer! It's hydrating and then gets tacky so I find my makeup ends up sticking very well to it.

Catrice makes awesome primers! I have the pink Beautifying Prime & Fine, as well as both the jar & stick forms of the pore filling primers. Love how all of them make my skin look with makeup!
NYX Pore Filler honestly changed my life. I have combo skin, so my oily nose is covered with large pores and dry skin patches. I put on the NYX Hydratouch primer (which is just like the Smashbox one), then use the Pore Filler in my problem areas. Even helps diminish my forehead lines! It's blurring and makes your skin soft, but not powdery like the PoreFessional. Absolutely worth the $14!!!

the primer oil is really good for winter. I use it on the bottom on my nose when it starts getting irritated. helps prevent chapping.

I luv the Maybeline shiney primer with pink writing(forget name), as well as the Maybeline creamy one. The white one is great for dry skin. The shiney one gives me a healthy glow to my skin. I foreal use that one year round!

Is that better for dry or oily skin? Mine is more combination but slightly on the oily side.
It is more for dry skin coz it is a hydrating primer :) it also blurs imperfections

I really love the Lancome La Base Pro primer. Its expensive but SO worth it for my skin.
Hey Jess, you probably won't see this but do you like the NYX pore filler more than the Maybelline baby skin, like do you think the NYX one is better?
I use one drop of the Smashbox oil primer mixed with my Estée Lauder Double Wear foundation and it gives it a beautiful finish.
Mi have oily skin and I find the smash box oil primer to actually work really well with full coverage foundations so that they don't get cakey AND it actually doesn't make me oily. Gives a nice glow without being greasy. I love it. If you ever want to get rid of it I will gladly take it off your hands!!!
I love de cluttering. It calms my anxiety about having so much. Currently I'm stuck between wanting to declutter so much of my wardrobe and makeup collection, but I also have to keep stuff for freelance makeup artist/modeling shoots.
It stresses me out to have so much that I'm not constantly using.

I'm also a teacher, but I often stay at the school past 6pm. I have combination skin, but have barely ever tried any primers. Any time I did, my makeup was harder to blend, and ended up patchier in the end of the day than without the primer. Which ones are the most long-lasting for you, and do they all mend well with the foundation you put overtop, or do some separate quicker?

Ivanna 101 I have combination skin, and love the NYX angel veil, or Tarte smooth operator. Most of the time though I just use the it cosmetics CC cream it is like all in one and great coverage.

The This Works primer is pretty bomb for dry skin. It is thicker and really hugs the skin. It's really expensive though so I'd like to know if you have a dupe, maybe the rx hangover? I haven't tried it.
I personally use primers 5 days a week since I wear makeup to work. So I totally think it's okay to keep a lot of those you actually use because you'll go through those pretty quick.

I love the Mac Strobe Cream on its own, however it SEPERATES my bb cream/foundation like crazy. It all balls and cakes up 😕 How do I make it work?
