I have been fortunate enough to have seen Supertramp “The Tramp” Live 3 times. Their live shows are a spectacle and brilliant. Each member is a musical genius. Rick Davies is my favorite keyboards player and John Helliwell is favorite Sax player. He is a blast to watch live. The bass and drummer are awesome and Roger’s guitars are superb. The only live show I put above Supertramp is Pink Floyd, who I have seen 4 times.

Check out the version from 1974 from the British TV show "The Old Grey Whistle Test ". I would post the link, but I don't want to affect your reaction (it you want it, reply as such). It shows the whole band in a live studio setting. It is a lot of fun with great musicianship. Thanks, you are a fun reactor and I look forward to more. Not my favorite Supertramp song. They're unique, and very talented. But for an introduction, "Goodbye Stranger," or "The Logical Song" might be better.
Rudy is masterpiece and one of their best , according to the most of the Supertramp fans including me. Goodbye S. and Logical song are good but they are pop songs.

Hey Friend, If you want to see your Mom cry... watch Supertramp-- "Don't Leave Me Now" with her. This group will blow your minds.
I think the studio version is far superior, and I believe there are videos that still include the train sequence with the studio version.
