    I love the way the AI works, simple card flip but uncannily accurate in it's tactics.

    Yessss I love this game! Teaching this game with preseason games instead of simply doing the buy rounds is a smart idea. I liked that.
    One rule I missed when I was getting into this game was that you can Pinch Hit your On Deck OR the top card of your deck. I find that choice very powerful. I didn't see this mentioned yet so it may help in the big series.
    Can't wait for the World Series!

      Steve!! Thanks for the reminder, I did not explain that one. Let's see if it helps with the World Series!! Out of curiosity, do you own any of the expansions? I got all 7 but am trying to decide which one to start with?

    • @StevenKingsley
      @StevenKingsley Před 6 lety +1

      One Stop Co-op Shop I have all the expansions but not all the starting teams. When I receive the recent Kickstarter, I should have everything but half the starting teams. This game is so good, I can't help but getting nearly all of it

    • @OneStopCoopShop
      @OneStopCoopShop  Před 6 lety

      Ohh there was a kickstarter? Are there going to be more than 7 expansions? Yeah I only have additional starter teams of Seattle and Minnesota. The game is just so gosh darn fun, I can't stop playing it! Reminds me of Clank! where there are uber simple mechanics but still fun gameplay. That is impressive!

    • @StevenKingsley
      @StevenKingsley Před 6 lety

      One Stop Co-op Shop Yes there the Kickstarter was for a reduced content and price game (for easier entry into the series) but also added 3 new expansions to bring the total to 10. Delivery should be in a few weeks I think. Fortunately, I think all but maybe one single card will be available at retail.

      @@OneStopCoopShop I definitely will! I randomly came across Bottom of the 9th and loved it both solo and two player, and when I talked about it people kept mentioning this one.
      I see why now! I love the deckbuilding ideas here and the cyborg baseball theme is very Basewars on the NES, such a great aesthetic!

    • @OneStopCoopShop

    I got this game a bit ago, but haven't had a chance go get it to the table. Thanks for making the instructions easier to understand!! I wasn't sure how fun it would be as a solo game, but now I think it's time to give it a whirl.
    How much do the team expansions add to the base game?
    As a Yankee fan I'll forgive you rooting against my team... this time! :)

    • @OneStopCoopShop
      @OneStopCoopShop  Před 6 lety

      Sure thing Wendy! The hardest part of the game at first is to understand the "flow" so hopefully the vid's helped. Also don't forget I played the fast runners wrong! They go an extra base only when they are runners, NOT when they are the hitters!! Team expansions add very little, each starting team has 1 or 2 at most unique cards. The 7 base expansions provides more cards for the free market etc. Thanks for forgiving me about the Yankees, I always root for the underdog since MN is always an underdog hahahaha!!

  • @lillebror666
    @lillebror666 Před 6 lety +3

    hey there, thanks for the video. a little rules mistake happened. the red runners are only faster once they are on base. so, a single is still a single, but a fast runner on first base, goes home on a hit double. cheers.

    • @OneStopCoopShop
      @OneStopCoopShop  Před 6 lety

      Bummer!! So I read in the rules "All Fast Base Runners always advance 1 more base than the hit." But I do see that specifically states base runners. . . So this does not count if they are the ones that hit the ball?

    Hi ! I'm a beginner to this game, just got it, and I have a question : at 15:00, the fast hitter going on base 1, you put him on base 2 even if it's a single because he's fast. But I think I read on the bgg faq that when a batter move, he moves only the indicated hit, no matter their speed. Just wanna check if I understood this right. Thanks for this video !

    • @Ju_Liien
      @Ju_Liien Před 3 lety +1

      Same with the double fast runner behind him

    • @Ju_Liien
      @Ju_Liien Před 3 lety +1

      Also, at 26:00, you add a pawn for the quick eye homerun, and I don't understand why :/

    Hmmm if one knows what their doing, this looks like a quick playing game but wow, how long does it take on avg, to figure all this out? Are the instructions CLEAR? And one more question; what is the point of playing the “pre-season” game before the 1st world series game? Was that just for demo? Seems like anyone should start this game by going to that first “buy/draft” mode to upgrade your roster. Then play 1st season game. Then I assume according to rules, you do the draft/upgrade before playing the next season game. That sound right? I cant decide if I would like this. Bottom of the 9th has concepts of pitching, balls, strikes... very different but seems more like real baseball. This game is like “hitting/derby”. No concepts of strikes, balls, outs. But overall it appears to be simpler that BottomO9th. In BottomO9th, looks like theres a lot of card-ref-lookups to determine various outcomes... so contantly referring to the charts on the cards to determine outcomes of dice rolls, etc. Looks laborious compared to this game. But learning this game doesnt look easy. Neither do actually.

    • @OneStopCoopShop
      @OneStopCoopShop  Před 5 lety

      Yeah honestly it took a bit to get used too, but once you do this is super quick and intuitive. I like how you threaten and your opponent can respond etc. Pretty cool system that gives you fast play but still feels like baseball!

    There was a NES game named similarly, where you bought upgrades to players as you won games. I only played a couple of times at a friend’s house...all I remember is that it was very creative and deserves a remake. Is this loosely like the NES game (if you are familiar with it)?

    Have you ever played the NES game Base Wars? It's all about robots playing baseball. You can upgrade them in various ways and it's a blast. It's one of my two favorite sports video games. The other favorite is the Super Nintendo game Mega Man Soccer, where, again, it's Robot characters, but if you win against a particular team (made up of all the same type of robot), you get to take one of their robots and put them in your roster, thereby configuring your team slowly throughout the campaign by exchanging robots with other teams. It's a blast.

    I'm curious how balanced the teams are. I remember NBA Jam back in the 1990s secretly nerfed the Chicago Bulls. www.huffingtonpost.com/2013/09/26/nba-jam-rigged_n_3998321.html
